@Gedhun Choekyi Nyima PanchenLama From +Moon Dso in another thread: "First lyrics record of the song was published in Turnovo (Bulgaria) by Ljuben Karavelov in 1878. Here is the original lyrics of the song and an English translation. I have to note several things...It is impossible to translate the absolute meaning of this song the same way we Bulgarians hear it. A small example is the fact that the woods in Bulgaria have a very powerful meaning for us. The word itself in Bulgarian is "gora" and is in feminine grammatical gender (Bulgarian grammar) and for this reason the performer also calls the woods sister- "sestro". In addition, in the past the woods was the place where many of the revolutionary movements had hidden and many Bulgarian sons and daughters found their death there. The woods is a sacred place in Bulgaria. It was a shelter and a "mother" for many Bulgarians for a long time."

B2091 Shit.... My grandfather fought on D-Day as a radioman, and had been on the 3rd boat to open. There where almost a dozen 42s trained on the boat, if he wasn't in the way back of the boat he would've been killed on the spot. After the battle, he was traumatized and on his way to an honorable discharge. Before he left Normandy, he found a dead SS with several medals and ribbons on his coat. He took those, as well as all the SS badges he could find. He left with 47 of the Iron Eagles and 34 badges. I still have them in my house. When he returned home he explained that he didn't want them to be burnt, melted down as scrap or buried and forgotten. He didn't want people to remember Nazi Germany as a failed empire that tried to live in a time where empire's couldn't. He asked that the eagles be kept as a reminder, so that people would know that they existed, that men did die on both sides, that the war wasn't an event in a textbook, but a very real war. Battlefield 1 covers a different time in history, yes, but it respected and understood that this war was real. To censor these moments in history is a damn disservice to the immeasurable cost that was paid during them.
This song touched me in the heart... such an emotional song beautifully choosed for a game that's based from WW1 to think of how hard and brutal times were for our boys in the trenches... great job by the developers to capture the WW1 atmosphere in a game 👍🏻👌🏻
I remember this made such an emotional scene in the runner final mission at the fort so fucking cool, even the end of the train at the last story was cool with this song
BF1 will forever be in my opinion the greatest game of all time, the music the graphics, psychics, gameplay all outstanding for its time. I still play this game on a regular basis and don’t think I’ll ever stop
“Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives … you are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side in this country of ours. You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries, wipe away your tears. Your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well.” Atatürk, 1934 🇹🇷🇦🇺
the song deep down is so depressing, and the theme goes well with the WWI motives and its aftermath... the song "zajdi, zajdi jasne sonce" "set set, you bright sun" tells the story how life goes like the sun setting; the song "cries to the youth gone by and never coming back", so the singer calls the forest, come and cry with me - you sister forest for the leaves falling, me for my youth gone - your leaves sister forest will come back in Spring, my youth sister forest will never come back, so cry with me...
I was just playing this game, casually watching the cutscenes and learning the story progression, out of nowhere I hear her angelic voice my jaw drops and I start shedding tears!
When I first heard this, especially when the lady starts to sing, I just stopped everything and listened. This, the stories, the game was all beautiful! I wish we didn't move on from it as fast as we did. Hard to believe this was 5 years ago.
War is to many an example of the worst of humanity, if you take anything away from games about the first world war and second it is yes, war is hell it should be avoided at all costs, but do not condone those wars for being wars, remember the men who fought for what they believed was to be right, even if it was wrong in the end. They put themselves on the line for something which was bigger than all of them. Even it was in vein they stood especially in the terms of the allies, for them who could not stand, for them that were not yet born to stand, so in the future when the time comes we may stand as well and do our part like they did. Do not condone these men, I believe and I hope many of you share the hope with me, that when the time comes to fight for something bigger than our selves, we will answer the call. And I hope that history will remember us as men that fought regardless of what side we were on for what we believed to be right and that ultimate we were prepared to pay the ultimate price.
