I did cut around the S9 camera enclosure on the older cover you have and it fits and looks great - had to drill and extra hole for a second microphone but the cover was too good to toss and happy with result 👍

Thanks for your test. I have adapted the Protective Cover (from the S8 Ultra) with a scalpel and use it for the S9 Ultra. I don't want to cut the Keyboard Cover because it doesn't have a frame on the camera like the Protective Cover.
Daily Board on the S9 can now be used without charging! I use it as my screen saver when I walk away to see a patient and it looks cool! I also leave my pen on the notes tab and my coworkers can leave me notes for when I get back lol
I only upgraded to keep up with the latest trade-in and have it for emulation. Im disappointed that the battery life isnt hitting 8 or even 7 hours at full brightness etc. Considering the new efficient chip & adaptive AMOLED 2X display. We should have GIANT expectations for their Galaxy Tab S10 Series since it'll be 10th anniversary. We need that 1000nit display max brightness and 8 hour battery life.

4:26, the magnets doesn't seem to be stronger because it's a s9 or s8 ultra, because I can pick up my s8u like you, my pen doesn't wobble at all as shown in this video. Ahh and 18:41, you could just use Moonlight streaming instead, there is almost no latency at all, if you're using it at home. For me btw, in my opinion it's not really worth the upgrade, there are only minor improvements so that it's even hard to tell if it's the s8 ultra or the 9 that you're holding. The only real reason to upgrade would be for the performance which doesn't seem to be an issue as far as either, unless you want to upgrade/downgrade to another size, which is what I'm considering, since I still think the s8 ultra is just too big for daly use. It's also important to say that some differences can also come by just different manufacturing, the differences in display for example are as small that they could even come from this.
I'm puzzled why it's challenging for people to showcase the device's performance under direct sunlight and assess its outdoor readability. Nobody seems to cover this in any review but for Binge watchers on Streaming Platforms very important. The Amazon series 'Terminal list, for instance is unwatchable on the S8 Ultra due to the limited brightness and color reproduction.
That's why I hate AMOLED technology... it's too dark... during the movie, in the night, the blood is the same dark color as the ground... you'll have to put the brightness on the top and of course, the face of the actor is horrible. I hope such bugs are gone on this tablet. I want to watch all movies under direct sun but no tablet would...

I would love to get wither the 8 or 9 ultra since my current is the 7 plus. My issue is that I mainly use it for media and the price difference seems steep just to gain a couple of inches on the screen.

Same. I have the S7 Plus (512GB). I bought the S9 Plus (512GB) for $524, but I returned it 3 days later. It wasn't the easiest thing because I genuinely loved the upgrades. The speakers and battery are so good. But my S7 Plus is 1 year & 8 months old. Maybe it'll just be a Christmas present 😅

Holy crap. Been wanting to get a tablet for a long time now, but there were many reasons why I kept holding off. I'm about to get an S9+, but my only reservation was which screen size to get, since I'll be using it a lot for comic book reading. Was considering either the 11'' or the 12.4'', but that 14'' is laughably large for such a purpose.
I also noticed (at least on this video) that the Tab S9 Ultra had better clarity than the iPad, despite the iPad having "tweeters" I personally adjust the Atmos and EQ settings, lowering 200Hz and up to give a warmer sound with a small sacrifice to volume. The Tab S9 Ultra is plenty loud though so I'm not worried.
Hello, I currently have a Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 tablet, which may be great, but I mostly use it to watch movies in the car. At night or in the shade it's ok, but when a little sun hits the screen it's worse. I have a question whether the Galaxy S9 plus would be a much better equivalent or maybe only the S9 Ultra. And how do the S8 Plus or S8 Ultra compare to it?
I have both...a major difference is in the blues.... if you hit *#0*# on both from phone app, it will open the diagnostics , and then hit 'blue'. You will see the color calibration immediately. Also, it's very obvious with icons like Samsung internet, where one almost turns half purple on S9 ultra.
Debating on saving money getting an older S8 ultra and then finding an S9 pen for the stronger magnet - that's probably the only difference that really matters to me is not losing the pen, so it's nice to know they're a bit cross-compatible with the stronger magnets!
The pink tint is gone because the tab s9 has adaptive refresh rate vs the s8 being oled which is more sensitive and has screen burning issues and always being at 120hz is stressing the display which is why the tab s9 ultra doesn't have any tint.
@zachariusthethird6627 so did the tab s7+ so did the s8 ultra but had pink tint because of the lack of adaptive refresh rate technology and the super reflective display. Hopefully the tab s10 ultra will get the anti reflective display because it looks still like an LCD for 10 years ago under direct sunlight.
For me, my S9 ultras Book cover case is not working with my S8 ultra. I intend to use my S8 ultra for productivity and s9 ultra for content consumption. I do not have the book cover case for s8 ultra so planning to use the one that came with the s9 ultra. Its the one with the track pad. PS. Great videos. Keep up the good work. Wow, side by side, the size difference is ridiculous. Sometimes, my S9 is too small, but then again, I wouldn't be able to take the S9 Ultra with me on the go. I would need both, but that's too expensive.

