An alternate theory is that they are (a) targetting the remaining audience hasn’t deserted TV for video games and tiktok, that demo is low IQ, and (b) being driven by statistical models which, by nature, are backward looking and rely on limited data (i.e. if you were told to make a list of the top 10 reasons why Infinity War was successful you would be looking at all the wrong variables for the next Avengers movie)

They cannot course correct. At this point it would be the same as accepting defeat and proving us right, they would rather destroy everything than making something that would actually please us.
Well, it beats trying to stretch the one story these 'creatives' can tell across twenty episodes. Mind, it also guarantees that whatever they produce will be stupendously expensive. Which leads us back to the 'money laundering' narrative.
The reason we don't have 22 to 24 episodes per series/season is because "Network Syndication" isn't a thing anymore thanks to streaming taking over from traditional US TV. Shorter series runs are cheaper to make overall and according to research are easier for audiences to digest/follow. In the UK we have always had short series runs of 6 to 8 episodes depending on the broadcaster/writers, as again it's cheaper to do overall and also due to the fact that we live in a small country. You have Netflix to thank for starting the trend of shorter seasons, as they set the benchmark internationally with their original shows.
it is 9 episodes but that is change of industry because of streaming and has very little to do with writers since they have little to no control of episodes of their shows
I'm okay with the concept of a miniseries on principle, but when there's 3.5 years in between this and WandaVision, we've completely lost whatever stamina we might have had!

Disney wants to have cake and also eat it. I think a lot of bad writers or creators suffer from lack of original vision. Rather than a single consistent vision and through line of a narrative theme, bad writers tend to grab everything they like from every other writer and just squish it together. An amalgamation of different genres is very rarely a good thing and is a possible sign that the story is not going to be worth the time. It's the same as saying hey guys rather than make a nice dinner, I just grabbed everything out of my fridge and cooked it all together. Hope you enjoy it.
The characters are more focused on their tropes rather than how they fit into the story. Like they’re trying to present someone as a hero, but ignore the heroes journey.
One thing is original thought, but these writers have the comics. They could copy pasta from the stories and at least get a ok story. But they seem unwilling to spend the time, doing research. Instead, they make a self insert story, after 5 min on wikipedia.
This just isn't true, George lucas created star wars by taking elements he liked from lots of sources. No creative is 100% unique, we all borrow from elsewhere, intentionally or not. Strangely, I had a little hope for this show when the trailer came out. In the first few seconds, I was under the impression that they would go for something like a "split personality" adventure, where "Not Agatha" (the detective) would have to fight against "Agatha" for the right to exist. I figured that being trapped as a "TV Character" would've fractured Agatha's mind and allowed for a different personality to be born and that it would be about who Agatha wants to be. ... Show is actually pretty good
A season used to be 23 to 26 episodes. Now they think 6 is a full season. The writers and creators are not creative
Well, it beats trying to stretch the one story these 'creatives' can tell across twenty episodes.
Mind, it also guarantees that whatever they produce will be stupendously expensive. Which leads us back to the 'money laundering' narrative.
And they still have pointless filler scenes or episodes

Basically, a bad fanfic.

