Just did this on a hurricane lantern tank yesterday. Unfortunately, one of the pinhole leaks didn't seal for some reason even though it was on the bottom corner at the seam where there should have been plenty of sealant deposited. The KBS stuff is very easy to use and I have no idea why the pinhole leak didn't get sealed. I rolled it around constantly and got a good coating everywhere. I can only surmise that some of the bubbles in the off-gassing actually created an opening through to the metal and the kerosene was able to get through. Weird, I know, but I can't see any other way that particular area didn't get doused with a gob of sealant. It's not like these tanks are very big and I used almost half the can. Unless, I didn't let it sit long enough to dry. I left it overnight, and the parts that I could reach with a finger were hardened to the point I couldn't dent it with a fingernail. Anyhow, I've poured out the kerosene and gave the thing a good soak with vinegar.. After that dries a bit, I'll do a wash with soapy water. Then some baking soda to make sure the vinegar is neutralized. And maybe by this evening I'll be able to put in a second layer of the KBS and get that pinhole sealed up this time!
Does tank sealer last forever or does it break down over time? Yes, Tank Sealer does NOT break down. How well does it adhere to composite (Carbon/kevlar) fuel cells? Extremely well to prepped composite. Prep like the directions state for fiberglass tanks. www.kbs-coatings.com/tank-sealer-directions
Yes, the Tank Sealer will coat all of the baffles if you take your time and rotate the tank in all directions really well and then drain out the excess. If you have a lot of baffles, get the next larger kit size when you order.

Thanks big man!
What do i use on the bottom of motorcycle gas tank while doing the cleaning and resealing? Foil tape or Duct tape?
High quality duct tape works best.
@@Kbscoatings-us thank you! I just purchased your sealer kit. Restoring a 2001 gsxr 750
@@LifeWithStiel Excellent. Please feel free to reach out in the future if you have additional questions.
@@LifeWithStielhow’d that go? I’ve got a 03 750 I’m thinking about sealing.
Does the application method of turning the tank in all directions still work on fuel tanks with a lot of internal sheet metal baffles?
