Cozy apartment! Leave the glass doors. Will keep out dust. Add some lights inside and the glass will refract the light. Estate sales are great to find real treasures at low cost!! Love that big rug.
When my husband died and I retired from a job I loved for 30 years, I really wanted to move from a very empty feeling 6-bedroom house and start over closer to family. It was a life affirming move. I love your apartment! The light, the art you’ve chosen, and the warm woods are soulful and charming.
Yay for you! At 42 I moved from Ohio (my small hometown) to Seattle....6 years later to Dubai....2 years later to Uzbekistan....4 years later to Switzerland where I still live with my husband....we are never too old for adventure and new beginnings. Wishing you wonderful things in 2024! Your place is fabulous!! Cheers from Zurich!!
I love your new life! I'm 61 and was also in a rut and felt pretty much the way you did. The universe sent me several signs that it was time to go. I had been thinking about it for years but decided and moved across the country in a three-week time frame. While I love and miss my family and friends there, I have not regretted it for one minute. More importantly, I feel happy, light, more confident, and proud of myself. My goal is to have as many fun adventures as I can, no matter where I am.
Thank you for choosing to share some of the personal stuff that went into your cross-country move. I'm glad you have so much family support AND a new love. I'm about to turn 51 and am facing starting over, but without much support (family or financial), so this vlog was inspirational. Your apartment is stunning, and I'm so happy you decided to make that little turret space into a reading nook instead of a workspace. Best of luck to you on this new and exciting chapter. :)
I just return from 12 days in Portland, ME. The charm of East Coast architecture is unique. I kept saying “I could live here!” Those soaring ceilings and tall windows are stunning, making the red rugs an excellent choice. A neutral base on the floors would get lost in all that open space. The red grounds the area and makes a statement. It’s warm, cheerful, vibrant, exciting, compliments the wood and truly breathtaking. I would leave the glass doors on the cabinets. It’s part of the charm. Open shelving is “so yesterday” lol. Plus, even with a quality range hood, the glass doors will keep kitchen “gunk” and dust from finding your display pieces..
This age…the third-third of life ….sneaks up on us…..I’m the last one alive from my childhood family now, so I know EXACTLY what you are saying! When mom passed during Covid, everyone thought I’d move into that home, but I just didn’t want to because it made me so sad. Thanks so much for sharing this very vulnerable part of your life. I’ve loved your channel since it kept me company years back when we went into months of pandemic seclusion, and I was caring for mom as her body deteriorated before passing. I learned so much about skin care. I’m a no fuss kind of person and really hadn’t paid much attention to the advances that had been made in products. It was more than just “influencing”. It was a weekly touch base with someone outside of my very limited environment. I looked so forward to the next post! Anywho….thanks for everything. This feels like having a conversation with a friend who has been “through some stuff” with me. 😉 Merry Christmas Eve🎄
Definitely leave the door on the cabinet. It will look so beautiful when you put lights inside. I agree with another commenter that having it open would change the look of the kitchen. It is nicely balanced now. Plus you would have to deal with the holes left when the hinges are removed. This advice is coming from a retired kitchen designer.
I’m so happy for you, Tamara! Moving makes total sense, especially with your brother and sister just a few hours away. It’s really nice that you have a romance there, too! Even Bosley likes it, has new friends and most importantly, is healthier. Nice to see much happiness in your life!
I just stumbled onto your vlog and I'm a fan already! I can't wait to see how your decorating turns out but love it now just as it is! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing those things that are personal, you don't have to share it but your followers definitely appreciate it. So happy for you that you ventured out of your comfort zone and are thriving!! You are an inspiration!
The lovely response I am getting from this video has showed me how sharing really can bring me closer to my wonderful community. Thank you for you sweet comment and Happy New Year!
Awesome apartment, and I would leave those lovely cabinet doors in place. I think they will make your special display pieces pop! As a native New Yorker, I think the Hudson Valley is one of the most beautiful locations to live in! Best of luck with all, and thanks for always making such informative and well detailed videos!
Tamara, as I was watching your video I realized I had the biggest smile. Everything about your apartment is beautiful and unique. I feel like I've just made a new friend, even though I've been a subscriber for years. Thank you for sharing your personal story. Merry Christmas!
Aww...thank you so much Lisa. I have been hesitant to share personal stuff...but sharing has made me feel so much closer to my wonderful community. Happy New Year! ❤️
I just love this apartment. So inviting the wood work is amazing. I am so happy for you and Bosley. I would leave the cabinets with the glass door on. Merry Christmas ❤
Oh Tamara, your new apartment is so gorgeous. I really love the red rugs and the way you have incorporated pops of red in your decor! So glad you were able to bring your beautiful vine in your move. It looks like all your plants are thriving in the beautiful sunlight as well. Best wishes for love and laughter in your days ahead!
