- Vinnie Jones fue un centrocampista británico/galés que ganó fama gracias a su violento estilo de juego y carrera como actor de cine. En este partido expulsan al portero de su equipo y al haber realizado todos los cambios, no quedó otra alternativa que un jugador de campo lo sustituya. El partido terminó con un abultado 6 a 1, pero Vinnie Jones tuvo una correcta actuación.

The Newcastle fans were cheering for Vinnie when he was making saves against their team. 😂
That's called appreciation in the football.
When an out field player goes in net and makes some terrific fuckin saves all the the fans around that stadium will show their appreciation. Football ain't just about cheering your own and ignoring your opponents for 90mins. A moment of magic, a great tackle, an amazing save, even a great pass will have everyone off their seats.
And the Toon Army are up there with the best football fans in the world.
But let's not forget Jones did concede 3 at least so the Toon fans could enjoy the game more relaxed as he didnt save every shot... in other words there's a hint of irony in there cheers too... 🤔
Think that would of happened any most British clubs in the 90s... real fans still who had some sportsmanship. Not sure it would happen today. Stopped watching football about about over 10 years ago... just not the same game. Love watching the old Big Match reruns.

Jones actually didn’t do poorly as a GK here. He was aggressive, got his hands to the ball most of the time, distributed the ball effectively, and came off the line well. His diving technique needed a little work, but he did the job. His positioning could have been better too.

судя по всему Ньюкасл и так вел, могли бы и уважение проявить не добивать, помнится Ювентус тоже раскатывал Палермо 3-0, только там к моменту удаления вратаря уже 10 на 11 Палермо играли без замен , 11 против 9 Ювентус просто перестал бить по воротам, так и докатали 3-0, хотя намечался разгром полный

Notaron como a medida que pasa el partido parece que tiene más confianza? Al principio comete algún error y despeja los balones, pero al final las ataja sin problemas. Además 2 de los goles que le meten dudo habrían sido difíciles de tapar incluso para un portero de élite. En definitiva, no lo hizo para nada mal
Y se lanzo tremenda tapada con los pies en el minuto 1:43 del video
Y tanto hubiera sido mejor que le dejaran de portero en vez de de centrocampista sobre todo para sus rivales y asi no le hubiran expulsado las 12 veces que lo hicieron

Actually looked a lot more solid than Hans Segars, although he was later accused of match fixing…
Lol I remember that game - I was so hoping he’d keep a clean sheet but then Lee Clark scored that screamer! Then we saw he is human with a bit of a mistake for the Ferdinand goal... otherwise a really excellent effort lol couldn’t do much about Albert finding the top corner lol sterling stuff! I miss that era... when we had the class foreigners but they hadn’t ruined the game yet lol
