This is basically what the Church teaches in the “Communion of saints”. Good sermon on praying for our deceased brethren.

Thank God for Purgatory. Otherwise only perfect people would go to Heaven (Revelation 21:27).
ONLY THE PERFECT DO GO TO HEAVEN. THEY ARE MADE PERFECT IN PURGATORY, THEN THEY ASCEND. NOTHING IMPERFECT CAN ENTER HEAVEN.

Great video!!! Answered even more unresolved questions which I have been stumped by whenever they came up in Catholic or even non-Catholic discussions. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass as well as praying the Rosary in the state of grace are two of the most efficacious ways to relieve the holy souls in Purgatory. The prayer of St. Gertrude recited 3 times daily along with the holy Rosary is a great way to start this pious devotion. Pray for these holy souls because they are the only ones worthy of your friendship!
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen
yes indeed. I say Holy Mass for them almost daily & the St. Gertrude prayers. Say the Holy Mass for them.

THERE IS NO SUCH PLACE AS 'LIMBO.' IT WAS THE MENTAL STATE THE PRIESTS WERE IN TRYING TO DECIDE WHERE INFANTS WENT IF THEY WERE NOT BAPTIZED. THEY COULD NOT FIGURE IT OUT & SAID THE ANSWER WAS IN 'LIMBO' OR UNDETERMINED.

Can I offer mass and not attend the mass,those in the church can help me obtain grace for the soul in purgatory?
You can, though it is recommended that you be present in that Mass (Requiem Mass)
This sermon is NOT THEOLOGICALLY CORRECT.
It should be clarified that the merit of an action CANNOT be given to another person: only the satisfactory value of the good deed can. Also, someone in the state of mortal sin DOES NOT merit NOR are his good works satisfactory. Therefore you cannot apply them to the souls in purgatory, since you're not "earning" anything. See St. Thomas Aquinas.
SPLITTING HAIRS? I HAVE READ ST. THOMAS LOTS, HE IS GREAT. The way I explain it GRACE of your good deeds, merits, goes to the Souls in Purgatory when you ask or have done the Heroic Act.
There is absolutely nothing you can do for those that have died. Scripture says that it is appointed once for man to die then judgement. So if they didn't die in the Lord, their eternal destiny was sealed when they were alive.
So let's visit this so called purgatory. Who determines who goes to purgatory? How do you know when they get to purgatory? Do they tell you "I'm here". How do you know when they get out of purgatory? Do they call you or send somebody a message? Who is that somebody? The reason for this last question is that scripture in Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 say that "the dead know not a thing". So would somebody please answer these questions.

You pick out 6 words out of the entire Bible & act like you just defeated the 2000yr old church that Christ Our Lord started. There’s much evidence of purgatory. Using the Protestant logic nobody gets in bc only the pure can get it so if you’re not 100% clean you’re in hell according to protties. & guess who doesn’t determine if you’re clean or not…. You aka the individual. It’s the old line ‘christ did all the dying so you can do all the sinning then tell Him to let you in like you deserve it’

But 2 Maccabees 12:46 says that it is a good and wholesome thing to pray for the dead, that they might be loosed from their sins.
