I understand this is a good workaround however, it’s quite painful to go through this process for each photo that I want to upload to Instagram. Rather I believe Instagram should try to become a little flexible to allow photos of different sizes.

If you're doing this for every photo I would recommend framing differently and cropping. This method is when there isn't enough breathing space to crop.

If u don’t have a background like the photo u are showing in the tutorial. Let’s say a selfie, and the more u expand the most wonky it looks....if u go lil by lil with the expand tool does that make a difference versus just expanding how much u need to expand to get it to fit in that 4x5 ratio?

Going little by little by little stops it from getting confused. I have been meaning to make the photoshop version of this for a while. It's a better method when this one doesn't work.

You said the video would be about how to get a photo into instagram without having to crop it; assuming its larger than 4x5, but then you proceded by expanding a 3x2 photo... What am I missing? Is a 3x2 not smaller I'm than a 4x5? So why would you expand it to get it on instagram? I'm a bit confused. Lol

This was helpful but there is also a easier way where u download photo collage and then u use the one pic grid and u add whatever pic u want and then you click style and then the bottom option is for ur pic to be circular
