I agree with you about Lauton Audio I've been using the Lauton Audio clarion fc-357 and yes it a big boy but I love the sound you can get right up on it and not blow out the sound.

Switches polar patterns, high or low pass filters all add noise to your mic, but you might need em to capture a performance.
Just ordered the CV12. It's difficult to get here in Rio de Janeiro. Ordered from Sweetwater and expecting a 60% customs tax, but hopefully the mic will shine. Next I will get the Slate mic but its like 2x the price here.
I will do a video on the townsend, Putnam an ocean way mics when I have a chance.

Is the avantone good with the apollo twin? Won’t it be to much since the apollo is already a preamp plus i have the Avalon
that combination will only make it sound better in my opinion… experiment with power management (gain staging between all 3 units) and you’ll have vocals that sound like butter

Rode k2 67 style mic, Your C12 is a bit noisy try a lewitt 441, 540 or 640 and run it through tube pre with tubes on the input and output or a tone beast pre or UAD twin finity , or 610 pre, oh lastly poor man's c12 cad m179 is 414 son. it has only 12 db self noise . Your welcome!
Cv12 sounds sometimes to nasly
19 db noise floor is your enemy anything that approaches is not good. 10 dba self noise on the rode with its own power supply no phantom power needed.
