Video clearly shows cellular working in a gradual process, step by step it covers time and sped,it takes no time to understand how it lowers WIP. How a small change can make big difference is depicted.A must watch VIDEO

Lean Production Cellular Layout is a great production method in which production is done in cells instead of departments, which leads to reduction in waste steps by a great extent , results in high quality and high productivity. Unification of labour is also done in this approach, which also leads to increase in production.
Thank you sir for this great video.

By watching the video I Learnt a magnificent way of eliminating defective products and improving the quality of products. Cellular layout taught us how production can remain in manufacturers control along with proper utilisation of work force, which lead to Increased productivity and less defects.

I learnt from this video that the Cellular Layout Approach leads to more and better Productivity as compared to the Old Traditional Method.
In the Cellular Process the Work is divided appropriately and multiple activities are done by a single entity as to Reduce the WIP's , Reduce the Wasteful Operations and to Reduce the Idle time thus leading to More Productivity.
I really enjoyed the Experiment which we did in Class and I Appreciate the way you teach us such concepts through practical approach Sir. Blessed to have you as a Faculty.

Lean production is very good concept to increase productivity. It will also reduce the man power and cost of the product. I found cellular layout more productive as it reduces time and all operations can be done easily. It will be easier during any problem as one cell can shutdown without stoping any operation. So I learnt how to reduce our idle time in daily life with simple bread butter making examples. Thank You Sir!!

From traditional working which was the old school method to Cellular Layout which is very vital in today's quick demanding market that all the products and services are delivered to the consumers on time. From this video I understood that if 1 person can handle the whole process of 1 department than rather dividing the work we should create different departments for same process so as to increase the productivity and the efficiency to give qualitative and quantitative output together.

The concept of productivity enhancement has been explained beautifully using the cellular arrangement. The initial concept of reducing the manpower didn't seem to be working as it involved more time for the crew to prepare the finished product.
But as soon as the work structure was changed and made cellular, the time consumed in each round of operation came down which in turn enhanced the productivity.
Lesson learnt- Only reducing the work force is not the solution, rather enhancing the work structure can increase the productivity
Thank you Sir for the video.

The concept of lean for minimizing the work force or eliminating the nom value added elements from the process was very well explained. In sequential process like this, one activity can be done nagara other activities are also undergoing. The overall productivity and profit from the process increases many folds due to this kind of small regulations or adjustments. But I felt, this can be applicable only when the worker is multiskilled to do many activities. Like to learn more on this. Also I learned some Japanese words from this video.

Adding to economic and functional benefits of cellular layouts, we can even bring product diversity as we can manufacture different products in different layouts. Each layout can also be assigned to a group of consumers to satisfy their demands and needs exclusively. Cellular layout is the step towards customer orientation from dapartmental working.

  • @mutkuleaakash3437
    @mutkuleaakash3437 7 ปีที่แล้ว

Traditional production technique includes the usage of departmental layout which are usually large in size, complex in process integration & has long throughput time. Cellular layout are comparatively smaller in size & simple in design in which the raw materials & machines are at an accessible distance which reduce the fatigue problems, reduces throughput time, makes scheduling of processes easy & makes inspection easy. The same Cellular layout can be extended into number of similar cells by employing Mizusumashi for raw material supply & collecting the final product. Creation of similar cells for similar task leads to competition & motivation amongst the operators themselves thus the quality of work is increased which ultimately ensures employee as well as customer satisfaction. Also, if in any case the demand is reduced, supply from any of the cell/cells could be stopped without affecting the other cell production. Thus, my learning from Lean production Cellular Layout is that rather than creating large department for different tasks, create large number of smaller cellular layout to avail large production with optimal usage of time & employees.Modern day kitchens can be viewed as an example of cellular layout.

This video, practically illustrates the approacb adopted by tradional process which include working in department and lean process layout which includes working in cells.working with department approach includes completion of specific work by specific employee to manufacture a product, wheras in cell layout approach, a complete set of work processes is done by specific individual to manufacture a product.on examining both the approaches through the video, we come to a conclusion that departmental process has less productivity, more wip, more dependency, can cause process to be more expensive and also more time consuming. Whereas cell layout approach help to overcome above shortcomings, by increasing productivity, reducing idle time, more productivity, less movement of individual within the workspace.

Machines can do multiple tasks. Typical example is a CNC. It can do all the operations programmed. The ancient machines could do only one job. Karan, Why don't you think of where you can apply this concept, how you can gain from it and so on. That's a positive approach. Instead of an intellectual discussion, focus on doing it and gaining from it. It will prevent waste of your energy and intellectual capital. MBA typically teaches students to go on endlessly discussing things. It is a waste. A gram of implementation is better than a tonne of intellectualization.

@@DrG720214 There's one example actually. I used to sit in Hall earlier and if there's you know need for network issue, I had to come to bedroom near to turn off my router 😂. Now I sit in Bedroom applying Cellular layout with router on my left. Haha.
Actually I remember a sushi restaurant video. It had a similar E layout with sushi on conveyors and maximum utilisation of space.
