    The lyrics, loosely translated:
    Vanish, vanish, bright sun.
    Vanish, disappear.
    And you too, bright moonlight.
    Vanish, drown yourself.
    Weeping forest, weeping sister,
    Let us weep together.
    You for your leaves, forest,
    And I for my youth.
    Your leaves, forest, my sister,
    Will come back to you.
But my youth, forest, my sister,
    Shall never return.

      Set, set bright sun,
      Set, blackout
      And you clear moonlight too
      Run away, drown yourself
      Sad forest, sad sister,
      Let’s be sad together
      You- for your leaves, forest
      Me- for my youth.
Your leaves, forest - my sister,
Are going to get back to you
My youth, forest - my sister,
      It’s not coming back.

In Bulgarian folklore it was quite typical to sing about the sadness of the mountains and the forests who were sympathizing the suffering of our nation. I found the translation for you:
Go down, go down bright sun,
      Go down, darken,
      And you too, bright moon,
      Go down, drown.
      Cry, forest, cry, my sister.
      Let us cry together,
      You, forest, for your leaves,
      I - for my youth.
      Your leaves, forest, my sister,
      Shall return again,
      My youth, forest, my sister,
      Shall not come back.

This song illustrates what the Balkan peninsula actually is - a culturally rich region with turbulent history which shaped it in every possible way. Not many people understand how much these people sacrificed for freedom in a centuries old struggle. Today, whatever they do, they do it with passion - sing, dance, love, joke, eat, drink, compete in sports, heck even wars. Love from Serbia to all neighbours 😘

Greece has a population about 11 Million people whereas Istanbul is narrowing in on the 17 Million mark, Greece is still suffering from their disastrous economic crisis a few years ago and their economy is in shambles, so much that they are one of the weakest performing countries in the 1st world
Greece's military is also no match to the Turkish armed forces, as Turkey currently possesses NATO'S 3rd largest army and is better equipped than the Greek military, in every possible way
Even if you'd try to attack Turkey and would critically hit our military, the common folk would begin to arm themselves and defend their country and rush to the military's aid as a militia, just like they did approx. 100 years ago
And even if you'd conquer Istanbul: How the fuck do you picture the outcome? Deport ca. 17 million people or force them to adapt into a culture which they genuinely hate and despise? Don't you think they will defend themselves against forcibly accepting another culture?
Grow up and face it: Istanbul was conquered fair and square and will forever remain Turkish, we ain't going nowhere and you should focus on getting your economy starting again before thinking of such delusional ideas, feel free to come visit Istanbul and enjoy the rich culture, sights and architecture there, but forget about reclaiming the city, if you try to do so, you'd run the chance of losing your soil to Turks...again

@@petarpetrov6656It is not Bulgarian. This song was written and composed and singed by a Macedonian well known Artist in music Sarijevski,, pure Macedonian. Bulgarians are obsessed with Macedonian culture, history language that they accepted when they came to present geographical area from Tatarstan by adapting the Macedonian culture. Macedonians are in this area for over 12 thousand years.. Macedonians accepted the Christianity at around the year of 50AD. Ancient Macedonians are in Pakistan, 2 Provinces, Unzi and Kalash people. To the Bulgarians, please, dont be ashamed of your own ethnicity. There are plenty of Tatars in Crimea, your closes ethnos. Lets live in harmony as neighbors. Did you know that Macedonia is one of three saved (used) ancient names on this planet to this day? Fact check it, you will be surprised to learn.

The song is Bulgarian, south Slavic nonetheless; probably the best Slavic folk song ever. Here the song is sang by a Turkish singer with an angelic voice; I have heard many versions of this song from Alaksandar Sarievski of RT Skopje, to Esma e Tosa Proeski (RIP), also an earlier old version from a Bulgarian women's folk festival... You'd be sad every time you heard it if you DID understand it (or Bulgarian). It's totally the type of song they'd play when lowering someone into the ground and a lot of slavic music carries that common thread of bitter fatalism (and saying goodbye to the world before your time). "The Black Raven" by Maxim Troshin is a great example of this...its a song about a Russian Soldier bleeding out and begging a raven to wait till he's dead before eating him. Very fucked up but beautiful at the same time...just like life, I guess.