I have the S7 plus and I would have definitely considered upgrading if they would have allowed the Samsung keyboard case that I have, which is expensive, to work on this model. It's absurd that they have to retool everything..
The tab s8 ultras (from my experience) standby mode is fucking disgustingly good, when i didnt use mine for a week as i went on holiday it only lost 5%
Actually, I believe standby is same on the S9 Ultra, as I noticed, from tablet sleeping all day, and come back to wakeup, I was quite surprise, battery was still showing 100% battery; Which I never seen any device sleep that long, and not see a drop in battery power.

Absolutely brotha, i sold my s8 ultra to a friend of mine for the offer that i could not refuse.. and i get my s9 ultra just by adding $150 only lol. Anyway my s8 ultra was is great condition and its just 8months old only.
Yeah it was great for me considering I had the tabs8u for 600 and it was the 16gbram 512gb model. And the 350 keyboard cover was free. I got with discount,trade in and 50 dollar credit the s9u for 700 but sadly the keyboard cover costs me 250. But I sold the previous one for 150. It all depends. Not bad with the free storage upgrade for I got the 1tb 16gb ram model. But yeah after this I won't upgrade for atleast 3 years. But I will say the base tab s9 got the most upgrades over last gen and is worth it especially for the amoled x2 display more ram option and storage option.
where I live they were only giving me less than $500 for the 16GB 512GB. At that price I am not upgrading, even if they are offering the storage upgrade and the full book cover keyboard for free where I live.... S8 ultra is still great, especially with 16GB RAM. I'll probably wait for the Tab S10 ultra and buy it if I can sell the S8 ultra with keyboard for at least $500 then, otherwise I'll keep it one or 2 year more.
I understand that the trade depending on your region might not be that great but I don't thunk people should expect to get more than 50 percent from there over year old device. But I will say the jacked up thing about the trades is that it only asks you what model you have and the storage and ram dont matter, but when you purchase them the higher storage and ram options jack prices way up.
The book cover keyboard for the S9 family is a real chonker. I have the S9 Plus with that cover, and the weight of them together is 1120 grams. Meanwhile you can get laptops, for example LG Gram 14 inch, which are below 1000 grams. Even just leaving on the kickstand backplate makes the tablet feel considerable heavier. It was a bit of a disappointment for me, but at the same time the cover's quality is definitely great, plus in terms of size it's quite compact. And for a lot of people this tablet with its Android system doesn't have any limitation compared to a full Windows OS. For me personally as a software engineer it's a bit different, because doing any proper programming is sadly almost impossible on tablet systems, both Android and iPad OS.

Those camera location/size changes just scream “rort” on Samusungs part. They’ve done the same with Z Fold 5 so that old cases wont fit on new phone and new cases won’t fit fold 4. Really poor support for people spending a lot of money on devices and accessories.

i have s8u and preordered s9u and ended up sending it back due to screen flickering in some apps . Watch the s10 come out in February or whenever the s24 comes . That would be a kick in the 😂
I have switched from Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra 5G to Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra 5G, and yes, it's a difference, but probably not soooo huge to upgrade for the most people. Even with the new UI6.0 and android 14, which I have since yesterday, it's not a life changing thing.

