    Once you trigger the reset process, the turn signal light on each corner of the vehicle lights up to tell you where to start the programming. It was actually doing that as you were walking around the truck.

    Not sure on the newer vehicles. But you can just let some air out to trigger the TPMS sensors and they’ll start transmitting. I put my 2008 equinox in learn mode and just take a tire chuck and go around to each tire

    Can you tell you if you have a bad sensor?

    Question if a tire is plugged and tire pressure isn’t showing up. Do you think this reset would work?

      This tool's main purpose is to create the connection between the TPMS sensors to the car's computer. So when you get new sensors they may not automatically connect to the car's computer or if you rotate your tires the car may not realize new location. The relearn tool relearns the connection. If it is the same TPMS sensor in the tire, it may be that the battery in the TPMS has died and you need a new sensor. I don't think the relearn tool would help in your situation.

      Do you have stock rims on your truck? If you don't maybe the previous owner did not install TPMS sensors on the rims?

      @Edsoutdoors 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@flyonawall6521 correct the rims are not stock, although the vehicle previously belonged to my son, and yes, the sensors were put in the new wheels, although that is a very important point that you brought up and thank you

    I installed a second set of TPMS for my seasonal tires and wheels, have the tool but it doesn't respond during relearn. Is there a way to wake up the sensor without taking the tire apart again?

    • @lowleveltrim1819
      @lowleveltrim1819  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't think the TPMS go to sleep, unless the batteries die. It may be possible that the tpms in your other wheels are connected and causing interference with the new ones. Have you tried far from where the other wheels are?

      @@juanchoman9824 I took it to a tire shop that tested it with 4 different TPMS machines and none of them could read the signal. Tire guy said either a compatibility issue with the machines and the type of sensor, or nothing other than defunct sensors. I got a refund for the sensors but they're still in my car. Shit happens. Next time i do a tire mount I'll takea closer look.

    Will this tool work if the tire sensor is actually defective beyond being able to reset? Reason I ask is it worked 1st time. Message came back in 45 miles later and can’t get the tool to reset same tire again..,

    • @calholli
      @calholli 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If it's old.. the batteries do run out eventually. You'll likely need to get another one mounted in your tire--- and then use your tool to reset the new one.
