Having lived in Hangzhou for 5 months while a student at Zhejiang University, I took it upon myself to create a video exploring life in Hangzhou. The aim of this is to provide prospective travellers to the city on some cool sites (like the famous West Lake), transport tips and places to grab food. Also a great opportunity to have a word with the local people in Chinese (with subtitles). I take the opportunity to taste the infamous 'Stinky Tofu'.
Hangzhou, it's glorious West Lake (Xihu) and the surrounding scenery and city, is truly a sight to behold!

Charlie thanks for this video. I'm planning to go to West Lake from Shanghai on April 20. I plan to be on bullet train at 5am so I can reach West Lake by 6am and leave by 1pm. Do you think the time I spent in West Lake is OK?

i can speak a little chinese, but i can barely hear what they're saying haha
Haha some of them have really strong HZ accents and my Chinese is not particularly good here so you'd be forgiven for not understanding 😆

Charlie Levy it was real bad during winter 2012. Pm2 was 600+.
Went back last summer 2017, and it wasn't really that bad anymore. Having hosted the G20 Summit probably helped a bit.
went back in winter 2017 and the air was almost like in vienna.. clean and fresh. Didnt even had pimplebreakouts, which i normally get when i go back to china ^^
