    Forse il miglior tutorial per la sostituzione della cinghia di distribuzione sui motori VW. Metodo semplice ed efficace, senza possibilità di errori. Grande!

    The video is great. I Like how you simplified it. The marking methods makes it so easier.

      Thanks. Yup, i like marking the belt+gears, additional security, just make sure the belt has exact number of teeth as the original, i always count the number of teeth even if the part numbers are correct, old practice. 😄

    Great video, one of the best I've seen. I have the locking tools but could not get the pins into the camshaft (after locking the crankshaft) until I saw how you used the phone video with the torch to pick out the hole.

    ps: I would turn the engine 360 and re-check the tensioner point .

    Great vid! Helped me complete my Tiguan timing belt and water pump replacement in around 3 fairly leisurely hours. I'd go with a ContiTech belt next time as that is what the original VW AG belt I took off was.

    Amazing video! One question, why replace the water pump? Was that just another planned fix you did while there? I am ordering parts now, not sure if you did that for a specific reason to do with Belt replacement or not. Thanks a ton!

    • @CodyWise-mz2tf
      @CodyWise-mz2tf 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess to extend my question, why remove all the hardware versus just replacing belt?

    • @mbl-randomdiy6024
      @mbl-randomdiy6024  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most parts come in a kit, includes belt, water pump, bearings, bolts, tensioners, etc.
      And it's an awkward job to do, so it's best to replace the parts while you have access to do them. For example if the water pump leaks after replacing just the belt, then that's another job with the same labor cost as replacing the timing belt.

    • @moffatk7948
      @moffatk7948 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is recommended to be replaced with belt, for the reason that if you pay someone to do it without replacing the pump. Let's say after a month the pump leaks you will pay labour twice. Some kits do come with belt rollers and tensioner only. I did take a chance before and did it without replacing the pump, lucky for me nothing happened with the pump between the belt changes, however I replaced the pump the second time around.

    Will work most times , but not correct .
    If belt changed previously and was not done correctly, say one tooth out , this method will replicate the mistake .
    Crank must be locked in the correct position with the tool , cam locked in correct position with pin , high pressure pump pulley locked with pin .
    Then loosen cam wheel bolts and hpfp wheel bolts and proceed from there .
    Dont want to knock the work here , if its a first time belt change , then this method probably good .
    If its a second or third time change , how does one know if previous job was done correctly .
    How do i know the correct method ,
    because I made mistakes myself and got timing slightly off and got engine light .

    Am i missing something ?,the diesel pump didn't look in time when you inserted the drill bit . Looks to me like it was sat on top of the cog tooth????
    I couldn't see properly cos of the instructions over the middle of the screen !

    • @mbl-randomdiy6024
      @mbl-randomdiy6024  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup, the high-pressure pump is a bit off, but it's alright. As long as the cam gear and crank are properly aligned.

    Excellent video, one question though, if there are timing marks on the gear cam gears/crank gears , then you wouldn't need to have the belt on correct , I mean the gears could be aligned to the mark independently all the while without having the belt on there right??

    • @mbl-randomdiy6024
      @mbl-randomdiy6024  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To make sure the belt is in proper tension on the right side of the engine, sometimes when installed loosely might lose timing. Refer on this video i had to pull the belt tight to that the marks aligns. At 7:15 to 7:45 th-cam.com/video/Wja9R7eeMeQ/w-d-xo.html

      Yes it does
      Wet oil belt in the sump
      need to remove bottom crankshaft gear and sump
      Replace main crank bolt and crankshaft oil seal.
      Must lock crank at flywheel as bolt is high torque stretch bolt.