Jimmy Richards The times have changed. Many less choose the option of risking their lives for their countries. However corrupt their leader was, many fought in a war that was a seemingly endless hell. Many would never return. Nowdays one fights not for what is needed, or seen as right, but for the world they deem as their perfect world. That is however, why the world ended twice, that is why many were sent to death on their own will. Why such things must happen?
i like the fact, that there can be games, that can educate..i love that concept and i hope developers keep making them. we need to know history, it is what defines who we are, at least that's what i think...
Millions of people fought in the war to end all wars but in reality it ended nothing millions people came home with shell-shock (PTSD) thinking they save the world from war they did not end a single thing it is sad to think about it and how people had there guts riped open by knifes and barbed wire thinking in there last thoughts will i ever see my family again and i died for a good cause people say how WWI was a point less war and how it sould be forgotten but what happend to the landscape sould never be forgotten and the people who died and lived sould never be forgotten " history only remembers one in a thousand of us"
Well spoken my full Respect to all Civillains And Soldiers who served and died for war is not fun just Imagine all this organs and Blood weeks in trenches fucks your brain smelling Everyday blood and Flesh a body laying on the ground for days because everybody is to scared an traumatized to take it away it was awful and war should never Start in any art but sadly a war will happen Humanity is Lost and United with the devil
I have been paintballing once, and honestly i was scared, i was 12 going up against 18 yer old boys and it was just for fun! Now imagine fear those young boys, men, fighting against fearless ruthless other men that will hack you to death...Thats the fear that WE will never face, never experience... that fear kills
Texas Raised American there were so many other reasons for the First World War. Gavrilo Princip (the man that killed Ferdinand) merely set the fuse to ignite it all into flames. War between the Central Powers and the Triple Entente was unavoidable, Austria-Hungary were itching for any excuse to attack Serbia and given time another opportunity would have arisen. And such an action would still have drawn Russia, and Germany, and France, and Britain into the conflict.
i played battlefield 1 for 3 days and had to give it up through lag------i remember this song for sure, its a lovely piece. To stop the arguments, its by a Macedonian composer
Some people will say this game was not the best battlefield game however this game is the best battlefield game for its artistic design. The atmosphere was incredible. I feel like EA got a good balance between fun and respecting the history and showing people a bit of what WW1 was like. Let’s be honest, this wasn’t just a game, it was also art.
The singer gives me chills... This is by far the best soundtrack of any game it adds so much more depth and immerses you so much in the story. It's even inducing tears sometimes
Bir Türk olarak bizim milletimizden bir kişinin (Aliye Mutlu) böyle harikulade uluslararası bir projede de yer almasından gurur duyuyorum. Bu kadının değeri bilinmeli.
The song belongs in the scene where after a guy survives an artillery barrage in the desert he gets up just to look around and see dozens upon dozens of dead soldiers and he walks around aimlessly in the desert in hopes to civilization where he is met by an allied patrol and is taken back to base and he cries out loud because of survivors guilt
Battlefield 1 was a loveletter honoring the largely futile sacrifices of tens of millions of men, women and children. It was not without flaws, but subsequent Battlefield games wish they were a quarter of a game that BF1 was!
I doubt this song was first sang by Sarievski... I have seen bulagrian folk groups singing it before Sarievski recorded the song with TV Skopje. It is a beautiful song nonetheless. I understand very little bulgarian/serbian, but I know this song word by word. We should not involve politics everywhere. People in Skopje are great people, but not Great Alexanders- that heritage was locked with ancient Greek heritage, and the North Macedonia was allowed to exist as a country after your president signed with the Greek counterpart that the new state of north Macedonia have no claims over Ancient Macedonian heritage. For as much as I know - you guys speak the same language as bulgarians - I have friends from Skopje, Bitola and Varna, they speak the same language. Your language is largely mutually understandable with serbian; and serbian, montenegrin(?), bosnian, and Croatian are all the same language. Greeks have more trouble understanding another greek from a different regions of Greece; and so do Italians of north having much trouble understanding an italian from the Puglia or south Italy, let alone with Sicily... My best. Pozdrav
@@hks4133 it was written bij sarievski. The full song is macedonian written. It could be possible that the bulgarians where first with singing it. But that doesnt change the fact that the song is written by an macedonian. So its pure 100% macedonian.

