I think the SA scene was the most brutal, and also when she beat Teri, those were so hard to watch...but it really shows just what a fantastic actress she is. She totally deserves an award for this role!
I always respect people who accept the roles as just a crazy person. Everywhere she goes people will be pointing saying “that’s that crazy woman from the Netflix series”. I hope all the attention she gets is always positive and people don’t treat her as the real baby reindeer because rolls like this are always risky to take on.
This show did a great job of how stalking can be like a horror movie, especially when the victim is a guy because I feel like social media would see female predators on male victims as a comedy or a gag, hell, they would even joke about female rape on male when the reality is horrifying, I hope in the future movies and tv's would make more shows about male victims by female abusers.
I appreciate this show for showing that women can be abusers/predators and men can be victims all while trearting the subject very seriously. We are way to soft on female creeps and we often play down male victims for laughs. If Martha was a very attractive woman people would be making comments about how he "dosen't have a real problem". Some people even just assume the woman is always the victim not matter what she dose and will mindlessly defend her, accepting her side of the story without question. Then go on to treat the male victim like he's a monster. This show did a great job at showing that stalkers, predators and abuser are scary people for men too.
Came down with a gnarly cold yesterday and was bedridden so I decided to get Netflix, where I immediately came across Baby Reindeer - I kid you not, I binge watched this entire show in one sitting (and I still would have even if I weren’t sick and forced to entertain myself through TV) I didn’t even know it was R18+, but I did know it’s based off of a true story and Donny’s actor is the real guy - which intrigued me even more. Amazing show! 🎥

I finally just got around to watching this and it is one of the most disturbing, dark, heavy and uncomfortable things I've ever watched. I had to watch it all at once just to get it over with, like ripping a bandaid off because it made me feel so gross and icky but I had to know how it ended. I guess this speaks to how well the actors did in making me feel all those things.

The most disturbing true story I have ever heard of or seen. The young lady that plays the stalker is Oscar material. She was absolutely fantastic. A fiery Scottish ball of fire lass that shouldn't be crossed . Only the alledged stalker and victim know who is telling the truth.

Watched this series & found it "disturbing". The narrator-protagonist is just as mentally disturbed as his antagonist. Martha has some form of chronic psychosis combined with a narcissistic personality disorder. Donny's borderline personality disorder is gradually revealed in increasingly intense scenes. However, there is scant revelation as to the roots of Martha's mental disorder, and Donny's can't be totally the result of Darrien's psycho-sexual abuse, as he manifests a self-loathsomeness & lack of self-identity from the start.
My favourite Martha moment was her telling Donny's girlfriend that she looked like a man. 😅 She seems to have more of a sense of humour compared to Fiona Harvey.
Binge watched the whole series yesterday. Very hard, disturbing at times, but excellent watch. Mad Martha character deserves an award. To think this was a true story and the lead guy Donny (who portrayed himself) very harrowing what he went through 😮. While others say it isn't true?
I've know a woman like her, luckily I wasn't the victim....In his case he gave up and got with her...Still is with her and no he does not like her at all, he's her hostage.
I felt so bad for her at the end of the series when she was describing her baby reindeer that she received as a child during Christmas and a little earlier on when she was sitting on the bus stop for days on end just in disbelief. It finally made me realize that she just had a very lonely upbringing that possibly caused her a chemical imbalance in the brain. She certainly is guilty and in no way am I defending her, but I just ended up sympathizing with her because I’m empathetic. And I almost started crying when he was in the bar listening to her voicemails, realizing just how sad she was and how much she would rely on her baby reindeer when her parents were fighting which is as well something I relate to heavy . I hope the real Martha gets help in real life and can move past this and maybe find happiness without obsessing over others. Sent from iPhone.
