Rose gold works for jaeger lecoultre especially the reverso on a strap. Yacht Master on rubber :) 20k Rose Gold Daytona looks like a 200$ michael kors. Yellow gold all the way
The best thing I will do is a two-toned. I wore an all gold watch and ehhh I was not really into it. Also I would buy a smaller sized watch when I wear a gold. I wore a 40mm gold watch and it stuck put like a sore thumb. 36-38 would be the size for a gold I would pick.
I remember wearing my Breguet 7727 in rose gold through airport security at JFK. Got a beep. TSA pulled me out and used the wand. The confusion on dude's face when the wand made NO SOUND going over the Breguet. It was like it wasn't there. The beeping turned out to be metal studs on my shorts. HaHa.
They hate me at TSA JFK I need to watch my watch when its in the basket. Or I have a watch in my carry on. I watch my watch like a hawk. Beware Miami it is worse.
A stainless Rolex (etc.) has the same movement as a gold model. In the Day/Date, there’s around $1000 worth of gold. The cost difference, of course, is profound. So, for me, while my PP may be in 18K gold, I won’t buy most watches in anything but stainless.
You're my favorite watch youtuber! I'm graduating my nursing program and wanted advice on my first Rolex if you don't mind answering. I really like the submariner date. Do you think this would be a first, one and only watch? I really like it. Thanks!
A solid gold watch is harder to pull off without appearing douchey, especially for younger gentlemen. That being said I'd wear a solid gold watch on a leather band.
Nice topic and well done. Yes, (yellow) gold is awesome. It takes a mix of courage and confidence to wear something like the yellow gold DayDate as an everyday piece, with it’s boastful all-gold bracelet. I’m always intrigued when I see one in the wild-usually on an octogenarian.
If I had the money i'd go for white gold or platinum over any other precious metal, personally I just prefer that colour, I think gold is a bit too loud.
I am more of a steel guy. But, of course, I have a gold wedding ring, so I have to, somehow, match that, so I have to at least have some golden hands and dial indices, which are very nice.
Frederico you're totally right about the Panerai, but in my opinion many golden Panerais look really good, even thought it doesn't make any Sense. If you can see the watch more out of the box, just How beautiful design it is, which still appreciates the history
Had a gold blue 116618 and choose to let it go as gold is hard to wear in Germany and the regular business here. A shame if you ask me. Back to two tone, enjoy the bling of the gold parts combined with the strength of the steel. What shall one do, I am a child of the 80's... Good vid mate, enioyed it.
High grade titanium is very light and very scratch resistant - my Breitling Aerospace is unmarked after a lot of wear. My Seiko Titanium Divers however is much lower quality titanium and scratches as easily as steel. Light and comfortable though!
Perhaps best of both worlds: the two-tone. For some time I've had my eye on a traditional looking Rolex DateJust Ref. 126333. Some think it's an old fashioned look. I happen to like it, a lot.
I agree with your general comment that sport watches shouldn’t be in gold. I love my steel sport watches. On the dress side I think it’s a deferent story most of these look better in gold, but as you point out the cost difference in price makes me step back most of the time. I have two gold and steel dress watches that seem to solve the problem nicely. I also notice that the delta between gold and steel is a bit less on the Zenith s I particularly love the Lite Captain Dual time in either gold or steel but more in steel.
I prefer my classics (my husband and myself own vintage 10k Omegas in gold) but for every day beaters steel or steel and gold. My 1985 Rolex is two tone and I love it. AND, since I'm also a Pandora bracelet collector the two tone watches are killer everywhere. Maybe some day a Cartier Tank in gold...
Great. Video. I love both. Agree on Panerai. Classic dress watches in white, rose or yellow are great (white g reverso, gold dubois et fils, Rolex two tone date just are all enhanced with gold Glad you are back!!
Federico, Once again, congratulations. I think gold makes a statement. However, I agree with you, not every watch can carry it. Obviously, Rolex in gold is a show stopper. Hublot and AP divers are amazing (without the gold bracelet). ALS and dress Patek's rock gold. However, Patek sport in steel is iconic. What do you think of white gold and platinum? To me, these are more for the user and their personal take. Rose and Yellow Gold are more outwardly facing.
I love gold. Specially yellow gold. Currently have a royal oak and green dial gmt. Looking for a jlc reverso also in yellow gold but not sure what model... any suggestions?
Gold bracelet watches may be considered a bit full-on by some but on a leather strap there is something charming about gold. You didn't mention weight either, certain watches feel so much nicer in gold since it is heavy and gives the impression of quality over the lighter steel versions. Also the price drop when buying a secondhand gold watch is often bigger than its steel counterpart, but then it is also less available... I am guessing that certain watches are going to offer better value and then retain better in gold but I haven't a crystal ball to know this for sure.
I love my Rolex everose Yactmaster with black bezel and black oyster flex bracelet. The gold is subdued with all the black with just a flash of coppery gold. Not gaudy or blingy at all. A tasteful watch, not a show-off watch.
Congratulations for the Piaget , Piaget is a very exclusive watch . My mother`s love for Piaget caught me , I guess she and many women celebrities love it cause it`s a Jewelary watch . Please Federico , we want an in depth review of this Magnificent brand .
Love the videos...I would agree highlighting the watches at your new store would help sales and also it would be informative to the customers. Love what you do and your passion comes through with every video...
It’s a very case by case question. Brands use 18k gold and there’s no uniformity for how they form that other 25% or whether they use surface treatments. Then there’s pricing …. Sometimes it’s a $2k upgrade but sometimes it’s a $30k upgrade. The cost of a gold GMT Master from Rolex is ~$40k compared to $10k to $15k for steel.
Hi Federico, big fan of yours and your expertise. According to another you tube channel guy, Omega speedmaster looks cheap watch with famous name. His description of some parts of the watch, really makes me thinking, is it worth it getting one or go with watch where the name matches characteristics. For example Mido ocean star captain-powermatic 80 titanium case and bracelet. Very decent accuracy and looks robust. Thank you for your time. Good video by the way
So out of curiosity, do you know if Patek make their own steel cases for the Nautilus and Aquanaut considering that most of their pieces are precious metals?
Federico, one thing I have noticed is that yellow gold Rolex day dates seem to lose a huge amount of value on the used market. I see decent ones for a third of retail. Would be interested in your take on that.
Federico, I haven't seen a single video about Zenith watches..do you consider them a good brand to buy.? And how would you categorize them among other famous brand Such as JL, VC...Thanks AL
Steel Rolex Yacht 2 blue bezel or 2 tone Gold Yacht Master 2 blue bezel? I have a 2 tone sub thats over 20 years old and still looks fab never polished.
Personally I love gold, my grail right now is the Daytona oysterflex in yellow gold. If I had the money, my whole collection would be gold: 5170r black dial, ap 15204, datograph up down, mb&f lm101 frost and the Daytona. That's the dream
I got one question Federico, I'm thinking buying mum a Rolex Datejust or Cartier Tank watch? Which one would you prefer? Or which is the best :) price is no object for me.. Thank you for the help.
For me personally it depends on the dial. For example I can’t imagine the meteorite dial on the stainless or two tone watches. But at the same time I think meteorite dial on stainless steel would make the watch extremely expensive.
hey..fed... im a big fan and i hope youd answer me... because i think youre the only one who can answer me because youve mentioned it once. i have a g. reverso 976 black dial with circular second dial... why dont i see it a lot online and rarely seen on forums... is it just rare or what. thanks so much
What I've found is that the more understated the watch's design/dial is the more I like them in a precious metal. So like a Rolex Datejust or a Nomos Lambada or the clean dial Grand Seikos look amazing to me. But as always to each his own
You should add some more affordable watches like seikos tissot, hamilton, oris, fortis, marathon maybe some watches for under $1000 although you do have some beautiful watches now
Dear Federico! I am an amateur watch enthusiast and I love your channel. I'd like to ask you two questions: first, what do you think of titanium watches? I really like their low weight but I found that they are just too easy to scratch (I have a titanium-case Orient and a Citizen). What do you think is the best case material anyway? Secondly, what do you think of the watch brand Zelos, and their new model, Helmsman 2? Thank you!
I think gold watches overall look better on dark skin tones. I can get having a gold dress watch with a black leather band, but gold(en) bracelet is too much unless you have a dark skin. Just reeking of "showoffness" to me.
It's 1 year later, but you are exactly right. Silver actually looks quite bad on my skin. I make sure every piece of the limited amount of jewelry I own is gold.
People get tired of polishing them every month. Silver tarnishes when worn on the skin, and if you don't polish away the tarnished spots they can in turn stain the skin.
You left out one significant con: gold diggers. And a significant pro: gold diggers.
Mightbe Sherwood funny bro!!!! 👍🏼
How could he miss that one?
haha...but how is that a pro?
@@drew4021for casual sex
Nothing beats rose-gold...such a beautiful warm tone without being too contrasting against the skin.
Rose gold works for jaeger lecoultre especially the reverso on a strap. Yacht Master on rubber :)
20k Rose Gold Daytona looks like a 200$ michael kors. Yellow gold all the way
Especially if you’re as white as me
Agree, underrated by masculinity.
I like steel and gold, but my Rolex Day-Date in yellow gold is my favorite wearer
HaHa.
OMFG! But it's a BEAUTIFUL watch... Someday!
They hate me at TSA JFK I need to watch my watch when its in the basket. Or I have a watch in my carry on. I watch my watch like a hawk. Beware Miami it is worse.
I think the blue ceramic two tone submariner is a great compromise.
Steel for sport watches, gold for all dress watches
I like the idea of a small gold watch on leather(alligator) strap, like the vasheron constantin traditionelle small seconds. That is class.
Gold just looks significantly better on my skin so every watch I own or ever will own will just be gold. Good video though.
federico, u have such a great depth of knowledge of watches. I can't stop listening to your videos. great topic
Just subscribed your channel man. You don’t just have knowledge but you can explain and articulate it succinctly!
A stainless Rolex (etc.) has the same movement as a gold model. In the Day/Date, there’s around $1000 worth of gold. The cost difference, of course, is profound. So, for me, while my PP may be in 18K gold, I won’t buy most watches in anything but stainless.

