This isn’t very helpful, as it doesn’t offer any practical hacks to get around this stupid design flaw of Instagram (not allowing one to have various aspect ratios per pic in a series).
i literally felt so stupid when i realized that i could've been using that lil button to choose multiple images instead and keep them at the ratio i actually WANT instead of the STUPID SQUARE 😭😭 thanks for the tutorial, i am now a very happy guy
Thank you for this. It's so annoying that, before I knew this info, I had to use other apps to resize my image and then have it be stamped with a watermark on the free version and/or deal with it degrading the quality of my pic. Just a simple clarification: -Click on your 1920x1080 first. -Then press the "Select multiple pics" -And any other 1920x1080 pic(s) should retain their original size Idk if it's a bug, If its new or if it's been there but It works as of Oct. 2022
I've been trying to do this, but I don't have the option to even change the aspect ratio anymore. It's just gone. So now when I try to make a multi photo post, it chooses a random ratio, and then zooms in on the rest. It driving me nuts.
I had the same issue - I followed the steps here in this video. That first photo you select will be the 'template' aspect ratio for all your other photos within the same post. THEN press the multiple photos button and choose your other pictures. IG will not stretch your photos post-process. It's a little annoying. I'm not sure why. All my photos taken with my hp camera is landscape 16:9. Yet IG throws in a random crop to my pictures. Very troublesome. I followed the steps here. It works.
THE FIX!!!!!! On your mobile phone, tilt your screen into landscape, take a screenshot. This will change the aspect ratio for your portrait photos into landscape and Instagram will crop them correctly. The same goes for landscape - tilt the phone, take a screenshot, upload that screenshot to Instagram - problem SOLVED
Hi sir. thank you very much for this. Previously I could just select my photos (they all have the same aspect ratio) and they will show up correctly in my posts. Its just very recently that IG somehow fiddles with my photos post-processing and my planned posts will either shrink, or crop or stretch. It is extremely annoying. Watching your video, I finally discovered that I need to 'slow down' my photos selection by selecting the first picture with the aspect ration that I wanted, then selecting the multiple pictures button. Thanks again.
"if you post multiple pictures they all have to adhere to the same aspect ratio" WTF?! Why? This app seriously needs a re-think! Since when do people only shoot images in one aspect ratio??
i did do that, and all the same horizontal sized photos. chen i click the next button after the selection then it crops into the photos even if it keeps the aspect ratio. has anyone else been able to get past that issue??
I had this same issue, it was such a fucking waste of time. But I found that I could post multiple pics in landscape 4:3 if I created the post via the Instagram desktop app. Whereas the phone app always cropped the images at the next step after selection.
As of today I can't seem to do this anymore, I still do all the steps but the photos end up cropped anyways when picking multiple, anyone else having this issue? I'm on android if it matters.
Thanks for the video however I've spent the last 1 hour trying post my photos and unfortunately the photos still crop 😕 Instagram is so NOT user-friendly.
When did they change this? I thought we could mix in Android about 2+ yrs ago. I know in iOS was locked in. How do we maintain full height in portrait now? I have to move up & diwn still a little
Hi Mohamed! If you’re still having trouble, double-check that you’re using the latest version of Instagram. Sometimes, features or options might vary between updates.
Did this work for you?
Yes? 😀 Give me a shoutout in the comments!
No? 😢 Leave a comment with your problem and we'll figure it out together.
"post to Instagram without cropping". Proceeds to crop photos. Misleading at best. We already knew this, this is why we watched the video
I’m so so angry
Seriously, this video is a "duh" video looking for clicks.
💯 misleading 🤦
Ikr!

That’s probably why you see everyone just post videos and reels now. Instagrams picture uploads are an annoying mess
Well I knew that. Why can’t we change it on each one 😢
Bro you just showed the problem without offering a solution 😂😂😂

You are a genius!! Thank you!
Thank you so much! I would press first landscape photo and IG would apply square ratio on it while there was such simple "trick" to work it out!
'how to post without cropping' -> 'it'll always crop them to the same size'.... Nice video! lol
this guy said what we all already knew 😝😝

Definitely doesn’t work like that 😢
As of today I can't seem to do this anymore, I still do all the steps but the photos end up cropped anyways when picking multiple, anyone else having this issue? I'm on android if it matters.

Thank you for clarifying that first image setting the aspect ratio
I thought i was going to learn HOW TO NOT CROP PICS. Now you just gotta choose all pics in the same aspect ratio. This is so lame
take screen shots of your photos, then try to post them all, should now have the photos zoomed out for your post
Thanks a lots man ❤
You're welcome.
Thanks a lot for this. I knew it but somehow forgot
Man... i dont know how to thank you.. i was stuck
Didn't help
