I have used all of these mics for years and the Telefunken with a Calrec RQP 3200, a Focusrite Red 2 EQ and the DBX 902 DeEser is the best vocal strip I ever heard.

It’s not just the mic though, it’s the hardware chain it’s running through… it’s really mic + hardware .. generally some analog gear.
I am lucky to own the U67 RI, Manley Gold and Manley Ref Cardioid, along with a half dozen others. They are all fitted w very high quality NOS tubes. With each, a different and unique voice. U67 is my go to.
I like a lot of your choices you put in the video. The TLM 103 is my favorite Value mic. I like that you said not everybody loves the u87. I try to use it many times and it never makes the final cut. The sony c800g is a beast on rap....but I dont want to pay that much for a mic. So my best want-a- be c800g is the Slate emulation of it. The slate also does a hell of a job emulating the 251 and u67 too and at a street price of $499 hard to beat. I know a lot of people going to list the u47, but it only sounds good on a certain kind of voice. I like mics that make most everybody sound good on.

Using a warm audio wa87 running into a HA73>KT76>KT2A>Apollo silver face quad. I know this mic but often look at the wa8000 or telenfunken tf39.

All great mics for different purposes. An artist can be set with the U87ai. It's a different beast especially for it being a solid slate transformer mic.
Yes! So true. Which is why I try to warn my subscribers with the TLM neumann series. You need a pretty decent preamp with an output transformer like the Neve 5211 to make it popped. Thanks for always coming through brother.

@@archiebeatz audio technica ae5400, akg c90p, akg c2000b, blue baby bottle and Ev re10 dynamic mic. By far though I am loving the new KSM 44A. Very natural and neutral sounding with no harsh highs and a solid bottom. Very wide pickup that doesn't change consistency if moving back and forth a little bit.
Can you please do LOGIC’s vocal chain? He uses the shure sm7b but I need to know all details so I miss nothing I need the interface, a cloudlifter and anything else!

My dream microphone is definitely a Neumann U87 AI. I am currently rocking with the Slate Digital VMS 1 and it sounds great. I've used the Shure SM7B in the past as well as a few other mics including the Rode NT1. All great mics :D

@@v3zMedia That mic seems interesting but a little too pricey for me to be honest. I spent only $350 on a like new Slate Digital because it was so cheap and I tend to emulate tube mics with it. It works for my purpose but, in the future I might look into the WA-87 from Warm Audio or the Stam Audio 87..

@@0d0d0d no problem. I'm leaning towards the Stam Mics these days as they're the closest thing to the real units at this point for way less. They pretty killed the TLM103 market because it's around the same price as pretty much all of the sought after mic clones they build. Even the new SA800g.

Hello. Can you recommend a microphone for live broadcasting and dubbing? A room that prefers to record broadcast recording in a normal home room will not be used. I would even appreciate it if you could give me the session fee, if possible. My total budget for sound card and microphone is 1.000$.
Nice! Apollo Twin X and SM7b or Re20. All broadcasters and host at clear channel radio/iheart radio use the Re20. When I worked at Clear Channel all celebrities, Dj's, and host used the Re20 when I was engineering there. I hope this helps.

I use the Townsend Sphere L22 it emulates every mic on his list. I normally just leave mine on the C800 emultaion into apollo with neve preamp

@@archiebeatz That sounds great! Eagerly anticipating that upload! I’d recommend the SE Voodoo VR2 (an active ribbon) as perhaps a budget option to the AEAs. I use it for my saxophone recording studio business and sounds awesome especially bearing it mind it costs under $500.
The TLM 102 and my go to at the moment is a toss up better Nt1A and the Aston Spirit

Is there anyway you would ever test a WA-8000? I’m someone who is obsessed with the C-800G but can’t afford it. The WA-8000 seems like it could be a fantastic alternative for me, but I don’t know if I trust the hype. I would love to hear your opinions.

The WA-8000…I own it. Absolutely worth the price. Most of these guys are straight from the GearSnobs comments section. I actually own snd use the mic. It’s incredible when paired with a 737. 👍🏽
My dream microphone is the handheld SHURE SM61
I actually own a Tfunk 251. I felt like the C800G sound is not super unique and I could use a lot of different mics for that kind of sound. You can't really do that as easily with a 251 sound. You can get a Manley, Cm800t, etc. and get that modern bright sound that you'd use a Sony for. You're not really going to be able to just grab another mic and EQ the sound of a 251 into it like you can with a Sony. That's an oversimplification, but those that know engineering know what I mean.

My Favorite Mic is a Shure Sm 57 I Record with it all the Time I use it on everthing I dont use My Neumann u87 anymore With all these Plug ins thats out here You dont need all that expensive Stuff Good Singers and Good Musician Good Engineering

Hey bro just an fyi, I had the exact same speech impediment as you. Not that you need it, but if you ever want to correct that issue and don’t know where to start seriously consider speech therapy. I went once a week and practiced 15 mins a day for 3 months and that shit was gone. Just a suggestion bro ! Nice video

If you want to get a sense of what the Shure SM7 sounds like on vocals, the multitracks for various songs from Thriller have, ahem, found their way onto the Internet. I don't actually think the dry vocals sound great, but that just goes to show what you can achieve with a great singer, a great producer, a great engineer, and a cheap microphone.
My current microphone for vocals is a Shure KSM27, which I think sounds pretty great. I am hoping to upgrade to a Neumann TLM 103 this year. (Billie Eilish also uses this mic).

I have it. It's a solid mic being warm and smooth. You need the right preamp for it tho to shine.

@@A2JMusicMinistries i would say it's definitely a different mic. It has tube like characteristics but it's clean transparent with warm tube feel. It's definitely worth it man.
