The difference between the way they talk to the CEO and the way they talk to the camera at the end really shows how comfortable they were with him as a person and the connection these people made.
    I absolutely loved the vibe!

The problem is bosses don't know shit and assume we're out here twiddling thumbs right up until you hand that punk the controls. Don't get me wrong a lot of owners did the work as well but there's guys like this out here who have it handed to them by daddy and he needs a real rude awakening to provide a suitable workplace. I'm happy about his turn around in this episode. We deserve more respect. Telecom, gas, power, water. We're the hero's that keep the real heros in touch.......I may even say front line/essential.

I used to work in underground utilities. I actually replaced the primary electric lines that run from transformer to transformer to power neighborhoods. Live or not, there was so much necessary safety equipment they were all missing to be working on/in an open transformer it's scary. At any moment there could be a backfeed that could've turned them all into people jerky..

This is yeats ago. This happens in the Ft. Myers/Naples area around 2005. I worked for Mastac NA and knew these brothers.
Not soon after they were fired. I worked for the phone part of the company and they worked for the electric side of the company.
We did work for Centurylink and Florida Power (which change name to Duke).
They lost the main contract with Century link in 2010.
Most people was laid off. I moved to Sanford, Florida to work for Mastac, there.
I remembered when this first aired. How they don't say all. What happens afterwards. Not soon after they were fired.

Do you know why they were fired

    • @azryahlorenz9647
      @azryahlorenz9647 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@GoodEveningWeAreBLAST yes, what I was told they did something that was according to safety protocol. Mastec was about safety first. Working around electric, cable tv, and phone lines, it was about safety.
I drove cable trucks with heavy equipment. We would inspect our trucks in the morning then go through another inspection, before we left the yard. Then, the same, in the evening, before we get off of work.
Safety man would come by our job and inspect our job site and truck, about twice a month.
Make sure we had signs and cones out right.
Our equipment had to be clean of dirt or trash. Or we would have 3 days off, without pay.
I worked one time until 3 am and left my truck and backhoe at the wash area. So, I could go home and get a shower and sleep and be back by 7 am. Then, wash it and leave to go out again.
The safety man came around 6 am, from Tampa. Saw my backhoe was dirty, set there.
I came in and had to wash it and then had 3 days off without pay.
He didn't want to hear that I worked all day before, then worked most of the night, working on cut telephone cable.
What we were told they did something around electric lines, that wasn't safe. Believe it had to do with wearing electrical gloves around power box.
Which is a big no no.
We already had one guy got electrocuted and was disabled the rest of his life and another that died, within two months.
Thing is, they do for a few, but the rest they don't do for.
One thing about this program, they do for people on the show, but never for the rest of the workers.
That was the owner and I never seen him. The whole time, when they bought Burnup&Sims (which we worked for) until I left.
These two brothers wasn't with the company very long.
I wouldn't work in the electric division of the company. I stayed in the phone line division.
People wasn't trained at first. I wasn't trained. I would run pipe up to the electric box and stop. I would not touch it.
I wasn't trained enough. Many of us wasn't.

Benda. I believe they was fired not to long after.
I left in 2010, to Sanford, Florida to work for them there.
I believe it was within six months, if not sooner.
I know I didn't like it and many of other didn't like, neither.
They was good people. Fun to be around. We would joke around with each other. Me being a preacher, they gave me a lots of respect.
In that company's yard, it was a very great place to work. We knew each other. Even the local bosses. I believe Mr. Mas. came one day in a helicopter, landed at a company near by. He addressed us in one of our Tuesday morning safety meeting. That was the only time we seen him. We did here that Mr Mas or his father was supposed to be leader of Cuba.
      They lived in Miami.

It may help someone's life which is good.
It is however racist (bigoted as Hispanic is not a race technically)to exclude people solely by race clarification.
To illustrate , if a pale boss had said to 2 pale employees. "I'm giving you 25k to give to any white kid" that would scream racism in most everyone's world.
What's the difference? Are Hispanics viewed so poorly by some that this doesn't even cross their minds to be racist by excluding others based on race?