I am Albanian, and during the first world war Albania just had gotten independent. I learned about the battle of Gallipoli through battlefield. Then a few days ago I hear a folkloric song about Albanians, many who fought and died for the ottoman empire at the battle of the Gallipoli. The song is called Çanekale mrenda. Its so sad but its a remainder that they are not forgotten.
Those young men have made their family proud and their country thank you for your service to the people that were fighting for us and for the future generation.

BF1 will forever be in my opinion the greatest game of all time, the music the graphics, psychics, gameplay all outstanding for its time. I still play this game on a regular basis and don’t think I’ll ever stop
Never will EA or DICE create such a thrilling, immersive and incredibly unique experience such as this again. This was the peak of their franchise.

A love letter to the community they said... RIP to what was once a great franchise.
for real man...
After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well.”
Atatürk, 1934

This song gets me every time. I made such good friends and memories from bf1 and this song reminds me every time. So damn beautiful
this is the most absolute song that matches with the war setting , love it thank you Dice for such brilliance
the song deep down is so depressing, and the theme goes well with the WWI motives and its aftermath... the song "zajdi, zajdi jasne sonce" "set set, you bright sun" tells the story how life goes like the sun setting; the song "cries to the youth gone by and never coming back", so the singer calls the forest, come and cry with me - you sister forest for the leaves falling, me for my youth gone - your leaves sister forest will come back in Spring, my youth sister forest will never come back, so cry with me...
I was just playing this game, casually watching the cutscenes and learning the story progression, out of nowhere I hear her angelic voice my jaw drops and I start shedding tears!
I cry every time, beautiful Macedonian song
I cry everytime.
Wow ponosan na makedonce svaka Vam cast da se ovako Vasa pesma slusa u svetu prelepo. It's a Macedonian Song, proud for them
When I first heard this, especially when the lady starts to sing, I just stopped everything and listened. This, the stories, the game was all beautiful! I wish we didn't move on from it as fast as we did. Hard to believe this was 5 years ago.
1:58 You just witnessed a cinematic masterpiece worthy of a film trilogy but it actually was just a round of bf1
For those who are asking; music by Johan Söderqvist and Patrik Andrén
Andrass ƒenriss thank you
Andrass ƒenriss the original song is from Aleksandar Sarievski, have you heard the original?this sounds great too ;)
Battlefield has the some of the best emotional soundtracks EVER, in any media
Joseph crapper that was beautiful my friend. Truly.
This wanna make me tear up
18 year olds 100 years ago: Sitting in mud filled trenches and charging into battle.
18 year old today: Recording themselves dabbing on a hover board.
Jimmy Richards weird segway*
Jimmy Richards every country was involved in that conflict. so, you are right.
James William You say this but if our country was to enter war today it would be just as terrifying
Gabriel Cundari yeah I guess so...war....war never changes.
i like the fact, that there can be games, that can educate..i love that concept and i hope developers keep making them. we need to know history, it is what defines who we are, at least that's what i think...
How could 13 people dislike it??? God damn it!
Andrass ƒenriss probably 6 year old children who play cod
Its yt bots, to make your recommendation better, i think
This game is one of the best historical games ever man, inspired me to read the stories of world war 1.
It felt weird taking dump to this song. It... felt emotional.
marcuskif you need help buddy.
You're not the only one.
i’m doing this too
Saaaaameee
Powerful vocals, awesome ost
Australian Hippo Except the dude that killed Arch Duke Ferdinand. That fucker was the reason the whole war started
I LOVE
Very good. Aliye Mutlu silky voice!

Man, this song really gets you to the core.
i played battlefield 1 for 3 days and had to give it up through lag------i remember this song for sure, its a lovely piece. To stop the arguments, its by a Macedonian composer
whats your rig?i got on ultra but im exactly on the recommended specs
happyguyx1 don't just strike down the game cause of lag. U either joined a bad server, or it's a problem with YOUR internet
Does this remind you of halo? Halo 3, or whatever you may of heard similar from?
Has a similar feel to one of the songs on Halo 3's main menu...
the very start sounds identical to halo
halo 3 odst trailer song?

One of the best songs in gaming history. Extremely touching.
Best battlefield in my opinion

thank you!!!
No matter how many times I listen to this song, always brings a tear to my eye
The singer gives me chills... This is by far the best soundtrack of any game it adds so much more depth and immerses you so much in the story. It's even inducing tears sometimes
Bir Türk olarak bizim milletimizden bir kişinin (Aliye Mutlu) böyle harikulade uluslararası bir projede de yer almasından gurur duyuyorum. Bu kadının değeri bilinmeli.
R.I.P cod 🥀
This is the best peace of music in video games for me....so emotional 😭👌
This music is so good thats make me crie 😂
Gamings Inc *😭
Her voice is incredible. Makes me cry.
It's bulgarian folk music
I am proud of our history and our folklore music
@@alexanderkolemanov9017 macedonian folk music you can say what you want
This song sometimes makes me Nostalgic...looks like im the only one feeling this way.Good job Dice.
I tear up every time. Just the meaning behind the song and the vocals and every second of emotion. Rest In Peace to all those who served.
"You are not expected to survive the feels"
Battlefield 1 was a loveletter honoring the largely futile sacrifices of tens of millions of men, women and children.
It was not without flaws, but subsequent Battlefield games wish they were a quarter of a game that BF1 was!
I want this song to be played at my funeral
What a masterpiece
This is a rendition of an old traditional Macedonian song called Zajdi Zajdi which was composed by Aleksandar Sarievski.
@@martinspirovski7822 Што му се објаснуваш, гледаш дека е простак неписмен, врти теми кои ниту се точни ниту па имаат врска со песната....

I don’t even understand a word she’s saying, but it’s just heartwarming somehow

I'm Macedonian the song as well... When I was playing the last chapter I never ever expected to hear a Macedonian song playing in some game like Battlefield, I fuckin cried like a baby... Rest in peace brave people!
It's an amazing song, brother!
the best music in battlefield 1 *_* < 33333 !
Rest in piece to this franchise.
They died young so that we may grow old. May they never grow old .
it shows how depressing world war 1 was
And how terrifying that it wasn't the last
Those young men have made their family proud and their country thank you for your service to the people that were fighting for us and for the future generation.
Dude they died for nothing. Especially the germans. War is useless
@@Demente_Ente you could say that to the old men that started the war.

Go down, go down bright sun,
Go down, darken,
And you too, bright moon,
Go down, drown.
Cry, forest, cry, my sister.
Let us cry together,
You, forest, for your leaves,
I - for my youth.
Your leaves, forest, my sister,
Shall return again,
My youth, forest, my sister,
Shall not come back.
Just in case anyone is interested in the full song, here are the lyrics translated from Macedonian to full English.
Enjoy!
Playing this game on pc still holds up graphically today as well as a new game on max settings. On an rtx 3070 in 4k it looks just as good as a new game