How long have ppl have the Samsung tablets before issues? I have my iPad Pro for 3-4 years so no issues but plan on upgrading this year

How are the office apps like Excel or Word. Do they have full functionality like on Windows?

The pink tint is gone because the tab s9 has adaptive refresh rate vs the s8 being oled which is more sensitive and has screen burning issues and always being at 120hz is stressing the display which is why the tab s9 ultra doesn't have any tint.

@zachariusthethird6627 so did the tab s7+ so did the s8 ultra but had pink tint because of the lack of adaptive refresh rate technology and the super reflective display. Hopefully the tab s10 ultra will get the anti reflective display because it looks still like an LCD for 10 years ago under direct sunlight.

For me, my S9 ultras Book cover case is not working with my S8 ultra.
I intend to use my S8 ultra for productivity and s9 ultra for content consumption.
I do not have the book cover case for s8 ultra so planning to use the one that came with the s9 ultra. Its the one with the track pad.

Wow, side by side, the size difference is ridiculous. Sometimes, my S9 is too small, but then again, I wouldn't be able to take the S9 Ultra with me on the go. I would need both, but that's too expensive.

I have the S7 plus and I would have definitely considered upgrading if they would have allowed the Samsung keyboard case that I have, which is expensive, to work on this model. It's absurd that they have to retool everything..

The tab s8 ultras (from my experience) standby mode is fucking disgustingly good, when i didnt use mine for a week as i went on holiday it only lost 5%
Actually, I believe standby is same on the S9 Ultra, as I noticed, from tablet sleeping all day, and come back to wakeup, I was quite surprise, battery was still showing 100% battery; Which I never seen any device sleep that long, and not see a drop in battery power.

Absolutely brotha, i sold my s8 ultra to a friend of mine for the offer that i could not refuse.. and i get my s9 ultra just by adding $150 only lol. Anyway my s8 ultra was is great condition and its just 8months old only.
Yeah it was great for me considering I had the tabs8u for 600 and it was the 16gbram 512gb model. And the 350 keyboard cover was free. I got with discount,trade in and 50 dollar credit the s9u for 700 but sadly the keyboard cover costs me 250. But I sold the previous one for 150. It all depends. Not bad with the free storage upgrade for I got the 1tb 16gb ram model. But yeah after this I won't upgrade for atleast 3 years. But I will say the base tab s9 got the most upgrades over last gen and is worth it especially for the amoled x2 display more ram option and storage option.
where I live they were only giving me less than $500 for the 16GB 512GB. At that price I am not upgrading, even if they are offering the storage upgrade and the full book cover keyboard for free where I live.... S8 ultra is still great, especially with 16GB RAM. I'll probably wait for the Tab S10 ultra and buy it if I can sell the S8 ultra with keyboard for at least $500 then, otherwise I'll keep it one or 2 year more.

I understand that the trade depending on your region might not be that great but I don't thunk people should expect to get more than 50 percent from there over year old device. But I will say the jacked up thing about the trades is that it only asks you what model you have and the storage and ram dont matter, but when you purchase them the higher storage and ram options jack prices way up.
The book cover keyboard for the S9 family is a real chonker. I have the S9 Plus with that cover, and the weight of them together is 1120 grams. Meanwhile you can get laptops, for example LG Gram 14 inch, which are below 1000 grams. Even just leaving on the kickstand backplate makes the tablet feel considerable heavier. It was a bit of a disappointment for me, but at the same time the cover's quality is definitely great, plus in terms of size it's quite compact. And for a lot of people this tablet with its Android system doesn't have any limitation compared to a full Windows OS. For me personally as a software engineer it's a bit different, because doing any proper programming is sadly almost impossible on tablet systems, both Android and iPad OS.
Doess the 16g of ram make a big QUOTEdifference in the 1tb version compared to the 512 version

Those camera location/size changes just scream “rort” on Samusungs part. They’ve done the same with Z Fold 5 so that old cases wont fit on new phone and new cases won’t fit fold 4. Really poor support for people spending a lot of money on devices and accessories.
The cases fit they just block the camera flash.

It sure is. I traded my S8 Ultra in at my first opportunity and got the 1TB S9 Ultra. With the trade-in (and the miniscule first responder discount) it was $800 and change.