Tamara, what an inspirational story! Good for you stepping out and trying something new. You look peaceful and happy. And yay for a new romance! Merry Christmas and may the new year bring you much joy and happiness.
Such a beautiful classic apartment. Our school was torn down and reminds me so of your apartment. It could have been great apartments in a larger area. Kudos to whoever had this vision Very tasteful as is your decorating. I admire your courage, it seems to be a wonderful move! Happy New Year!
Aww...this is adorable! I love the character and charm of the apartment. I say keep the glass doors. They are charming with your pottery. So happy for you! You have taken a big leap and I'm so happy it is working out, especially in the love area. 😉 Yay! 👏👏♥️
The wood frames, doors and moldings are stunning. I appreciate this not being painted white. Gorgeous! The way you decorated compliments this apartment. Nicely done.
Your apartment is lovely, homey and historical - what could be better than that! I love the transom over your apartment door, it really caught my eye. The way you have decorated is perfect and I love both of your red rugs. The colors included in the rugs, especially the living room rug make it fun to pull from to decorate. It's wonderful you have family in upstate NY, a place I've always wanted to visit but never have. Thank you for sharing with us!
Thanks for sharing, I feel like we could be friends. I am so sorry for your losses. I find grief to be the hardest part of aging, which is not usually even mentioned. I admire your courage for the move. I moved in September after 28 years to a different State! There was grief in that too because of the huge amount of downsizing needed. I like your beautiful rolltop desk. I had to give mine away... Anyway, I am enjoying getting to know my new city and spending lots of time with the grandkids!
As we get older, the loss of friends and family can be very difficult. I have family in the area where we live but my boyfriend's family is more scattered. We're an hour's drive from my cousins who live in the suburbs but it's important for me to be close to my brother who is 85 years old and beginning to experience mobility issues. Every season of life has its complications and I do believe you made the right decision. Your apartment is charming; you have great taste and it's already cozy and welcoming. Wishing you a happy new year.
I don’t think I’ve commented before but I had to tell you that your apartment is so lovely!……the windows, the architecture, and your kitchen!👍🏻I would keep the cupboard doors and add some lights. The artwork over your bed is stunning! So glad you are happy, it truly is a home sweet home!❤️
Tamara your new home is truly beautiful. I'd leave the glass doors on your cabinets. Open shelving is just more to dust/clean 😂. I was quite shocked to hear about your friend Julie’s passing. I think the chat with Julie video was one of the first I saw when I started following your channel. It”s hard to accept the loss of someone so lovely and vibrant. It drives home the fact that we are not all granted the privilege of growing old. I am sorry for your loss. Of course I don’t know you but somehow feel like I do and I’ll be raising a glass to you this Christmas wishing you much health and happiness for this new and exciting chapter in your life.
How lucky you are to have such a beautiful home. After the adorable cottage you had before I am just blown away at the large space. Most apartments are just space you use to live but this one has so much classic style and beauty. Merry Christmas!
@@TamarasTimelessBeauty It is spacious but what I love even more is the character. That is so rare in an apartment. Happy New Year, looking forward to some great videos in that beautiful space.
Your living space is amazing! I love the architecture and the quality of the materials. Letting it be the “star of the show” must be such fun. Current day builds just don’t give the bones like this one does. You just don’t need much as it might detract. Great use of color! Merry Christmas Eve🎄
Tamara I'm a senior as well and lost my significant other in August as have been so sad and crying. It is a joy to share with us your new home and I love your place. Love the doors. I'm on the eastern shore of Maryland. Are you keeping your cottage in Minn? In the past video's I enjoyed seeing your garden as well as your paintings. May you be blessed with much happiness in your new home ❤
Really lovely apartment! ❤ I love your rugs too, they really bring your rooms to life and match the wood perfectly. I think you’ve done amazing especially at your time of life. Yes, it’s never too late for a change, I wish you all the happiness in the world, you deserve it! 🎉❤ take care xxxxxx
I am in my late fifties and planning on retiring soon. After that, I would like to move to a place I love...near the ocean or within short driving distance. I love Upstate NY, too. It's just nice to know that we can begin again! Thank you for the inspiration!
