Days Left Until Bret Hart Leaves The WWF: 27 Bios brought it up a little, but the reason why Bret Hart looked so annoyed during the opening promo is because this Raw happened 1 day after Bret tried burying the hatchet with Shawn & said that, if the roles were reversed, he'd gladly do the job for Shawn. Shawn, being the Grade-A prick that he was during this time, gave the infamous "Well I wouldn't do the same for you" response, which now makes it three times in just over a month that Shawn verbally told Bret that he refuses to do the job for him. At this point, Bret has every right to be pissed at Shawn, and next week he'll have the chance to be a prick back at him.
@@Rob_Thorsman That's wrestling though, Shawn could still have more respect. I give Bret more props for at least trying to make peace whereas Shawn's childish tantrums just kept making the situations worse.

I should point out, though, that this whole situation would also essentially spark the fuse that would lead into the Montreal Screwjob, which in turn would lead to the creation of the Mr. McMahon character, which in turn would culminate in the legendary Austin vs. McMahon feud that ended WCW's 83 week winning streak & eventually result in WWF winning the Monday Night War. In essence, it all starts here.
I really enjoy that he hates some of the things i hated about wcw. The finishes, the run ins, the dqs, the blah blah blah blahs. But seriously, i got the point where i felt like each nitro was a bummer since it was just building to that months ppv.

@@JM1993951 the WCW roster is far and away better than WWF. Issue was WWFs booking was better than WCWs and really knew what to do with their stars. Where as WCW didn’t.
I was only 13 at this particular time. Even though I would watch Raw and Nitro on Mondays, I would still watch the recap shows on Saturday mornings, just to relive the excitement. Good times!

I vividly remember this as a teenager and how exciting it was when the lights went out and Kanes music hit. You instantly knew that anyone in sight was gonna get wrecked and it was awesome

It was realllllllllllly good to see the genesis of the "Degeneration X" name. Also, the "Stings R Us" segment at the end is fondly remembered by WCW fans (the plot hole was laid in that earlier segment, when nobody helped Piper as he was jumped by the NWO). Great short term storytelling.
THIS Is one of the weeks I've been waiting for. I just got into watching wrestling as a younger kid after not seeing anything since roughly Summerslam '92. The arrival of Kane on RAW Destroying The Hardy Boyz was one of my 1st new wrestling memories. It's crazy how many years have passed but I feel like I Just watched all of these RAW Ep. yesterday. I had somewhat watched some Nitro but didn't realize the magnitude of what was happening in real time and grew to appreciate it all in being able to watch on WWE Network and these Recaps. THIS Series is AMAZING. As has been echoed many times in Comments... Great Work My Friend.

It's a reminder of how great wrestling was, it let me see everything I missed, and let's me see it in a different view being an adult now. Thank you for creating this series. This is by far my favorite series on youtube (or anywhere else for that matter) but ever since The Summer Slam i've been dreading the impending The Survivor Series. Bret isn't just my favorite wrestler ever, he's the single GREATEST professional wrestler to ever lace up boots. But your analysis of the real world correlation with what we're seeing on screen is absolutely astute and insightful. On a side note, i've been a LONG time subscriber, since before you even had 10k subscribers and you have just kept improving in every single way, i'm so proud of how far you've come and look forward to every upload you provide. Not big DX fans? Guess I'm the exception. I may not agree with everything Hunter and Shawn have done, in or out of the ring, but I've always enjoyed their segments and matches, whether they're opponents, a tag team, or separate, against others.

I just have to say, I wasn't a huge wrestling fan growing up and I don't really watch the current stuff, but I was a wcw fan for awhile in the late 90s early 2000s. I absolutely love this series. Thanks for the effort.

Hennig main-eventing each week made sense, seeing as he had the most prestigious belt that was actually being defended on a regular basis.

I just have to say, I wasn't a huge wrestling fan growing up and I don't really watch the current stuff, but I was a wcw fan for awhile in the late 90s early 2000s. I absolutely love this series. Thanks for the effort.
