Lassance, his book includes numerous prayers with attached indulgences for the holy souls in purgatory; he also explains the conditions for receiving such indulgences. Yes, his book is over a century old; but wow 😯 it’s packed with literally ALL the information you’ll ever wanna know about purgatory, including evidence for its existence and two different theological views about it. i'm bginning to be very fearful about purgatory and hell; no one at Church is teaching or speaking about how to avoid or reduce time there. Unless I stumble onto things on the internet there's just very little forming take aways from the very short homilies. Do priests outside of traditional backgrounds even believe in this?
They are careless of their own salvation. Do they remember their vocation is to lead souls to heaven, ministering to the spiritual needs of the souls placed in their care.

I pray, go to mass, and to confession. I struggle with sin that I see, but fail to see all of my faults. I also must work and sleep. I'm too weak to do much more. I am a little weak soul. So, I trust in God to rescue and save me.

Me too, I go to FSSP trad mess since 2021. I can confess my sins as often as my soul needs it. I can remain in church after mass, for prayer , adoration, and reparation, for me, my dead relatives, and for conversion of my family. The 1hour ride to get there is worth it !!! Novus ordo bishops and Cardinals, here prefer to follow the gov criterias, and pray with "turkey bones &feathers" instead of opening churches for Euch Adoration 1 evening a week. At FSSP parish,I hear about mortal sin, hell, purgatoire and heaven. Am not lukewarm anymore. I follow the 10 Comd'ts. I pray now to repair my sins as much as I can..

Nowadays it's quite difficult to pray after mass for they'll basically want to close the church after mass. When I was young chapels and Churches were basically open 24 hours and can be a refuge for those who were somehow troubled or whoever want to seek solace and comfort in God but not anymore today. And we wonder why so many are lost? God help us and be merciful to us.

The Brown Scapular is so efficacious for sanctification. I've been faithfully wearing mine for about 4 years now. People should know that any priest can perform the short (10 min.) enrollment; just call a priest, set an appointment, and go! Never take it off and don't be ashamed if it is seen around one's neck. I'm female and I don't mind if people see the brown cords around my neck, although I do wear the main part of it inside my clothes. Daily rosary, daily Divine Mercy chaplet, and wearing the brown scapular non-stop has made huge differences in my spiritual life.

I saw a video of St Pio as he prayed his rosary while doing some other thing. He “prayed always”. So I’ve started praying my rosary 📿 even during distraction (but I do keep 1 hour of prayer where I do concentrate daily) I’m hoping I can one day do both my chore/activity AND pray with attention. All this effort can be applied to the holy souls… and priests… and those who will die today… etc.

When dealing with habitual sin, and being in the State of Grace, remember… guilt is good and shame is not. God hears your prayers even when you’re not in a state of grace. Don’t feel shame and image yourself unworthy. If you have sinned, and afterwards speak in sinu Jesu you are being transformed regardless if you have been to confession; just as long as you go to the next available confession or can request a private one.

Yes, you will be afraid. I am also, but I know I have path to Him. It is narrow, but God knows we are mere mortals with an eternal soul. When you pray whether it's your own words or the words of the many prayers there are, pray with the words clutched to your heart. When at mass listen to every word with a contrite heart. Too many people go to mass because they think they have to go to gain grace. They are there to punch the time card. The mass is not for you. It is to pay homage and bear witness to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Say the Rosary with all your love. Go to mass a half hour early and say it. Your soul does not belong to you. It is God's, and it must return to him. Do not let the deceiver try to rob it with his evil oppression and temptations. Be strong. Follow the way of the Saints. Every one of us dies alone even if we have loved ones surrounding us. It's just you and Jesus. Will He call your name or say He doesn't know you. Remarkable....soo well said and in such detail....this is what was jettisoned thanks to Vatican II for the past 60+ years the treasure house of grace that few know little about. One caveat - don't become obsessive - measure the time you have and if you're just starting out ramp up and watch out for pride in ones heart. I know mention was made about the gain of 'communal' recitation of the daily rosary but I have shied away from such due to the speed it is said and the noise made by one or two who seem to need to dominate.
I suffer from extreme social anxiety to the point that l can't even ask a Priest to enroll me in the Brown Scapular, let alone pray in a group rosary..