Beautiful apartment Tamara, thank you for the tour! I would leave the doors on. Love the natual light coming in through the windows. Glad to hear that Bosley is adjusting nicely. You seem so happy and content. That's awesome that you have a new person in your life, congrats!! Wishing you all the best for 2024 my beautiful friend, you deserve it! 🥰
Congratulations Tamara on your beautiful new life and apartment! I also moved to a new city in 2020. I’m in my 60s and so happy with the move! It took me over 1 years to finish all the decor and furniture. Please take your time! Would you consider putting the couch away from the wall to the middle of the room? The tv to where the desk is. That may give you room for a dining table behind the sofa and the wall. And the sofa would then face the tv. Your window seat would also be in the same area as the sofa, and provide extra seating for guests. There may be room for the desk in the area in front of the far right window. I furnished and decorated from scratch with the help of a great designer friend. Congratulations again and wishing you many blessings on your new life! 🌷💕
Love all the light in your new home! And, the rugs add great pops of color! I'm anxious to see the loveseat, too! Good for you for taking such an adventurous, bold step! I, too, have had lots of loss in my life..."shaking things up" at our age isn't always easy, but it most often brings content and happiness!
Lovely! So happy for you! One tip---I LOVE the rugs but I would swap them around---I would put the one in the living room into your bedroom, and the bedroom rug into the living room! Just try it!
Love all the pops of red in your new apartment! I'm glad you and Bozlee are settling in nicely. I love that he even has new friends! Your reasons for moving make perfect sense to me as I've experienced quite a lot of loss in this life as well. My heart truly goes out to you! It's so lovely to see you and Bozlee absolutely thriving nowadays! Happy New Year, Tamara!!! 💖💖💖
What an absolutely gorgeous apartment! I love the arch over the kitchen island and all of the natural wood accents. it’s beautiful I’m looking forward to seeing it as it progresses with your decorating touches and furniture additions. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. 😊
You are so inspiring to me. I'm going through menopause and about to move across the country with my husband who will retire next month, and watching your videos on aging gracefully and then this video now too (I am a new subscriber), I just feel so much better about my future. Thank you for your content!
Oh wow, what a stunning apartment- beautiful original Features- what a find!! I’ll definitely be interested to see how the decoration progresses, and I’m sure I’m not alone so please keep us filled in! 😊❤
Your new apartment is lovely. I especially love your two paintings from your daughter and your aunt. They are so you! Thrilled for you for your move and your new romance.
Tamara thank you for the wonderful video. I love your new home. The artwork is perfect. The rugs seem to fit in well. The woodwork is amazing & the kitchen is a wow!!! Thank you also about answering questions about your aunt. I was concerned. Happy for you about the new relationship which will make your holidays even merrier. Merry Christmas to you & Bosley 🎄❤🐕
Love your new apartment!! It is so homey looking, and I can see why you love it. It's great to hear of your happiness there in NY. And also great to hear of your new romance! Merry Christmas Tamara! 🎄🎄
Yr apt. is very charming/ cosy. I think a move like this is so important later in life. I am originally from Norway, and miss the city life so much! Where I live now it’s way to quiet, and I think people in the Midwest is so unfriendly! Had no idea that this is for sure a place I can’t live! So, I will do the move to New York. My favorite city in the USA. Tell me if u found everything u we’re looking for in this move ! Thank u for giving us women later in life the courage to start over.Good luck further 🙏. Alexandra
Your apartment is a dream. So many beautiful windows letting in light ❤ Best of luck in your new area. I moved from Minnesota two years ago to the south to be near my married daughters and my three precious grandchildren. I’ve been a widow for sixteen years. It was very hard letting go of my house in Minnesota but being close to my family was a good decision for me.
What a beautiful apartment! You’re so lucky to have closets. Used to live in an old house, barely any closets, huge windows that were really drafty and hard to heat with high ceilings. I hope you’re luckier! What great things you’ve been gifted!!
Wow, it looks so nice now that you have some furniture. I think it’s so nice you’re hunting for thrift items to add to your home, thrifting is so much fun. What a great way to start your new year. ❤
Congrats on your new home; there's something spiritual about living by the water. I moved into my dream home 14 years ago. It overlooks a tidal marsh and I've given it a coastal cottage look, little by little. I especially love my bright and sunny kitchen which greets me every morning.
Beautiful! I remember watching the video with your friend a few years ago and I’m so sorry to hear she passed away. I hope this new life you’re creating brings you joy. Merry Christmas 🎄
Your apartment is beautiful!!! Your windows and all the natural sunlight they bring in is breathtaking!!! I bet you can’t wait to have that reading nook finished so you can have your morning coffee while watching the sunrise!!! All of this space must feel like a palace after your little cottage. Enjoy Tamara, you deserve this!!!
