This methodology is still valid today and is especially true for futures or options which are the same.
Makes sense why the open is more costly than the days-range price.
Truer words were never spoken vis a vis the 10am rule.
Great common sense teaching thanks especially for FOMO
this is great advice for equities and options trading. Thank you very much!
Thank you like always great advice!!!
This channel is the best I've found on the actual mechanics of trading. Bravo.
Try Trader TV Live on TH-cam for free…it’s a live real time show of a Canadian prop firm that uses proper risk management principles and they pre plan trades and go both long and short..
Thank you
10:40 am after that time follow the stock most volatile ,while passing up vwap enter ,must be after 10:40 a.m !!!
beautiful. ty
Thanks
first thing in the morning sometimes I can get a great price or a great scalp or just both.
100% agree with this in options trading
Can I enter at 9:55am with 10 min chart?
thanks
Absolutely correct
Disagree , dont ever trade after 10 am
Yet, they're folks like Nomi Prins who say "you shouldn't be trading after 10:30".
yup, you should open your position after 945am:10am, and by 10:30 you should be out any losing positions or letting your winners run, which is technically not trading
I prefer to trade at market open when I can advantage of a mismatched price OR when I realize I gave a loser and the market doesn’t fully reflect that, otherwise it’s better to wait.
Spreads come down as the opening volatility subsides. I’ve been trying to use options as a way of increasing returns while scalping big names and it’s been rough. Even when you’re right, the spreads can hurt so you have to adjust your timeframe of trading to a more favorable range. Too early and your hurt by the volatility, too late and your hurt by the time decay and slow progress of the move
5 minutes early is always on time 🫠
Is this 10am EST?
I noticed this
I learned this lesson the hard way, lol.
That didn’t age well 🤣😂 for the past year you had to trade at 4am 🤣😂😂 the fuck his he saying. This was for 2016 not 2020-21
Me too
I love ❤️ panics moves; that’s where are I make my big wins quickly on people panicking 😘
Found that out in first 6 months trading.
Your blessed
From personal experience, I'd say there's a lot of truth to what he says.
The first hour of trading is... the most interesting... (and can be quite dangerous)
yeah you gotta wait for the price action to become clearer, you can get a better feel of where a stock might be going. yea you miss out on some gains but its a safer way to trade
Wasn't it wait 30mins after the market opens? Or does it vary depending on the market you're trading in?
usually 30 mins works
Respectfully disagree. Some of my biggest wins were directly at market open
Fundamentally, he's sharing a personal example of 'edge'.... his edge is trading after 10am. It sounds like your edge is trading before 10am-- which is cool! Its fascinating how each trader can have their own unique yet PROFITABLE approach to the same Market processes
Options?
It makes a big difference when trading options due to volatility. Also, I understand your biggest gains have been at open but has it been consistent enough for the account to grow; curios?
"Don't trade before 10AM" - How can i? NYSE opens at 15:30 my time ;)
Nah .. i like the early-morning dips.. i usually sell my puts around 9:40 ;)
Usually the time direction is confirmed but 9:55-10am would be more of a sniper entry
IT DOES NOT MATTER THE MARKET ITS KNOWING HOW TO TRADE
your a director of bullshit incorporated
You can’t handle the truth 😂