I know you find that hard to believe but his sin was assuming and believing he could get no forgiveness for his sin of betrayal of Our Lord. The sin of pride - humble yourself and seek a good confessor - you shall be so glad you did.
This homily shows what is meant of the fear of God. We maybe forgiven for a sin, but we need to pay restitution. Love God with your whole heart, and fear the great power He has. Yes, you will be terrified, but you will know the Truth. Stretch out your arms and invite Him into your heart and soul. He has given us the way to Him, but no one wants to put the work and sacrifice to do it. Try as hard as you can. Give up the vices. Don't just pray, but "sincerely" pray. Eternity is more important than anything in this world.

Pray for priests please and the religious fore they are under greater attacks by the temptaions of the flesh and demons. Even more so that us because demons focus on souls consecrated to God even more so.
Join the Srven Sisters Apostolate and firm a group at your Parish to pray for your priest. Seven women each take a day of the week and pray for priest. Ideally you pray before Blessed Sacrament.
A Must Watch for every Catholic! I had the Gregorian masses said for my loved ones. This is 30 masses said for a soul which was given to a Saint to release a Soul. It is around 300 Dollars. Google it to find a friary that does this. It is actually forbidden for Priests to eulogize a soul as a Saint. They are not even to mention their names. Please pray for a Catholic who lost his wife last month. His wife asked for her ashes to be spread over an ocean. He spoke to a Priest who said he could spread a portion of the ashes to respect her wishes. This is WRONG!! all of us must be buried in a Catholic cemetery in their entirety.
Lol yes, anxiety at realizing how hard it is to save ourselves can be very depressing. This is why we must learn to trust in Jesus. While we must do our best, and turn our wills to God, what every person must do is realize that we save ourselves through the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ alone. So once you realize you can rely on Jesus, who will forgive you if you’re really sorry and do penance… Suddenly it does seem easier.❤

There's no purgatory as scripture says He will change us in a twinkling of an eye: 1 Cor 15:51-53 KJV Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Yes, we need to lay down sin in this life, with the help of the Holy Spirit, but He will complete the work. 1 Pe 5:10 KJV But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

I pray, go to mass, and to confession. I struggle with sin that I see, but fail to see all of my faults. I also must work and sleep. I'm too weak to do much more. I am a little weak soul. So, I trust in God to rescue and save me.

9 years in Catholic school and I never heard ANY of this. I’m thankful for this channel and for the traditional parish I belong to now that I’ve returned to the faith. It’s terrifying how many souls are being led to purgatory-and worse, hell, due to lack of proper formation.

Me too, I go to FSSP trad mess since 2021. I can confess my sins as often as my soul needs it. I can remain in church after mass, for prayer , adoration, and reparation, for me, my dead relatives, and for conversion of my family. The 1hour ride to get there is worth it !!! Novus ordo bishops and Cardinals, here prefer to follow the gov criterias, and pray with "turkey bones &feathers" instead of opening churches for Euch Adoration 1 evening a week. At FSSP parish,I hear about mortal sin, hell, purgatoire and heaven. Am not lukewarm anymore. I follow the 10 Comd'ts. I pray now to repair my sins as much as I can..

Nowadays it's quite difficult to pray after mass for they'll basically want to close the church after mass. When I was young chapels and Churches were basically open 24 hours and can be a refuge for those who were somehow troubled or whoever want to seek solace and comfort in God but not anymore today. And we wonder why so many are lost? God help us and be merciful to us.

The Brown Scapular is so efficacious for sanctification. I've been faithfully wearing mine for about 4 years now. People should know that any priest can perform the short (10 min.) enrollment; just call a priest, set an appointment, and go! Never take it off and don't be ashamed if it is seen around one's neck. I'm female and I don't mind if people see the brown cords around my neck, although I do wear the main part of it inside my clothes. Daily rosary, daily Divine Mercy chaplet, and wearing the brown scapular non-stop has made huge differences in my spiritual life.
Nakkatakot naman, my 75 yrs hindi ko alam ang usage ng brown scapular, why and how to wear it, i thought the pain am suffering is like hell, hindi pala more pa, kala ko ang sakit na narranasan ko😢 ay sakit ng nasa purgatory more pa pala now i know why we have to pray for souls in purgatory..i need more knowledge about purgatory and hell...

I saw a video of St Pio as he prayed his rosary while doing some other thing. He “prayed always”. So I’ve started praying my rosary 📿 even during distraction (but I do keep 1 hour of prayer where I do concentrate daily) I’m hoping I can one day do both my chore/activity AND pray with attention. All this effort can be applied to the holy souls… and priests… and those who will die today… etc.

This is really clear and simple: trusting in Jesus will cleanse us from ALL sin and ALL unrighteousness. No mention of purgatory. Jesus on the cross said, "It is finished." Notice He didn't say, "It is almost or mostly finished."