I just love your place! The view is so nice and sweet Bozlee looks like he is in heaven there basking in the sunlight while taking his nap. God Bless you and keep you both.
Oh what lovely news, Tamara, and how beautiful is your apartment, and how quickly you've settled in and made it look so homely. Thank you for sharing it and I hope you have a happy festive time with your family ❤❤❤
I love your new apartment & am so happy you have a special someone in your life. I just turned 63 on December 19 & met a wonderful man last May who is now the love of my life! It’s never too late! Merry Christmas & many Blessings to you in 2024! ❤🎄🙏🏻
Very nice apartment unit... I would definitely keep those kitchen doors on your glass cupboards. By removing them would cheapen the the look of your kitchen. Acquire portable lighting for each shelf unit and see how beautiful and rich it adds to the asthetic. Could add more on decor tips, but I will leave you at it.
Beautiful home. It looks so cozy and comfortable. Change is always good. Thank you for sharing a part of your life. Happy to hear Bosley is doing well and enjoying his new friends. Really enjoyed the tour. 👍🥰🌹
I love your new home. I would keep the doors on the kitchen cabinets. You might want to get glass shelves made and of course the lights would be great. Lots of happiness in your new home.
Beautiful!! I’m so happy for you Tamara!! It sounds like upstate New York is perfect!! And, I agree with everyone, the glass doors on the cupboards should remain… less dust 😊. Enjoy your new and exciting life!! Happy Holiday!!
So excited and happy for you . Apartment is gorgeous. Looking forward to hearing about new adventures and your make up reviews and skincare preferences. Happy happy new year
Big congratulations on your new place and all of your new adventures Tamara! I was curious about your reasons but would never ask. Your willingness to be open, honest and comfortable being exactly who you are, where you’re at, says a lot about you and the wonderful message I got from your share is how much more we (humans) have to unite over; we all share life’s challenges and celebrations. Appreciate you, love your new place, happy Bosley is doing so well, and Happiest Holidays to you and yours! ♥️🫶🏻💕🎄
Tamara ! I thought you had more than a skincare healthy glow to you & it shows with the sparkle in your eyes best of luck 🤩. You have a beautiful life and well deserved . Merry Christmas & Happy New year 🎄PS . I have the same throw that Bosley is on , soo soft ! I have it on me right now as I watch your video 😂
WHAT?! ROMANCE?! You can’t do that to us!😂😂😂 I mean…of course you can, but geez what a little piece of juicy info to drop on us in the last 5 seconds of the video!😂 Hope we’ll get to meet him at some point🤞🏻 Anyway, super cute apartment, so glad you’re happy and thriving. Hugs from Ohio ❤
What a joyful video. I’m inspired. I’m soon 70 and need to make some changes for similar reasons. Your curiosity about life, and positive attitude are contagious. Thank you for sharing. I’m loving your minimalist look about your new home. So clean and neat, but warm and welcoming. Merry Christmas 🎄
Tamara, your Apt is looking amazing. Warmth, cozy and love all the windows. I bet you are very happy with having a Full Kitchen etc. love it. Your decor thus far looks amazing. Thank you for giving us a tour. I don’t think I could show my bedroom as for me it’s My Private Space lol. But it’s beautiful.
Your apartment is so inviting and beautiful! I'm so glad you are happy in NY! Definitely tour the town of Rhinebeck and the Hyde Park area mansions at Christmas time. And in the warmer weather when there's lots of fairs. I understand when your home area changes with losses and things just aren't the same. Very inspiring video! Bozlee is so cute! I had a poodle just like him 🥰❤
Love your new home. I would keep the glass doors on the cabinets in the kitchen. So excited to hear you have a new romance. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy, Healthy, Prosperous New Year!
Hello, spring in your step, Tamara! It is my first time viewing your site. Your new home is perfect. It looks like quality plus, plus. Love the beautiful dark wood and lots of windows. I wish you all the happiness possible in your life.
Smiling big...was hoping for this one. I couldn't do any decorating this year so I was hoping you'd do this since I LOVE your new place and enjoying watching your journey into it so naturally I wanted to see it at Christmas time! It's so beautiful! Merry Christmas to you Tamara, love you!