They should change the title again to "Agatha: No One Watched"; "Agatha: All Is Wrong"; "Agatha: Underwhelms"
Agatha: Crashes and Burns
Lololol.
She-Hulk had the same kind of marketing. It's crazy that they're saying stuff like "it's so unique", "something you've never seen on tv", and "you're welcome". You literally have the shovel in your hands and you're digging the hole.
So, can we expect this show to attack the fans directly, too, or just leave the direct attacks to the marketing lolcows?
Not one person in marketing was like : “guys, have you seen the result of ‘this is the gayest Star Wars ever’ and having ‘singing lesbian witches’ on the show … maybe we should strategize a little differently for Agatha.”
Nah… let’s fucking QUADRUPLE DOWN!
Well, to be _absolutely_ fair, by the time the audience reaction to _The Acolyte_ came out, they didn't have time to do more than change the title. _Again._
To be less fair, the reaction to _The Acolyte_ wasn't a surprise for anybody, having seen the way the marketing campaign came out swinging against the fans.
To be _slightly_ more fair, it's not entirely clear how much KK's people talk to the Marvel folks. Which is still awfully damning to Disney as a whole.
I thought of a new title for it: Agatha: The Acolyte of Marvel
Throbbing.
Agatha: All Is Wrong
Yas Yaaas 😂
Oh yeah, this is going to be a thing. Looking forward to forgetting it two months after Disparu's reviews (just like I did Echo).
I'm not gonna lie, I had to think for a few seconds to remember Echo - or rather, remember Disparu laughing at/with Echo (mostly at).
You mean Echo was real? Just thought it was one of those obscure dreams I could only remember half of the day after.
I honestly still cant believe echo and madam web happend this year, it feels like that was like 3 freaking years ago.
I didn't mind the Character of Echo in the Hawkeye show, but definitely not enough for a whole show about her. She wasn't that interesting
@@iAmPimmiCue Isn't she minority enough for you? Or is it just that you want your characters to be about more than just their race/disability? Because one of those is just plain supremacy from what I hear.
Disney -We have learned our lessons and wish to once again become profitable.
Also Disney - Next up: Snow White, Agatha, Sue Storm-led Fantastic Four, and All female Blade reboot.
If it’s female and gay led can it at least be well written with character arcs and themes?
Nope no story
I’ll take my cash and attention elsewhere thanks
These people have a lot of confidence in a project that's basically DOA
Deciding that its bad because a trailer is the real cringe
Getting annoyed that the actors- outside of the show are middle aged women, and getting annoyed their humor is that of a middle aged woman is insane
The show is CAMP. Also nobody said "mavel not for straight white men" they literally said "whats a misconseption"

@danilutka i love how you think its all about you. I am refferring to the actors having a sense of human appropriate to their age OUTSIDE of the show. My point was LITERALLY that its concerning to say "this show is bad, because the actors arent funny to me in interveiws" like telll me how that makes sense to hate on a show

Another show about the bad guys.
After seeing the first 2 episodes I thought it was actually not bad. I'm going to watch it all. Yes there's DEI BS and silly songs, but it's actually a fun show.
You're wrong. Yes, She-Hulk and the new Star Wars is terrible, but this show is solid. Deal with it.

"safe as kittens.. in springfield" LMFAO!!
This show isn’t bad for marvel tv standards if anything it’s interesting.
The fact is a lot of new viewers are VERY into this show. A lot of them are women too. Y'all are not seeing the oppurtunity to have a shared interest and being able to share stuff with a whole new audience. You could literally be the one to introduce a new marvel fan to [insert the movie/theme you love the most] and they will probably dig it.

