Yeah I think people may have researched it and found those old threads saying it won't fit which was true at the time but that changed with the f10 lci in 2014.
What's also interesting is the f01 7 series wheels should work as well. People put the m5/m6/f10 msport wheels into 7 series. So there's quite a few options from f01,f10, e89, e84 etc if you can sort electronics.
Vehicular DIY thanks man, I’ve been watching your build for sometime. This is an e90 thats never worth selling😂, talk about full send! I really wanted to do the manual swap on my 135i but I’m afraid like a baby 😂
Your wheel is missing this cover and I think that’s why you have make that thing ibb.co/LhhtTFn This is a cover and look this have this protection. And i think with this you don’t need that.... I think..... and btw great video thanks for sharing
@@VehicularDIY you can reach out to some of them and I guearentee you would succeed as most of your viewers own E90s (or plan to) so a sponsoring would make sense
When i was in the market for a used 4 series, cars without this wheel were literally 3-4 grand cheeper since no one wanted an f36 without it. As you said, it completely changes the entire feel of the car. The regular wheel is worthless.
Lol, this channel is one of the main reasons to get an e90 in 2020. I’m only half joking, though, the reason e90s are so great is the people in the community.
Just got to be careful with those magic erasers, they are like a very soft sander. You can eventually burn through so I wouldn't always clean with one as its very aggressive.
Vehicular DIY dont do that Ive seen in my f30 group people’s leather fades out entirely just from regular cleaning. A magic eraser literally scrapes away the leather. Safest and most effective is leather cleaner with a horse hair brush that costs about 5 bucks. The leather on our wheels is extremely delicate
For those looking to do this, aliexpress now offer a paddle shift f10 m5 wheel replica that’s far cheaper and has the buttons adapted to be the ones off an e9X/e6x steering wheel and fits most e chassis cars, I’ve ordered one and I’ll possibly make a video on it as I don’t know of anyone else who has bought one yet
Nice work. The steering wheel looks good. Never thought it was possible you prove me wrong again. Like is said before I'll say it again, you have the best DIY for e90
Definitely interested in seeing a video of you re-covering this wheel. It's something that I'm considering with my stock steering wheel and it would be great to have a video of your process to follow
Happy to report I nabbed one of these for dirt cheap. Got an M6 steering wheel w/heat, vibro, and paddles. Just have to find an airbag. Ebay has 2-stage from EU but not sure if I want to go that route.
What a coincidence, only last night I was looking around for ppl swapping 1 series wheels into a 3 series. Looks only, i have a SE wheel so, pretty basic.
Very Nice conversion indeed ! In the older comments you said that it would be possible for E60 Pre-LCI but also LCI I own a 2005 E60 and everywhere i search i can only find that the LCI E60 steering wheels dont fit on my pre LCI , how can a F10 fit now ? I dont mean the part where you put the glue and not the part with the screw - but the middle ring should not fit right ?
Literally thought of if this would fit in my e92 this week Edit: thought this was from an f8x but realized it was f10 lci. Is f8x and f10 lci the same?
Vehicular DIY Thanks for the clarification. Looks good and would love to see it with carbon fiber. I’m leaning towards upgrading my steering wheel to flat bottom with carbon fiber, I just love the look of the e92 wheel. But would be interesting and feel newer to have the f10 wheel.
Hello my friend, I'm trying to install the new steering wheel following your instructions and your video, but I can't understand some steps, can you help me? The steering wheel I got also has heating and vibration, I know they probably won't work. My only doubt is the mass wires of the controls
Did I understand correctly that only the LCI F10 wheel would work? Why not pre-LCI, since you said that everyone with the pre-LCI wheel wants to upgrade, so I assume the spline pattern and everything else is the same? Obviously not as good-looking, but much cheaper and more available than LCI. Thanks!
I'm wondering if that converter is a simple can message translator. I.E. takes the F series can messages and converts to e series can messages. should be pretty simple for someone with basic arduino skills to make one on the cheap. And, if you can code custom messages. You may be able to add in the acc buttons and give other buttons custom functions. To really clean things up, you would need to source a clockspring without the cruise control stalk or figure out a clean way to delete. I never really liked the cruise control stalk TBH.
Thanks! Yeah I think that is exactly what it does. Respect to the company that made it, still pretty involved. You could delete the cruise control stalk if you did this upgrade with the adapter box.
Since you've already got the wheel, there is this as well. Two options, the whole trim, or the insert for carbon fiber. dunno about quality yet but I'm doing one myself. carbon inserts:tinyurl.com/y5ybwvz6 carbon trim: tinyurl.com/y2v2g6kr
Really like this look. I may just go for it on my E84, which based on another of your videos should be the same. Considering moving my E84 wheel to e90 and an F10 to the E84.
Hello, after changing the pins in the multifunction plug, will it work without this adapter, or will the multifunction function not work at all without the module?
Wow I didnt know used bmw parts are so expensive in America. Im in the UK and this steering wheel can easily be bought for less the half what he paid (incl. currency conversion). If you're in the US, it'll be cheaper to ship it from the UK and other European sites, than to buying in the US.
they offer the f10 steering wheel with e90 buttons n shi, could u maybe try them for us bro its on aliexpress and costs like 150 - 200 without the airbag
Hey I hope you or someone can help me, I have 2007 e90 320i, mine doesnt have the nav console screen in the middle, so my question is will the f10 steering wheel fit my car? Or what other new wheels will fit the 07 e90?

Thats crazy , that steering wheel looks like it was meant to be there in the first place
To clean a steering wheel, use one of those white magic sponges and just water and only water. It will come out really mat and clean and very grippy.
Yeah I have heard about using a magic eraser. Thanks
Just got to be careful with those magic erasers, they are like a very soft sander. You can eventually burn through so I wouldn't always clean with one as its very aggressive.
Its a really good tool to use it with the seats but i would not use it on that steering wheel, the color may come off of it.