So happy I happen upon your channel. As I have said in the past video of yours, I am entering my 60 years of life. I grew up in upstate New York above Albany on a farm. I lost my mom when I was 12 years old, and was brought up in a world. My married life was on Long Island for 19 years when I lost my husband I was just 49 years old but he was 15 years older than me. I ventured to New Hampshire to live by a brother of mine for 4 1/2 years. Then, as life gets in our way, time to move on. I looked for places to purchase there with no luck, and then had a brother in North Carolina and looked there. The second day I was there I walked into a townhome and knew I was home. That was about seven years ago. I also have a 13 year old Shih Tzu. And in all honesty, I was fine with just my little guy and me for the rest of my life. I am very independent and very blessed to be able to afford to live comfortably. Then one day walking my dog, A southern gentleman stopped me and introduced himself to me and asked if he could take me out to lunch. I was so OK with my life that I said to him “ I just wanna be upfront with you and let you know I don’t cook”. He says back to me.” That’s OK, we’ll just go out to eat. I don’t like the cook either.” We have been together for about three years. He has the same townhouse down the road and it’s the best of both worlds. He takes me for exactly what I have to offer and who I am and I don’t try to change at all either. We just have a lot of fun together, I hope that your life is filled with joy and happiness with a new life you have entered into the time of your life.

Thank you so much! I agree...the architecture is the star of the show...less is more! Happy New Year!
What a beautiful home! It's perfect foil for vintage furniture and decor. I love your artwork.
Charming and homey..those rugs..love! Yhanks for this update.
Thank you Mel! Happy New Year Gorgeous! ❤
Thank you Anita! Great advice to take my time...and thank you for your suggestions! It's always good to consider options. Happy New Year!
@@TamarasTimelessBeauty Happy New Year! Wishing you health, happiness and abundant blessings for the New Year! 🌟
Your apartment is beautiful and so welcoming and cozy! I’m so glad you are happy and Bozley is liking his new home!
Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much Dolores! Happy New Year!
💖💖💖
😘💕❤
Beautiful!!!!!
Love your apartment!
I would add end tables and a few cozy lamps. Tiffany, with some reds or amber, would add a soft but colorful glow.
Thank you Janet! Happy New Year!
Thank you so much Debbie! Happy New Year! ❤
Yr apt. is very charming/ cosy.
Thank you for this video. ❤ It was encouraging. I’m 59 and getting ready for a big move to a new state. I am both excited and nervous.
I'm so thrilled for you Tamara - your apartment is wonderful and it sounds like your new city brings you joy. Happy new year!
It's nice to have family and friends 🎉🎉🎉 you sound very happy❤
Thank you so much Laurie! Happy New Year!
Love your new apartment !! So happy for you !! ❤
Thank you so much Dez! Happy New Year!
Bravo! Well done! Your new nest is just beautiful! You look so happy & that is so important! Merry Christmas & Happy, Happy New Year!
❤🎉😊
I absolutely love your apartment and admire you for making a bold move. Merry Christmas.
Thank you for giving us a glimpse into this new season, and for always inspiring us to live well, in all respects. Blessings to you and Bosley!
Your apartment is amazing and you are decorating it so lovely. Lots of natural light and color. It is so cheery! Wishing you much happiness there.
Thank you so much Mechelle! Happy New Year!
Such a nice apartment! You have it decorated so cute! Many happy years in your new home!
Beautiful!! I’m so happy for you Tamara!! It sounds like upstate New York is perfect!! And, I agree with everyone, the glass doors on the cupboards should remain… less dust 😊. Enjoy your new and exciting life!! Happy Holiday!!
😘💕❤
Love your apartment. Good for you for taking the plunge and moving to a new place. Indeed life is short, and live it to it's fullest!
Welcome to the Hudson Valley. The seasons are beautiful here. The wineries, orchards are fun.

WHAT?!
What a gorgeous apartment and beautiful setting! I hope you enjoy your new home in the best of health and happy holidays!
What a lovely appartment you have! White walls give nice contrast to bright colours and earth tones. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
Congratulations on finding a great place to live for you and your sweet pup. I’m so happy for you! ❤
The darker finish on the doors and kitchen cabinets is very nice! Warm and homey!
Thank you so much! Happy New Year Karla! ❤️
@@TamarasTimelessBeautyyou and Bozly have a Blessed New Year.
Beautiful, warm, earthy & inviting!
I had a poodle just like him 🥰❤
Yes leave the glass doors. Lighting inside will be beautiful. So happy that you have found a safe cozy place. Its beautiful. Enjoy..hug Bosley❤

Thenk you so much Mary! Here's to an amazing 2024! Happy New Year Beautiful! ❤
Good for you!!! I agree, cooking in a new kitchen is so much more enjoyable!!!
Love the sunlight. Glad you made the move to ny.