Why is this even being made?
Agatha Harkness is a Z list supporting character that no one but the most die hard comic readers even knew existed.
Who are they going to give a series or movie next Willie Lumpkin, Wyatt Wingfoot? Big Wheel?
Agatha is also supposed to be a good guy, she is Franklin Richards’ nanny, and is involved with the Midnight Sons, along with the more supernatural elements of the Marvel Universe, think she’s helped out Dr Strange a couple of times as well
From the perspective of a diehard comic book reader: This show has nothing to do with the comic book character at all. They just use the name. So in a way, the comic book fans will be the ones least interested in this as it does its best to not be for them at all.
@@brockdavid she's also supposed to be an old woman. But I guess they don't think a woman in her mid 60s or more will can be used for the 18 spinoffs that they have lined for the character
Agatha go's good: marvel does dark knights movie: intro into the abby: agatha is dead an works at the abby with wanda: wanda becomes a avaneger again: and wolverine an blade an ghost rider all there too.
Gotta get her good an dead haha 😄 to get the super hero dark knights stuff.
Moon knight will probably be their too.
Just wish it didn't take 4 to 5 years to get to..
Slow production schedule i guess. An the other parts of the mcu in the way.
Worth it though I'd that's were it's going. An im like 99% sure it is.
Just wait for the whole season to drop, an skip all the slow parts an watch the good parts.
It’s like the notes for promotion of every project, number 1 is “insult and piss off the majority of your fans, as well as the people who created your company and it’s IPs”.
bro the show is actually good💀💀💀
There is no way that I Disney can turn it around. There is a concept that in order to recognize a right answer, you require the same skill set to generate a correct answer. To put it more relevant to this, you need a level of competence in order to recognize competent people. These people think they are competent, so they can not hire deliberately hire people who are. The rot is too deep for them to recover.
Strangely, I had a little hope for this show when the trailer came out. In the first few seconds, I was under the impression that they would go for something like a "split personality" adventure, where "Not Agatha" (the detective) would have to fight against "Agatha" for the right to exist. I figured that being trapped as a "TV Character" would've fractured Agatha's mind and allowed for a different personality to be born and that it would be about who Agatha wants to be.
... But, of course not. A few illusionary seconds, then we go right back in to the cheap "Disney Show" trope with all of the "DEI checklist" and the "women can't be evil" cringe.
Isn’t lesbians and witches kind of an offensive stereotype? They’ve been associated together since Salem.
Sense witchcraft was called witchcraft
Many witches' worship includes the concept of divine feminity - it's all very inter-related.
I've done a fair amount of research on the Salem Witch Trials and have NEVER come across any speculation that any of the "witches" were alphabet people, or even that they were accused of being alphabet people. Do you have specific examples?
@@talithakoum3922 No, Salem itself is wrong. But when they were witch hunting in England earlier... most likely? Gay men always got way more attention because men were socially more important. Lesbians wouldn't have presented inheritance complications and because the sexes were generally segregated they wouldn't have been easily distinguishable from the much larger group of women who were simply spinsters. Most likely the evidence will be when one of a pair of women pretended to be male; I think there was some of that in Holland, dating from after Salem FWIW.
@@talithakoum3922 Maybe I'm thinking of Danvers. Or Scotland. Either way, witches and lesbians have been associated since at least the 17th century. It's a stereotype at this point.
Pretty much every depiction of witches devolves into lesbianism, even Sabrina ended up that way.
imo agatha all along isnt very cringe, sure it has some cringy parts but its not entirely cringe. this show is excellent

Just like Wandavision, them trying to hide Agnes being Agatha when everyone knew all along. It wasn't even a reveal when she said her true name in episode 7. They could have tried harder hiding her identity.
This case a teen boy getting mixed up with witches especially one with strong connections to Wanda? Gee I wonder who he is. Definitely not Wanda's son in the comics who also happens to be gay and magical.
I really couldn't care less about these characters, but it feels absolutely insane that his name is just a religion. It's like calling a character Hindu or something

I miss when Hollywood would at least cast attractive people. Even if I was interested in this show, the repulsive cast is just goddamn horrendous
Wasn’t there a story the other day Zegler doesn’t have any new films coming but Sidney Sweeney has like a dozen? If that’s true there’s hope
I wouldn’t say horrendous. But at best they’re painfully ordinary. If I want 'real life' I’ll look out the window.
@@richtesSweeney is like the only hot chick in Holluwood right now
@@richtesRachel Zegler is an absurd anomaly. Every normal actor has like a dozen small time movies/shows to his/her name, because they need to start somewhere to make it. But Rachel Zegler has basically only big name productions on her imdb, showing that she was pushed from day 1.
But yes, right now it seems like Hollywood is holding its breath till Snow White to finally decide if she is in fact box office poison.
PS: The Paddington 3 people are right now probably happy they got rid of her cheap.
They aren't ugly, they're normal. It's the fake glamourification of it all that makes it repulsive, no humility, no down-to-earthness, just hubris and open hostility towards a huge part of their intended audience.