I got pale skin so I was wondering what watch better goes with pale skin contrast Gold or silver?
Silver is the best for you. Cool tones look better with silver and warm tones look better with gold.
Great to see you doing what you do best Fed! Cheers from Sao Paulo Brazil!
Thanks David. Glad you enjoyed it!
Buy steel new, buy gold/two tone used. My Rolex law to live by!
It is a smart rolex law! 👍👑
A solid gold watch is harder to pull off without appearing douchey, especially for younger gentlemen. That being said I'd wear a solid gold watch on a leather band.
raze I think a Rolex day date yellow gold looks really cool with a 3 piece suit. Conor mcgregor perfected that image in my mind.
Neil :} …a Rolex yes….most other makes…not so much..
Steel over Gold for me as well, except for the Rolex Day Date- want to own one and love it in yellow gold.
I'm a steel watch fan but my wife appreciates the rich warmth and prestige of gold. Each to their own hey Federico😉
Hi Federico. Great video. Glad to watch another video again. I prefer a steel watch but I wouldn't refuse a gold cartier tank
I love the rose gold Omega Planet Ocean
Thanks, Federico, for sharing your joy of watches with us.
Best of luck Federico. I browsed the site and it looks fantastic. Will definitely be shopping there soon.
Too kind man. Thanks for the support!
Hi plz answer me
What is the best shiny and luster
Yellow gold 18 k or stainsteel or white gold
Thanx

