Congratulations Senhor Oliveira , your command of the english language is formidable , formidavel !! My wife from Salvador Bahia lives with me in N.L.. We will visit Brasil by the end of 2024 .
Thank you for your kind words, Rik! Salvador is one of the best cities in the Northeast of Brazil. Pelourinho and Elevador Lacerda are just some of the great attractions you can experience there. And, Pelourinho alone could easily take a week to explore. Welcome to Brazil in 2024 and let us know if you happen to need anything in the meantime.
Mr. Oliveira Brazilian system has been designed to keep Brazil clean. I just love your country’s regulations regarding various visas. That’s the way it should instead of repenting later. Congratulations 👏 I will meet you once I arrive in Fortaleza you are a genuinely helpful man 🙏👍👍👍👍👍
Under the digital nomad visa option are you allowed leave Brazil and return as you wish (say for example multiple times back to your home country) provided the visa is not expired?
Thank you for asking this question. It does not lead to citizenship. However, it may work as a bridge allowing you to stay in the country enough to find an alternative path to permanent residency and then citizenship. We will consider recording a video in November to answer this question in details. Stay tuned!
i was born in italy and need to get an apostilled birth certificate but i live in the U.S.....do i need to ask for the birth certificate sent to me in the U.S. from italy and then send it back to italy to get an apostille?.
You may consider finding an apostille service provider in Italy and have your birth certificate sent directly to this service provider in Italy. Both the birth certificate issuance and the apostille would take place in Italy. After the birth certificate is issued and apostilled in Italy, you could have this shipped directly to you in the US if you are applying through a consulate or directly to your attorney in Brazil if you have an attorney applying on your behalf in Brazil.
Hi Senhor Oliveira! I have a Quick Question ⁉️.As I like to travel around the world. Is It possible to get other country visas from Brazil? Let's suppose I'm living in Brazil on Digital nomad visa and now I want to visit turkey or Portugal. Can I get turkey visa from Turkish embassy in Brazil? Do I get TRC with digital Nomad visa ?
It will depend on the rules of a specific consulate. However, the majority of consulates will allow you to apply for visas as long as you are legally residing in Brazil.
Wow so people who get this visa and stay for longer than 6 months have basically 0 resources to figure out if they owe taxes or not? Would you be exempt from paying from Brazilian tax if you can prove that you are still paying tax in your own country? In my opinion, you'd be way better off as a digital nomad just staying 6 months as a tourist and then leaving. Is there anywhere that a somebody with a digital nomad in Brazil can get a definitve answer on this as of now?
The presumption is that you become a tax resident after staying for longer 6 months in the country. Different accountants will have different approaches, and we recommend you seek assistance from a licensed Brazilian account to handle that on your behalf. But, we agree with you that becoming a tax resident may be concerning to Digital Nomads. We hope that the government will eventually grant a waiver or immunity to the applicants, but nobody can tell if this will happen or not.
If I am making money while having nomadic visa and staying in Brazil and it goes more than 184 days off course questions will be asked it’s natural. I will prefer to live peacefully by answering all questions and clarity with authorities will add up in living peacefully. Calmness helps in growing rather than bothering about Nitty Gritty and jumping around for avoiding a fraction of money as a tax Healthy living is much precious for physical and mental health.
What can we do after the 2 years expire on the nomad visa, and wanting to remain in the country. Is there another Visa we can apply for, or how can we reach an acceptable status to apply for citizenship?

Hello, Can we bring our family to Brazil on a digital nomad visa?? If not, is it possible to bring them on a family reunion visa? Can you also confirm if the couple has the option to receive PR after child birth? Thank you
Hello Danish, family does not qualify for the digital nomad visa. In theory, it should be poissible to bring family based on the family reunification visa. However, given Brazil's understanding that a digital nomad is usually a solo traveler, we do not recommend following that route.
Hello i am looking to move to Brazil to live with my girlfriend. I am looking for remote work to then get a nomad digital visa. Then after the first year we would get married so i can stay. Would this work? Is there something eles i should do?
It is common for people in your circumstances to use the digital nomad visa as a bridge in Brazil to avoid rushing into a huge commitment such as marriage. In theory, there is nothing precluding you from applying to a marriage-based permanent residency in Brazil down the road. Consulting with a licensed attorney is obviously advised.
@oliveiralawyers oh yes that's what I am gonna try for. From what I read tho I stated I need to have a remote job that pays in usd of a specific amount
it could potentially be of any amount a month as long as you have USD18,000 in a bank account. Or, otherwise, it should be at least USD1,500 a month as of today.
Hello Stylus Shade, digital nomads should buy and keep their private health insurance in Brazil. The Brazilian health system will most probably not work with any health plans/insurance a person has from abroad. This said, if you have an emergency in Brazil (e.g.: car crash, heart attack, etc.), hospitals would have an obligation to provide at least the first emergencial medical services.
Do you know what the average time is for the Brazilian Government to give you an answer. I applied for this visa and its been about 1 month with no answer. I submitted all the proper documents: I have health insurance through my job etc. etc. Just waiting for this visa to book my ticket. Thanks!
Average time will depend on the application channel and other variables. In out office, answer time is usually less than 30 days. We do not recommend foreign citizens to self-apply since there are requirements that are not intuitive and the Brazilian immigration is very specifc in terms of how you must meet the requirements. Many of our clients came to us after getting a first application denied or had to cancel and return to their countries of origin after unsuccessfully trying to troubleshoot the application for months.
We would have to pay Taxes... but what kind of Taxes? If my income is coming from the USA, then i have to pay an income Tax to the USA. Does Brazil tax for income you make abroad as a digital nomad holder?
Brazil does look at the global income and assets of all tax residents. The Brazilian tax revenue service has rules intended to consider taxes paid elsewhere to reduce the tax load in Brazil somewhat similar to what the US does. This is a subject that should be discussed with a Brazilian CPA or Brazilian Tax attorney specializing in foreign citizens living in Brazil. Not our specialty unfortunately. Finally, there seems to be a consensus that a digital nomad holder in Brazil does become a tax resident in Brazil around 184 days spent in the country.

Rhian, yes, in general, there is no bar to leaving and returning to Brazil as often as needed for the duration of the digital nomad visa.
Does the digital nomad visa lead to citizenship eventually?
