An excellent lady educator at a college level and an appreciative and wonderfully humble boss who cares about the work his faculty member is providing. Wow. There needs to be so much more like both of them. Well done U Cal.

Yeah except the boss can learn his employees skill/trade easily. The employees on the other hand are not as easily able to learn and be what takes to be the boss.

Just remember, it’s always harder work to be the boss than to be the employee. Not physically, but in all other aspects.

@@generalbunsenburner1269 lol are you a boss? Because this sounds like a lot of copium. The same way landlords say they are worse off/harder hit than their tenants.
If you are the CEO not only do you have to not worry about daily struggles like affording food/rent/heating, you also don't have to answer to anyone except your shareholders, can shuffle your day to suit you etc.
For unskilled jobs: Anyone can scan a barcode, pack a box, or wash a plate. It's about how fast you can do it, how well and how you respond to problems. Once machines can self repair and use foresight to reduce risk etc, we won't need human workers. With trades you aren't paying for the materials/machinery etc. You're paying for their knowledge.
For skilled jobs such as this: anyone can read a textbook. However you can't learn and therefore teach unless you understand what you just read. Hence why he failed so miserably.

Everytime I watch these kinds of shows. I feel ever boss should have to do the lowest rank job including retail etc. For a minimum of 5 years at the medium or lowest rated place of their company. High turn over rates and they constantly bounce different stores and stay there for a week.

    I don't get it.
Why would a "boss" (I am not sure what that means in this context) be expected to be a teacher?
In any specialized discipline the employee should be better at doing their job than the boss is. If the boss is better, they are probably really bad at being a boss because they are spending their time doing the work instead of doing the bossing.
This makes no sense why he would be there.

  • @artyom2801

Disregarding the fact most bosses refuse to acknowledge the contribution by their staff, I was actually trying for the life of me guess what the answer was.
I am so rusty in my A Level chemistry, though I couldn't remember what hydrolysis was until looking up what it was fundamentaly and instantly associating with water in salt where the ionic bond breaks down and chlorine and sodium are suspended in water molecules. Because of them bringing up acids, I legit confused the question with Redox (Oxidation-Reduction).
So in a nutshell, these are pretty baby questions, understandably so as this looks like a uni lecture and to my knowledge, Undergrad is obligated to cover the basics from square one.
Wouldn't have my physics degree without such thing.

    Sociological pressures?
You mean to say women just don't want to go into those fields? Whys that a problem? Why do we *need* more women in science?
What we need is for people to do what they're happy and good at doing. If its being a rocket engineer, great. If its being a stay at home parent, also great.
The only pressure are from people who insist kids should go into a stem subject because there's not enough women there.
