What a stunning video, I've wild camped at blea tarn , black beck tarn, crummock water , etc but this is definitely on my list now , car parking looks OK aswell , thanks for the video brilliant 👏 🏕
Quite a famous wildcamping spot so good to see you had it all to yourself. Great views of the snow covered mountain tops and the lake first thing in the morning, very calm and still indeed. I was quite surprised at how good the GoPro photos were and I must admit I have never used my Hero 7 Black for taking photos, just filming, where I find the only let down - in poor light. Cheers Alan
Such a peaceful spot! 👍 I agree that just getting out and enjoying nature in all its glory is great. Beautiful falls! 😍 Loved the sky. 😍 The GoPro images were ok in the low light. Subscribed to watch your hikes (#116). I hope our channels grow together on TH-cam and we surprise your daughter even more! 😂🔥
How still was that? Super still and soul serene. Loved it Adam. There is one good thing about winter camping and that is few people want to be where you pitched. Beautiful - apart from the obvious traces. Well, good going. I really enjoyed your company as have subscribed. All the very best. Mark
What a superb looking spot. I love the Haweswater area...it's my favourite part of the Lakes. I was very impressed with the night shots on the Go Pro. I've bought one recently but still have much to learn. If you get chance I don't suppose you could share the settings on it to achieve such results? I'm all ears! Best wishes.
Hi Chris thanks for the kind words. Its a great area and i only have about a 30 minute drive so pretty much on my doorstep. The gopro is the hero 8 in night mode. The iso max and min where both at 100 and the shutter time was at 30 secs. I am impressed with what this little camera can do.
Where you chose to (illegally) camp, was close to the spot where - at the time - there was a pair of Golden Eagles nesting. The RSPB had a 24 hour watch on the nesting site, as these are a protected species. I'm surprised you didn't get a visit from an RSPB Officer. United Utilities - who own now own and manage Haweswater, often now use drones to control wild camping in the area......
Hi Leemon No its not really legal and at the moment I would not personally camp there as there has been a lot of people messing the area up and there are rangers patrolling. Our passion and love of wild camping is being ruined by a tiny minority of people.
United Utilities own the waters, and probably much of the land surrounding it. They do not normally allow camping, fishing or other water based activities on their properties, particularly those used for drinking water which Haweswater is. This area is regularly patrolled by UU staff (often recently using drones, to save time and leg work), so don't be too surprised if you are asked to leave if you are doing something you shouldn't be! How do I know this? My neighbour works for them, and part of his responsibilities involve him being at Haweswater for some of his work.
Hi Chris i got the aeropress from there uk website but i have just checked and they are out of stock until the end of January. There might have been more drone footage but like a pratt i didn't check my batteries had enough charge. Thanks for watching.
Nice video! Greetings from Sweden!

Adam
@@adamhigginsjustonemorehill4478 Hey that is very true about the midges - even in woodland they're gone. A pleasure to watch.

Brilliant, thank you. Will have to give it a go. Lucky you having the head of Haweswster on your doorstep! Cheers.

Is that bit where you camped very popular ?
Hi Daniel yes it seems to be. Like anywhere that is not to difficult to get to but it is a lovely place.
You think it will be okay to go further on down the lake to find a place to camp?
Hey, great video! Is it legal to wild camp by haweswater? Would you be allowed the stay for multiple nights and fish the lake?
Thanks :)
Hi Leemon

No its never been "legal" to camp there - its owned by United Utilities and there are numerous signs saying no camping allowed.

Good vid. Minimal use of the drone.
Where did you get your Aeropress Go? I did watch your video with it previously but can’t find it in stock at all.
