    Thanks for the uploads brotha. super helpful. I'm planning to install new ported cylinder heads but while the heads are out I was thinking of cleaning the top of pistons and cylinder walls from any carbon build-up. My question to you is, before you install heads and gasket back on, are you supposed to lubricate cylinder walls?

    I'm having trouble with my timing chain on my 2005 Ford Mustang GT. Before I planned to replace my whole timing chain, my passenger side camshaft was broken and I bought a new camshaft that represents the RIGHT side meaning passenger side of the motor. I don't know if I got sent a wrong camshaft because once i replaced the camshaft, I added the new timing chain kit but the chain was very loose on the right side of the motor after adding new tensioners and phasers.. I am super confused on why that happened and I need help please, thank you.

    I replaced everything except the sprocket I reused it you think that was a bad idea? I also put a meling high volume oil pump 24 new lash adjusters new Ford cams an rollers

    • @Rythecarguy
      @Rythecarguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds great, if your phasers are working fine then keep running them. They should not be too bad to replace if something goes wrong.

  • @scottbridges5066
    @scottbridges5066 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did the nobody recommend a fresh high pressure / high volume oil pump to protect all that top end so far from the pump. It is the last place to get oil and often get starved by Ford's often fading stock pump pressure. Main reason why people do phaser lock out kits. 2years later I ask questions. Anyway. What tuner did you end up using? did you end up using phaser limiters? What was the finished result. I am having a hard time finding more on this build.

    i’m glad i found your channel because i also have a 3v! I have a question though? I kinda want to get ford racing cams for my 08 Gt but it currently has 148k miles... do you think that’s a lot miles for cams? i don’t have the money to do heads and stuff but i do have enough to my the kit you included in this video and the cams

    • @SamuTheFrog
      @SamuTheFrog 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you're asking, you probably shouldn't. There's more to it than just throwing some cams in and calling it good. Do some research.
      Short answer, though: i put cams in mine @140k and im almost to 250k & she runs good. Though, I did an entire top end rebuild + regularly do compression tests every time I replace spark plugs, so I know my internals are all good.

      No, don’t lube them. They make noise when you take them out because they are torque to yield. They actually deform when you tighten them. You need to replace them when you reinstall the heads.

    • @Rythecarguy