That Devosa got my vote I love the Valjoux 7750 movement it has a great history and a story similar to the Zenith El primero movement
What about a gold & steel hybrid, like Blue dial Orient Star Retrograde?
Great video Federico. Good luck on your new project!
Thank you so much Ricardo!
Very informative Video. Thanks, Fed!
Gold and two tone is what I prefer and also that Piaget emperador is beautiful! Is it rhodium plated or is it like a white gold rolex?
If I had the money i'd go for white gold or platinum over any other precious metal, personally I just prefer that colour, I think gold is a bit too loud.
I am more of a steel guy. But, of course, I have a gold wedding ring, so I have to, somehow, match that, so I have to at least have some golden hands and dial indices, which are very nice.
Can't afford a gold watch. But I think they are great. They normally come in more sophisticated designs. They also look new even after years of use.
Frederico you're totally right about the Panerai, but in my opinion many golden Panerais look really good, even thought it doesn't make any Sense. If you can see the watch more out of the box, just How beautiful design it is, which still appreciates the history
I would like you to discuss white gold vs. platinum.

Good vid mate, enioyed it.
I enjoy that website a lot. I just started a watch collection
I love gold watches but in particular the one I like the most its the Rolex President 36mm in yellow or rose gold.
what about titanium and tantalum ? are they stronger or not really? cheers fed
Titanium is stronger and lighter.
what about tantalum any ideas? like the f p journe chronomate blue
Federico Talks Watches I'm in downtown on Atlantic Ave! Where in Delray are you?
We are actually in Hollywood Beach lol
High grade titanium is very light and very scratch resistant - my Breitling Aerospace is unmarked after a lot of wear. My Seiko Titanium Divers however is much lower quality titanium and scratches as easily as steel. Light and comfortable though!

