17:21 1. Eat Simply. High variety fuels appetite.
22:06 2. Most calories from Whole Starches, Fruits and Vegetables. Low calorie density.
32:55 3. Avoid restaurants. Most add fat, salt and sugar to their pre-prepped ingredients.
38:03 4. Practice abstinence. Even a small amount of your problem food can derail you.
45:28 5. Daily Movement. Physical activity improves self-esteem and willpower.
49:26 6. Be Prepared. Having healthy food ready wherever you are will lead to good choices.
54:39 7. Create a Clean Environment. If it's in your house, it's in your mouth.

I used to do long hours (24-36 hours or OMAD)of fasting and lost 15 pounds in a month and look younger . However fasting got me binge eating.the weight lost gained back so fast within 1 week.now I no longer do longer hour fasting and gradually dropped weight as I eat within 8- hour window and eat a lot vegetables and at least 1 pound sweet potato or any other Japanese or jersey potatoes each meal with other plant based protein. My skin is so clear and feeling sooo good. Fasting longer than 16 hours does not work for me but I can do 16 hours with 8 hour window. I am happy that I find the sweet spot and thank you so much. Chef AJ. I listened to you and eat starch, eat vegetables for lunch.( I do not eat breakfast). Eating food in Green area makes me happy , satisfied and I am not very happy with my weight(128 pounds)

I so appreciate everything that was covered, as well as Chef AJ genuine demeanor. I have been leaning towards not eating as much meat, but all these diets against carbs messed up my thinking for so long. I love potatoes and oatmeal, which I now learn satiate hunger. Eating just salads and vegetables just wasn’t giving me what I felt I needed. Thank you for giving me the freedom of eating the Whole foods God created for us. Again, I am so very grateful! Take care and keep up the good work.

I’m so inspired to practice and keep developing heathy habits, like preparing in advance for every day of your life and take your instant pot, girl! I would🙂

The misquote was that Chef AJ has been dedicated to WFPB for 43 years. I learned a lot from her honesty about being an overweight unhealthy vegan for many years. I believe she came to WFPB much more recently than age 17! Maybe she was around 50. Vegan is good, but, it’s much easier to eat junk as a vegan which AJ shares very well in her books.

Intermittent fasting and toning exercise greatly reduced loose skin. I've lost around 100 lbs. I eat very close to chef AJ style, but only a 6 he window and mild toning at least every other day. It's not a quick process, but sticking with the process has reduced loose skin in my back and abdomen...not gone, but so much less.

God bless you both! This interview really find me. I have been vegan since 10 years, I started very good, eating a lot of raw and fruits, no salt no oil, I was in fanstastic shape. Then some years pass by, a lot happened, I was travelling and I was not being able to cook for myself and I gain some weight. I start to fast and I started to think that something was off in my body. I was already eating vegan and gluten free, and no sugar mostly, but I still had cravings about more complex and process food. I started the keto diet, mostly a vegan version, and it really fucked me up. I start to binge eating, which I never done before. After 6-7 months of trying and failing miserably, during another fast, I had the light bulb switching on in my brain, and I was definitely DONE with any animal product's doubt, and with the low-carb non-sense, thanks God.
I am now a bit overweight, not too much, and I am going to cut out oil and salt to get those kilos away.
Thank you Chef AJ and Dr. Cyrus. God bless you! Your work is hugely important!

Stick to brown rices, I love brown jasmine rice. You need to eat enough to be full. White pasta is ok in moderation, but best to stick to whole grain pasta.

Exercise is important for brain health, bone health, immune function, cardiovascular health and it helps with weight maintenance because it increases will power and self esteem and when both of these things are high you have a greater chance of sticking to a healthy eating plan. Exercise helps rewire the brain and helps with addictions. Exercise makes you look longer and leaner regardless of your weight. - Chef AJ

At the time of Jesus life, scholars estimate 300 million people on earth. there are almost 8 billion now. We are decimating ocean life through overfishing. not too mention the harm to highly intelligent marine mammals like dolphins who get caught in nets. Plus fish now contain microplastics that are potential endocrine disruptors. Jesus would want us to protect the worlds oceans, they are part of God's creation too.

as I watch this video what I contemplate
is how much physical weight I have to release:
(75.2 Lbs to be precisely exact!)
for the sake of my health
    and for my well-being.
    the thing is though...
I realize that I desperately also
hold on to all the excess weight:
    for safety and for comfort.
    dear God, please please please,
help the weight dissolve off of me,
and please help me to no longer have the need
to hold on to any of it, for the illusion
of safety and protection. I am ready
    to be permanently, forever released
    from these shackles...

    1. So I’ve been doing this plant based diet for about a month and was so disappointed this morning when I weighed myself and only lost 1/2 pound in a week! I’m about a hundred pounds overweight so it’s at this rate it will take me 4 years to take it off. And since starting, I’m having a lot of pain with my gallbladder. When I eat too much fat my gallbladder hurts and apparently when I eat no fat it hurts my gallbladder too! What the heck am I supposed to do! Please help me!!!!
I’m eating a lot of lentils, beans, and veggies, no oil, no nuts, no avocado etc. of course no meat or dairy.
