4:53 You didn’t show what happend next. This guy got second yellow card and was sent off, then VAR called ref to the monitor, referee told to bring back the player who thought that ref made a mistake and will let him play. When he came back ref showed him straight red which made the suspension longer 😂😂
It happened again in January 31st, 2024, when a Moroccan player, Sofyan Amrabat, was sent off after receiving two yellow cards. The referee called him back after checking VAR and gave him a straight red card. The game was between South Africa vs Morocco in African Cup of Nations. Morocco lost.
IMO a bad use for VAR. VAR shcoul be used to avoid ref mistakes that change the outcome of the match. There is no difference for the match whether the player is out on second yellow or straight red. All that did was causing addifional confusion and waste some time. They should rather just porlonged the suspension on the green table after the match.
The Roy Keane red card is outrageous. He had one thing on his mind that game and that was to hurt Haaland. The way he got in his face when the medics were around him is savage!