I like both gold and steel watches. I think they should also make watch in silver.
Like both steel for everyday & gold for dress
I agree with your general comment that sport watches shouldn’t be in gold. I love my steel sport watches. I also notice that the delta between gold and steel is a bit less on the Zenith s I particularly love the Lite Captain Dual time in either gold or steel but more in steel.
I like both. I have a gold swatch and a steel swiss sport that I wear with my silver chain.
42mm panerai model that you recommend?
I prefer my classics (my husband and myself own vintage 10k Omegas in gold) but for every day beaters steel or steel and gold. My 1985 Rolex is two tone and I love it. My retirement watch Gold Omega Constellation. Can't wait just a few more years.
Hey Federico, I have a 70s 2tone date just & a royal oak 15400st in white dial. I am looking to buy another watch, what do you advice me to get?
I wear steel. Although I really want gold not gold plated though. Still new to the watch world as for the longest I only wore gshock.
I love gold. Specially yellow gold. Currently have a royal oak and green dial gmt. Looking for a jlc reverso also in yellow gold but not sure what model... any suggestions?
white gold....under the radar, looks like SS to the masses, but those in the know, give that little nod. yessir, yessir

federico what do you think about pam422?
Love the videos...I would agree highlighting the watches at your new store would help sales and also it would be informative to the customers. Love what you do and your passion comes through with every video...
Is Submariner half gold considered a good choice than SS ?
Pros and cons of platinum, paaladium and tantalum would be an interesting topic.
I visited the website. Good job! I wish you the best. 👍🏻
Hi Federico I'd like to know what brand of glasses you are wearing. I like your sense of fashion maybe you could do a video about it.
Time has a way of changing tastes, and I think for as out of style as gold is today...we will see a resurgence.
It’s a very case by case question. Brands use 18k gold and there’s no uniformity for how they form that other 25% or whether they use surface treatments.

Federico! What brand of eyewear are you wearing in this video?
The show has never looked better Fed keep up the great vids 😈🤘🏻
Fed, can you do an episode on the different options for steel day-dates.
Thanks Fed. Great vid!
Federico, do you think the steel Sky-Dweller might be a trial balloon for a steel Day-Date?
I think a small diameter dress watch can pull off gold. I also like titanium.

Its very subjective... All depends what you prefer. Both are icons.
Federico Talks Watches mmm good point! Guess I have to ask mum for her style. Thank you again!
For me personally it depends on the dial. For example I can’t imagine the meteorite dial on the stainless or two tone watches. But at the same time I think meteorite dial on stainless steel would make the watch extremely expensive.
Best bang for the buck self winding Panerai Fed? Thank you.
I pretty much prefer steel. Totally agree with you on the gold Panerai.
Depends on the model. I actually just made a deal for my first piece with bracelet (5711/1r). Can't wait for it to get here!!!
hey..fed... im a big fan and i hope youd answer me... because i think youre the only one who can answer me because youve mentioned it once.

Fed you are the best ....
I have two tone bluesy but I can't get the solid gold sub out of my head, thx Fed
Yeah I prefer the gold I tried the steel date just but the yellow gold day date doesn’t hurt my wrist bone
Fed - - how much did you pay for your Omega Chronoscope
I saw one I am interested in and want a comparison
hey john, shoot me an email at fed@delraywatch.com
I bought my first ever watch just 2 days ago from chrono24. 11618 Rolex yellow gold submariner 2018. Im so grateful, I can't wait to wear it.
I'd like to see a gold Hamilton Ventura. Although the Ventura is a mid priced watch, I really think it would have a good look.
What about steel vs black?
Great Video!
You should add some more affordable watches like seikos tissot, hamilton, oris, fortis, marathon maybe some watches for under $1000 although you do have some beautiful watches now
Would love to see some information and history on the anniversary gold GMT
Hi Federico, can you do a review of Rolex Cellini Automatic range
Dear Federico! I am an amateur watch enthusiast and I love your channel. I'd like to ask you two questions: first, what do you think of titanium watches? I really like their low weight but I found that they are just too easy to scratch (I have a titanium-case Orient and a Citizen). What do you think is the best case material anyway?
Secondly, what do you think of the watch brand Zelos, and their new model, Helmsman 2?
Thank you!

I think for rose gold suits better on brown and dark skin tones.
Love gold submariner.
White gold for the weight!
Stupid question. Why does nobody use silver for watch cases?
People get tired of polishing them every month. Silver tarnishes when worn on the skin, and if you don't polish away the tarnished spots they can in turn stain the skin.