When dealing with habitual sin, and being in the State of Grace, remember… guilt is good and shame is not. God hears your prayers even when you’re not in a state of grace. Don’t feel shame and image yourself unworthy. If you have sinned, and afterwards speak in sinu Jesu you are being transformed regardless if you have been to confession; just as long as you go to the next available confession or can request a private one.
Also remember the Plenary Indulgences which remits all of the temporal punishment due to sin, providing you fulfil all the required conditions.

Yes, you will be afraid. I am also, but I know I have path to Him. It is narrow, but God knows we are mere mortals with an eternal soul. When you pray whether it's your own words or the words of the many prayers there are, pray with the words clutched to your heart. When at mass listen to every word with a contrite heart. Too many people go to mass because they think they have
to go to gain grace. They are there to punch the time card. The mass is not for you. It is to pay homage and bear witness to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Say the Rosary with all your love. Go to mass a half hour early and say it. Your soul does not belong to you. It is God's, and it must return to him. Do not let the deceiver try to rob it with his evil oppression and temptations. Be strong. Follow the way of the Saints. Every one of us dies alone even if we have loved ones surrounding us. It's just you and Jesus. Will He call your name or say He doesn't know you. Pray the prayer for those in Purgatory:

I recently got a copy of The Holy Souls Book- Reflections on Purgatory, by Fr. Lasance, and it's excellent.
Thank you Father for reminding us of the value of time and the treasure our Faith offers us to live and die attaining Salvation.
Remarkable....soo well said and in such detail....this is what was jettisoned thanks to Vatican II for the past 60+ years the treasure house of grace that few know little about. One caveat - don't become obsessive - measure the time you have and if you're just starting out ramp up and watch out for pride in ones heart. I know mention was made about the gain of 'communal' recitation of the daily rosary but I have shied away from such due to the speed it is said and the noise made by one or two who seem to need to dominate.
Get involved. You can lead and bring reverence to the resuscitation. God Bless.
I suffer from extreme social anxiety to the point that l can't even ask a Priest to enroll me in the Brown Scapular, let alone pray in a group rosary..
@@TF80s You're tiptoeing in the sin that Judas committed - the one that has no forgiveness - the sin against the Holy Spirit. I know you find that hard to believe but his sin was assuming and believing he could get no forgiveness for his sin of betrayal of Our Lord. The sin of pride - humble yourself and seek a good confessor - you shall be so glad you did.
This homily shows what is meant of the fear of God. We maybe forgiven for a sin, but we need to pay restitution. Love God with your whole heart, and fear the great power He has. Yes, you will be terrified, but
you will know the Truth. Stretch out your arms and invite Him into your heart and soul. He has given us the way to Him, but no one wants to put the work and sacrifice to do it. Try as hard as you can. Give up the vices. Don't just pray, but "sincerely" pray. Eternity is more important than anything in this world.

Pray for priests please and the religious fore they are under greater attacks by the temptaions of the flesh and demons. Even more so that us because demons focus on souls consecrated to God even more so.
Join the Srven Sisters Apostolate and firm a group at your Parish to pray for your priest. Seven women each take a day of the week and pray for priest. Ideally you pray before Blessed Sacrament.

I had the Gregorian masses said for my loved ones. This is 30 masses said for a soul which was given to a Saint to release a Soul.
It is around 300 Dollars. Google it to find a friary that does this.
It is actually forbidden for Priests to eulogize a soul as a Saint. They are not even to mention their names. Please pray for a Catholic who lost his wife last month. His wife asked for her ashes to be spread over an ocean. He spoke to a Priest who said he could spread a portion of the ashes to respect her wishes. This is WRONG!! all of us must be buried in a Catholic cemetery in their entirety.
Here in NY, Gregorian Masses are $800, I just don't have it. Is it ok to go through another church/ or state to have it said?

Lol yes, anxiety at realizing how hard it is to save ourselves can be very depressing. This is why we must learn to trust in Jesus. While we must do our best, and turn our wills to God, what every person must do is realize that we save ourselves through the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ alone. So once you realize you can rely on Jesus, who will forgive you if you’re really sorry and do penance… Suddenly it does seem easier.❤

Who is this priest. He is amazing! My question is it wrong to do all indulgences for the souls in purgatory or should we do some for ourselves as well? And does a plenary indulgence remove ALL the sin that one has committed in their lifetimes?

There's no purgatory as scripture says He will change us in a twinkling of an eye:
1 Cor 15:51-53 KJV Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Yes, we need to lay down sin in this life, with the help of the Holy Spirit, but He will complete the work.
