    I have used kreem kit on 3 different tanks, 2 were 70's Honda cb750 and we're Rusty and had quite a few pinholes in them. just take you're time and be patient. it's worked for me with no problems what so ever.

    the bike mechanic recommended this stuff since the tank from my 81 honda had some minor rust and water in it. It wouldn't run without full choke. Just completed the process so we will see...btw -The fumes are very strong so only use outdoors with good ventilation.

    I have used PO15 on 2 other tanks and found it worked great, to complain that after 15 years is a bit rich really! I'm just about to do a very old tank on a 1969 Yam, it's the only way to save the tank.

    Worked worderfull, on the insides... on the outsides though;
    It went through the porrous metal and created 4 5cm diameter bubbles from underneeth the paint.
    This is a origional CX500C tank with origional paint. Its too bad, not many of these left the way this one was..
    I'll be making a report to kreem, to see if they can help me out.

    Soaking over night right now with "A" from everything I heard this stuff should do wonders for my rusted tank.
    Lets see.

    I've noticed on my 1993 Kawasaki ex500 it's starting to flake a bit, but I put an inline $2 fuel filter just in case. I have two other tanks to seal on two other ex500's I have, and I will try a few different products.

    @CarpeMetus how did ur rusty tank ordeal go??? please tell im going thru the same thing

  • @CarpeMetus
    @CarpeMetus 13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @cockmaster024 Perfect.
    Cleaned it out and coated it great.
    One thing you might need to do though is clean the injectors or add a cleaner additive because there might be rust in the lines.

    After tank Prep A why was there a spot of rust? Is that flash rust or existing rust that didn’t wash out or new rust?

    • @tburah1
      @tburah1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      L Spam I would remove and use a rubber freeze plug in the size of your tank opening from an auto part store. your stock cap may have vents in it that may clog.

    • @roadrunner40
      @roadrunner40 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      pooatpauls10 Not really all that complicated, The video makes it look easier than it really is tho. Each step must be done with extreme care/attention to detail, The tank must be completely free of rust after cleaning(Not one speck.) Which means each step will take double the amount of time they tell you and may need to be repeated multiple times. By the time you apply the liner the tank should look brand new inside. How do I know? I lined my super rusty (but Not leaking) 1980 Gold Wing tank around 1997. Since then I have not had any rust & no peeling. After lining the tank I changed the fuel filter 1 time in the following 8 years. People saying it peeled or didn't work just didn't..apply it correctly. After I did the Wing I was impressed enough to do two other tanks for other people. I received no complaints or come backs. .

    I don't know of anyone that likes Kreem, it may be different now but it was notorious for flaking and peeling off inside a gas tank plugging fuel filters and allowing the tank to rust again.

    just bought a $45 Kreem 3 part kit and I'm thinking I'm just gonna use the 1st and second bottle. Not the liner stuff and am adding a paper fuel filter. $45 bucks and a crappy computer voice on this video that they uploaded? Wow! Its all just chemicals.

      @daniellancaster3638 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well to update what I said before. I do think this stuff isn't very good but the guy that did my tank didn't buy the whole kit and clean and derust the tank first. He just dumped the cream right over the rust.

    • @captlarry-3525
      @captlarry-3525 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      if they skip steps or are stupid even oil wont work for themlook at all the idiots making videos with products that require 24 hours to work..but these guys say after a half hour "It didn't work"...they can't read, cant learn, cant do anything right.

  • @yuriykovalov2936
    @yuriykovalov2936 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    DO NOT USE THIS STUFF! my 81 yamaha xv920 head this coating inside the tank. after being stored inside for 10 years it formed a nice coat of rust between the liner and the metal. This stuff is a nightmare to remove from the inside of the tank and doesn't hold up to the test of time. Go with other products

    • @sparky5543
      @sparky5543 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      IF it was cleaned properly before coating, AND the coating was put on right... I would think 10 years is pretty good!

    • @yuriykovalov2936
      @yuriykovalov2936 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      10 years of rust inside your tank is pretty good? it took me almost a week to remove kreem and the rust from my tank.

    • @sparky5543
      @sparky5543 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, that gave me the giggles, but I see how I worded that real bad. I meant that if it lasted 10 years before rusting, that would be a good length of time. I could only guess that even if you used the Acetone they recommend to remove it, it would take some time.

    • @yuriykovalov2936
      @yuriykovalov2936 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL, no worries:) getting kreem out took me about 2 days alone. i think a combination of acetone and aircraft paint stripper finally got it loose enough to get most of it out. getting small pieces of this coating out was much worst. took several different acids to get get most of the rust out and remains of kreem.... final step was getting a bunch of sand and small nuts and tumbling the tank for about 3 hours to get remaining kreem and rust out from hard to reach places. So as inexpensive as this product is, i will not use it on anything that i ever own. You get what you pay for

    This stuff is crap. It turned to a rubbery substance like old latex after 15 years. Now I'm trying to scrap it out with a coat hanger. STAY AWAY FROM THIS STUFF! Por15 makes a much better alternative.

    • @sparky5543
      @sparky5543 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      15 years?? Well, I would think that was pretty darn good!! And as the instructions say, Acetone takes it right back off :) (not speaking from experience) :)
