Hangzhou is where I grew up and where I'm from. Now I've been in Canada for 9 years and I go back every summer. Seeing my home and the places I'd recall from my childhood from a video really brings me the feels of home. Amazing video! In fact, I'm going home to Hangzhou tomorrow!

What a whirlwind weekend. I even looked up your itinerary on Google...you logged close to 300 miles. Your drone footage in Hangzhou once again shows how great the Mavic is. Love the modern buildings, especially the one with six interconnected buildings @ 1:37 and the golden ball @ 1:55. Also, that old tower on the hill @ 3:55 is really spectacular. Your mom is showing more and more of her personality on this trip. She's right, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. lol
kcwin the six interconnected bulindings are the citizen centre of Hangzhou, and also Hangzhou city government locates there, also have Hangzhou citizen liberary. The old tower is called bao chu tower, which is over one thousand years old.

I'm going to miss your Mom when she goes home. My Mom was never happy being on camera, and when she started her downward decline, I would hide the camera, filming hours and hours until she passed away a couple years ago. One blessing was as she was declining, she developed a real sense of humor, which she never had before. Her one liners, subtle gestures and facial reactions were priceless.
Sad but glad if that makes sense. Her quality of life was in steady decline, and very stressful her last 2-3 years, which was also exhausting. Mixed blessing.

I really love your video about my hometown. BTW, the first 2 mins you were showing was not the "downtown" of Hangzhou. The downtown area is in Wulin area, and the area around the West lake. The place you were showing is the financial area...

To be honest the hazy weather is actually doing a favour here, as ancient Chinese artists do consider haziness a very important aspect of their artistic concept in order to represent scenery of the region.

The light show will be played on tuesday, friday and saturday. there are two places where the light show plays. one is at west lake, the other is the CBD area where has all kinds of tall buildings

This is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited. Summer might be too hot and humid, but it is just a romantic place to pay a visit.

We went to Hangzhou a few years ago. We did not see those high-rise buildings. Did they build them in the last few years? Amazing.
