Tamara, this is the takeaway watching your video. No one has to have your same taste but the placement you used is very thought out. The used of color, texture, designated areas, function…all really well done. Of course you will keep making adjustments but I think things look very welcoming and happy. The blue bedding picks up the blue in your art really nicely. Great job ❤

Aww...thank you so much Jane. It's funny...in my tiny cottage I had a little nook where I could leave my filming stuff permanently set up. Even though this is much bigger...there just isn't a good place for a permanent set up. But it is so worth it and not that hard to set up and take down. The new Microphone makes it much easier because it cancels the echo so I don't need to put the mover's blankets down. And when I get my new light filtering shades that will be a big help as well.
YOUR APARTMENT IS SOOO INVITING!...IT LOOKS PEACEFUL, CALMING AND JUST RELAXING! THE DECOR IS VERY NICE...LOVE YOUR KITCHEN..LOVE THE ENTIRE APARTMENT! THE OLD VINTAGE STYLE APARTMENTS ARE SO CLASSY AND RICH LOOKING! THANKS FOR SHARING!!

As a fellow apartment dweller I have to say you are beyond lucky to have found such an incredible apartment!!! Mourning doves are my favorite bird!! My husband found the apartment for us, not something I would have chosen. I have north facing windows and my views are of the parking lot. Enjoy the gem of an apartment you have!!!
I love your new place and adore how you have decorated it. Not a cookie cutter abode at all. It reflects you and your personality. You might, as a money saver , think about instead of expensive blinds, shutters or drapes in the living area, having your cousin ( or someone )create some hinged panel screens to whatever height you feel will work. It is not a complicated project for those that know their way around wood and tools. Basically a long frame that is on hinges. Then you can add fabric panels to defuse light and / or hide your apt. from view when you want. When you aren't using them fold them up

I love those chairs in your livingroom, and all the houseplants I have killed in my current apartment, that gets little light, and has poor air quality. The beautiful view from your immense windows, is to die for. It’s interesting hearing about the mileage your end table has. I have met people who never left their home state. Furniture and decor items that have history are what make a house a home.

One of the reasons the yard is so huge is because it used to have a play ground and parking lot. And yes, as I walk through the halls I often imaging the kids going to their classrooms. I actually met a lady who's third grade classroom was in my apartment! And I met an elderly couple who both used to teach here. I feel very connected to the history of the community here.

Oh this was so exciting to watch! I have been so busy living my life that I had no idea you moved! What a beautiful home you have here...and all that space! It must seem so large and those tall ceilings and windows are a dream! Oh the sunlight & art...the room you have to grow! It looks like a very expensive condo! I see you have 2 RJ Fox prints over your bedroom! I used to own them both but sold them when the going got tough for me years ago. I had no idea you were even thinking about moving! I love it! I have always been a fan of Minnesota and I love your Governor there...( Mind your own business!),,lol...I am sending you lot of love and a big congratulations on your new life filled with space, sunlight, luxury and peace! Thank you Susan! I've been visiting my cousins here every summer for years and LOVE the area... After spending the entire summer here last summer I finally decided to take the plunge and moved here last September. Boz and I love it here! The apartment was meant to be and it's just a few doors down from my cousin. My brother and sister live just a couple hours away in Boston, so I have quite a bit of family here. The apartment is surprisingly affordable at $1200 a month...if it was in Minneapolis it would be at least 3K. As much as I enjoyed my tiny cottage....I LOVE all the space and light in this apartment...it truly is the most beautiful home I have ever lived in and I've had so much fun decorating it. The building has a HUGE yard that Boz loves..and I help my cousin with her gardens so I can get my hands in the soil anytime I want. And now I am having fun growing my indoor garden of house plants! The climate is less severe than Minnesota but still 4 beautiful seasons. MN is gardening zone 4 and here we are gardening zone 6...It NEVER gets below zero here. I am loving the slower pace of small town rural life. Complete with church bells 3 times a day, an ice cream truck and a farmers market overlooking the Hudson River just a couple blocks away. It reminds me of Mayberry RFD. You and I have both made big moves and are proof that you can start over in your 60s! Of course I do miss my MN family and friends, but have had lots of visitors this summer. And I ADORE Tim Walz ❤️

The washer and dryer in the apartment is a huge plus. I too am in a tiny town...Barnie and Andy are here...and I love it! I am so happy for you! A fresh start but a beautiful landing...and as we get older, being by family is EVERYTHING! I hope one day we get to visit in person!!! You are a total delight!!!

The Health & Safety Executive in the UK would have a fit if they saw a microwave mounted OVER a cooker! Your landlord would be in serious trouble..... To me, the wall behind the sofa looked better with the darker-framed vintage prints together with the group of plants in the 'before' photo - very stylish.
I wish I could do this at 71. From Puerto Rico to Ohio where my father was from and my daughter is living with her family. I don’t know if I could afford it. Haven’t seen apartments like yours when I visit her.

I absolutely love how you’ve styled your new apartment! I agree with you on how much charm the high ceilings and tall south-facing windows add to your vintage home. I’m also quite taken with the red in the rugs in your living and bedroom. Have you considered using a Red throw blanket on your sofa, to pull out the red in your daughter’s portrait and rug? Just a suggestion, as I personally love to use red when I can as it such a happy, vibrant colour! 😊

What a lovely apartment! I always enjoyed your home tours. I can tell you are loving your space. For the light diffusing for filming, consider buying a projection screen to cover the windows and partially filter the light. These are foldable and don't take much space when stored.

I grew up in a small town in New York also, Williamson. My family were not farmers but most of my relatives were. We always had plenty of homegrown food. I now live in California but have fond memories of those years.
