I bought a xr100 2003 and have been working on it for a month and it’s coming together. I would also like to make it street legal and your videos are very informative. Awesome video man can’t wait to see more
Thank you! @Oscar Vlogs this was a real fun build. I have a tendency to go a little overboard sometimes but it can be made street legal for just under $300 I have all the parts listed in the video description on one of the more recent videos. Good luck with your project buddy! 👍
Oohhh yeah, it's now beautiful bike! You made bike fully reliable street machine! Looking forward to more videos on the CRF100f as I have one. Thanks again and Happy Easter to you n family:-). Appreciate your concern for spouse!
and your absolutely right brother those are nice air cooled units. i have a 'o1 xr8or. there's no oil filter but there is a oil screen case anyone was wondering . drain the oil and remove the clutch side case. on my xr8or the oil screen is located on the lower right hand side not sure if the 1oor's are with that same location but you slide the screen out clean it. i use brake kleen spray for the screen but im not a authority on that clean method its just what ive been using when its time for a oil change . have a new gasket for the clutch side case handy when reinstalling . this comment is just for the unknown
I appreciate that man! This one has a screen also. I was told, but I have never taken the screen out, that the screen only needs to come out if the motor blows up. The screen is designed to catch large particles. Like I said, I don't know this to be a fact, but it's what I was told. This winter I plan to freshen up the motor and put in a new piston, rings, and valve seals so I will check out the screen then and see how it looks. Thanks for sharing and commenting man. Much appreciated!
oh most definitely ! have the same project in front of me as well with a rebuild. was a smoker when i bought it off marketplace just never got round to it . i enjoy quality videos and even though i like when you said your not the authority on procedures i still clicked the sub button. happy holidays to ya from the carolinas off 95 south
This whole series has been extremely helpful and very well explained! Thank you for the guidance! Now, if you could restore a pw 50.. that would be great!!😂😂
@MotoVated207 that's great news!! My next project for my 10yr old daughter is a 07 ttr50 it needs a lot of help haha but that's what makes it fun! Can't wait to watch some videos on it! My current rides for the family are 2008 polaris ranger 500 (moms) 2004 pw50 (4yr son) 07 ttr50 (daughter) and I'm on a 2002 xr100r. Can't wait for some ttr content
Very, very nice. Personally I think you have the sprocket ratios pretty good. It is still trail capable and easy around town. The first bike i actually owned was a Kawasaki 500 Mach III back in about 1974. 🤣🤣, then a triumph then a honda K2 750 bored to 920, lumpy cam and fully Dunstall kit - cafe racer. Cheers my friend, happy days.
@pilot McBride thanks man I appreciate it! I think your probably right but I'm gonna try seeing what stepping up to a 15 tooth from a 14 tooth does. It its too drastic I also ordered a 36 tooth rear to try in place of the 38. This little bike is a ton of fun on the street!
Great vid. Im surprised you had a hard time finding a rear. I went on ebay and found several choices. I went with a vortex 40. Jt 15 front. About to take my maiden voyage, ll. Thank you for inspiring me to gear up my bike.
Thanks man I appreciate it! You are going to have a blast! I actually ordered a 36 also. I have it but havent installed it yet. It has a 38 on it right now. If I needed to I could still go with a 36 without a problem.
That sucks man! I just checked out your channel and watched the video. I dont know how the courts are where you are at but here in Maine you can contest the ticket then negotiate the fine....sometimes in half.
I put a bbr 120 kit in my son's xr100 it would do 60 for about 2 months but didn't rebuild the bottom end and now it runs and will kick in neutral but makes a horrible noise in gear and locks up put it back in neutral motor unlocks and starts back up 😪
Where did you get a stator to handle the lights? Is it a 6 volt system or 12 volt system? I have a street legal xl75 that I'm about to put a xr100 engine on and need something to handle the lights. It's currently 6 volt
You can use DOT street knobbies. You dont have to be confined to the clasic ADV looking tires. If your doing mostly street riding I would go with ADV tires.

Boy that chain looked tight
Hope everything working out great videos
Thanks man. It's a super fun bike. As far as the chain tension, I always set it to whatever the manual says.

Never thought I would see a street legal xr100 lol
It's pretty fun around town. It rides real smooth.
@@MotoVated207 I bet. I enjoy riding mine around

Moto-Vated207 it rides sooooo good. First is usable, lol.
Right on man! Congrarulations!!!
Right on man! Congrarulations!!!
1st is a compound low for steep hill to keep up with the bigger bike’s
Good to know. Thank you. It reminds me of the "granny gear" I had in an old truck years ago. Rarely used 1st because it was geared so low
Nice; I have the XR80R I just finished restoring it. And got a ticket test riding it...Bummer...

Sounds like something in the transmission let go

Mine is 12 volt. I have all the parts and links in the cost breakdown video
get street tires for it
