I really enjoyed your video. I'm in Maine USA. We heat our home with only a pellet stove. In the winter I hang our laundry up to dry on racks near the pellet stove, right before bed and they are dry and ready to be taken care of in the morning. My dryer only gets used in the summertime during rainy days or wicked humid days when the clothes can not entirely dry on the clothes line. I'll bring them in and touch them up in the dryer on humid days. I do not shower that often either. A hot soapy wash cloth is all I need in the morning and night and then shower and wash my hair once or twice a week as needed. I will also wear my jeans a few days if not dirty and my.nightgowns 2 nights. Any flannel shirt or cardigan sweater will be worn most of the week before washing because I have a shirt underneath. I have to remind myself to turn off the TV and cell phone and read. I love to read but have to really prioritize it. I have noticed that I do not feel like myself if I spend every evening on electronics. I think cooking is our biggest energy usage because I cook everything from scratch. Our electric rate is 32 cents a kwh here and they have now added these stranded charges it is insane how much my bill can be while being super frugal.

It's okay to be yourself. I like to dress up. In fact when I don't I don't feel like myself . It's been really hard as a new mom figuring out how my style and motherhood will fit together. I've decided simple can be elegant and my natural hair is gorgeous but I can't leave it down anymore and I can't take care of the length of it. So I think I'm going to cut it short for this period of my life. It's hard for me. But rectifying the idea of who I am and what I am is a necessary part of this journey. It is for you too. Anyone who has ever had to do it themselves will understand. We are not judging you. Motherhood creates big changes and often in ways we never considered when we become pregnant in the first place. I promise it's ok. Also creating a life and a style that reflects your personal convictions is awesome. You are streamlining your life. It's a good thing I promise. Just because you don't dress up doesn't mean you are any less of a vixen 😉 be your own gorgeous self mama. And keep sharing. I'm glad to have found your channel. I'm very frugal myself despite my love of clothing. And I appreciate the opportunity to go over things and be offered new ideas. Keep it up lady!

Thank you so much for your comment! Motherhood completely changed my life as it does most mothers, I’m sure. And simple is elegant, 100%. Coco Chanel herself said that “Simplicity is the key note of true elegance.” It’s a matter of finding the right balance and letting go of the things that no longer serve us, which is sometimes easier said than done. Good luck on your journey, mama, and thank you for being here ❤️

First! Glad to see another video from you!
As far as not getting all dolled up for the part, it would be nice to see you in period clothing. I am sure they wore their hair down back then and to be honest, depending on the time period, they would not have make up anyway or very little of it. But you do you. Is there a reason you are whispering though?

Thank you so much for your feedback! I have very few period pieces and don't have a big budget when it comes to my wardrobe. I can dream, though! I am so sorry about the quiet audio. I was using a new mic and while I did raise the volume during editing, I guess it still ended up being really quiet. I'll do better next time!

@@VintageKitchenVixen I thought you were purposely whispering for those around you in the house. Haha! Anyway, wear what you got. Many TH-camrs wear the same outfit over and over again, assuming they wash it every so often. I doubt you would wear an outfit for more than an hour or two per video, so you are not dirtying anything really. That is IF you want to keep up appearances. If not, then don't. Sorry for the post you had to take down. I did not think it was too racy, but I understand. True story though! =P

@@tilasole3252 haha, that, too! I thought it was the mic, but yes, I need to film at night and I don’t want to wake my toddler. I used to cycle through the same dresses over and over again hoping no one would notice, ha! I think I will wear them every so often to get some use out of them. I didn’t see your other comment! I looked for it because I saw there was an extra comment, but YT must have held it back.

Dozens of old WW2-ish videos on rationing. Mostly about the UK, but also some in America and Canada. A lot of Make Due and Mend videos. Some as short as fifteen seconds, other a bit longer. A lot were played in movie theaters for their short commercials and propaganda or so I would assume.

Dear when your clothes freeze go out with a broom handle and beat the ice off the clothes.
That is how it's done in Alaska in the 1800s.
