    I saw Hardware Unboxed video just now and I feel there are things need to be said here! th-cam.com/video/ZRDUR-rPGsM/w-d-xo.html
    First of all. This A15 has an 8 Core 16 Thread AMD cpu in it, ofcourse it CAN be a bit hotter then a 6 core INTEL cpu.
    He also is comparing the A15-s Ryzen 7 4800H to Intel i7-10750H which BOOSTS up to 5GHz in games.
    Ofcourse it will get MORE FPS from games at a higher frequency.
    And for the heat thing in general.. most gaming laptops for the past few years have gone up to 80-90c while gaming.
    In the end does the temp matter if the hardware is meant to work at temps like that?
    Cutting holes in your laptops bottom to get 5c better cooling is really not worth the effort.
    Also it is a design choice, to let the hot air blow on your private area or out the left and right side of the laptop.. or like with the ROG G14, up over the monitor.

      @s2korpionic 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just because some gaming laptops average on 80-90C doesn't excuse Asus from keeping it up there when it can go cooler (which has a whole bunch of benefits by itself in the long-term).
      I don't know of anyone who plays games with a laptop on his lap. It's usually on a table.

    • @TheTanelChannel
      @TheTanelChannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@s2korpionic You don´t have to game for the heat to blow in your lap :) you don´t always game, you watch movies, browse web, while laptop is in your lap.
      Every laptop can go cooler if you remove the bottom plastic.

      @@TheTanelChannel but when you watch movies or browse Web I do not think that it would be that hot as while gaming.

    Thank you so much for live gaming and showing us how the screen looks like while using it, it looks completely fine everyone who says its bad were either born in rich families or were spoiled with really high quality things.
    Either way, most youtubers don't show the screen in action and I really appreciate that, thank you.
    But wow, those fans are really loud! Hopefully you were playing on turbo so it doesn't do that on performance mode haha :)
    I'll be getting this laptop so once I get it I'll come back and comment my experience.

    Asus Tuf A15 Ryzen 4800H RTX 2060 vs Acer Triton 300 i7-10750H RTX2070 MAX Q
    been offered the chance to buy either of the two gaming laptops titled above for 700 pounds. I have youtubed them both but both have their pros and cons like anything else. I noticed the 2060 performs better but when watching reviews on the Asus tuf has a lot of bad reviews in terms of over heating so its starting to put me off, also the vents on the under tray dont seem to do anything to help with cooling the laptop down.
    Both come with 16gb ram
    Asus comes with a 512gb ssd
    Trition comes with a 1tb ssd
    Just wondering what other peoples opinions are on the two laptops.

    • @TheTanelChannel
      @TheTanelChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the temps arent that great on this one but most gaming laptops do go over 90c when playing.
      If id have a choice id get the Zephyrus G14 (new model should come soon with 3060). It is one near perfect gaming laptops ive ever tried that actually felt like a laptop and gaming on the go not just a huge desk PC.
      Have a review here th-cam.com/video/8n8Zg1jFbao/w-d-xo.html

    I think a lot of people have written negative opinions about this equipment based on an unfounded wave of criticism. Asus has done a great job. I watched this equipment in the store. Next to Acer, Lenovo and MSI. If someone claims that Asus is poorly made, then he probably has not seen MSI shoot plastic or how the Lenovo screen twists left and right. Cooling? Moment. See the tests of solid equipment and see what temperatures it achieves. Of course, someone will need additional cooling for this game, and in my opinion, this is nothing new. I do not know which laptop maintains some super temperatures under full load. For work, this laptop can be a shot at 10. Super performance. Screen? I have a Lenoco T460S which has very similar parameters. 280 rivets? It would be nice to have a 350 but I worked a long time on the TOP M50VN which had 180 rivets and a glowing coating. If someone is looking for equipment to work in full sun, he certainly knows what he needs. The RGB color coverage is the same, the T460S is too much for an amateur of video processing and games. Your eyes won't fall out because of this. The A15 FA506 with 4800H and 2060 is solid equipment at a very attractive price and as soon as its availability returns, I will be happy to buy it myself. As long as there is nothing else with the 4800H, there is certainly no way to compare this laptop, but the truth is that I do not know a person who, having ASUS, would give it up without good reason. If someone focuses only on performance and the replacement of equipment is rather fun or work for him (e.g. making videos on TH-cam) then he can safely say: this model is shit, they are better. Yes, e.g. the Rog Strix series. I recommend that everyone go to the store and touch that laptop and then the other before making a decision. Keyboard, screen, chin, workmanship, visual effect.

      Hello, I agree that this laptop has been criticized heavily just because it is the mainstream thing to do. Since you seem to have some experience with it, do you believe that the screen's brightness is good for regular university use? It is the only thing holding me back from buying the 1660 Ti model.

  • @bferreira1984

    Thanks for the review first of all! I'm precisely in doubt in between the two laptops you mention asus ROG zephyrus G14 ( I7 4800HS;512GB;16GB;Nvidia 1660 TI MaxQ; 120Hz Monitor) vs asus TUG Gaming A15 you just reviewed. The main features i think are great for both, i actually don't understand based on the review why you lean torwards so much to the G14, because being objective, the TUF cons ( bulky;One USG and RGB are minor things) are not so important.... and would that justify the 7.5 rate vs 9.5 rate? I wonder if it's also the build quality/display quality(brightness/color gamma?)? What about the noise in this laptop in daily tasks and in games, more silent than the g14? Please help me. :) And one more time thank you!

    • @TheTanelChannel
      @TheTanelChannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey man!
      It just felt a lot cheaper built. The G14 is very thin and nice to hold as a LAPTOP.
      It also had similar specs.. and 14" feels better for a laptop though some may prefer a bit bigger screen.
      Anyway in short the build quality is what is so much better on the G14.. although it had it´s downsides but I´d still get the G14 eighter way :) you won´t regret it ;)

    • @paccioti

      And my advice Bruno, dont go for A15, you can get Lenovo Legion 5i for almost the same price, and Legion is practically perfect

    • @KarczmaTV
      @KarczmaTV 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paccioti It's good that you wrote - almost. If you haven't touched the A15 in your hand then maybe Legion seems great, but for real. Go to the store and check for yourself how these laptops are built. Nobody quits ASUS if there is no good reason and such a comment can only be written by a person who has not used ASUS for a long time or just read stupid on the Internet. Remember that today it is easy to say that something works badly and poorly, although often reviews are based on comparison to equipment from a completely different shelf.

    I am thinking about buying it with the 1660Ti and 90Wh battery but I am hesitating about the display. I want it for everyday university use and occasional gaming (both single player titles and fps like overwatch/pubg etc.). Most importantly, is the brightness (I have seen from reviews that it is around 265nits) enough to not be tiring at all to look at many hours in the day? And one last important thing. Is it actually 2.3kg (mostly talking about the Asus TUF Gaming A15 FA506IU-AL006T with the 1660Ti and 90Wh battery)? because I have seen from various sources lower weight.

      I'm also an A15 owner here with 4800H+RTX2060+90Wh spec, I can assure you I have not run into any issues so far in terms of gaming, yes the CPU can get into 90 degrees range but the CPU can manage it pretty well by dialing the speed back a little, not enough to affect your smooth gaming.
      Heck it even survives the high setting Final Fantasy XV benchmark and getting pretty good scores.

    It's loud under load, I guess that has not improved much the last few years. Also your assassin's creed footage shows the high refresh display won't be utilised to its potential under modern titles with high quality settings. So you'd have to make some tuf (pun intended) compromises if you connect your external display with 4k.
