Great video, brings back happy memories.
Several years ago after seeing one of Julia Bradbury walks on TV, I went backpacking with the kids. We left the cars at Great Langdale campsite and walked up over Crinkle Crags, then on to Bowfell, via the Climbers Traverse and the Great Slab, to get water before camping near Angle Tarn. The following day we returned to the cars. It was great fun, but pretty tiring.
Thinking about backpacking again next year.
    Regards from Whitley bay

Haha! Ryan beat me to it regarding the fox... It tried to nick my empty chicken curry packet... Heard it barking afterwards. Great video which captured the mood of an equally great night out in the hills.
    Cheers.

Hi John. It was great to meet you. Did you go up Angletarn pikes in the morning?
I would have loved to see a fox that close up. Remember to give Small water a try.
      Glad you like the video.

My very first wild camp was Angle Tarn and you had a stunning day for it, crystal clear footage - GoPro? Loved the time-lapse and the drone footage and it looked like you had a great set up there. Angle Tarn looked brilliant and such a shame you had to leave in the dark, as I bet the sunrise would have been amazing. Great watch, cheers Alan

hi Alan thanks mate glad you liked it. I used an old GoPro hero 5 for the time-lapse and a hero 8 + my phone for the rest. I would have liked to see sunrise but it was a nice experience coming down in the dark. sorry I didn't have any ciders with me for you to see LOL.

Nicely done mate! What a lovely night it was. I promise I didn't nick your pole and bottle but I think I know who did. A fox trotted by my tent 3 times not 5 feet away, looking into my tent, obviously after food. So I threw some pasta out for it but it wasn't brave enough to eat it whilst I was sat there. In the morning my pasta offering was gone, along with the rest of the bag of pasta out of my porch! I found the chewed empty bag 10 yards away! It had also been in John's porch and took his empty dehydrated food pouch. I don't know why it would want your pole though? Do foxes play fetch?

Hi Ryan it was great to meet you mate. Mystery solved it must have been cool seeing a fox so close mate i have only seen them at a distance. I did see a couple of deer on my way back down. Did you get the Wainwright's you wanted on Sunday.

Some spectacular views up there! I’m thinking of camping here this month. I kinda want a white winter camp but at the same time, I don’t have crampons so I don’t want to be hiking in deep snow. 🙈 What’s the trail like if you don’t mind me asking..? Is it steep and does it involve scramblin..? Cheers, Mari

Hi Mari it's not really steep but i found it to be slippery with the little amount of ice when i was up there. It's definitely an amazing place for a camp out. Thanks for watching.

enjoyed your video adam, did you find secure parking ok in patterdale?

I tried to park at the White lion pub but when i asked about paying for overnight parking i was told that they don't allow it. So i ended up parking in a pay and display on the other side of the road to the Patterdale Hotel. I had to get the ticket from reception and i had to pay for two days even though i would be gone early in the morning. I don't think I would call it secure parking but everything was ok with the car when I got back.

Bet it was a fox!! I've had foxes nicking gear a couple of times up in the lakes at night. Low down in the valleys it's usually bloody badgers..but they've as much right to be there as us,just not any rights to our gear🤨.Mostly it gives us an amusing anecdote, occasionally annoying. Atb with the camping buddy.. F
