I have the Tab S8+ and the only reason I would ever consider buying an IPad is for Procreate but as I already have the Tab S8+, it's not worth the money spent. Krita is my go to drawing and animation app.
Have an S9 11" and a an iPad Pro 11". if we are just talking about screens, they both are amazing and anyone would be extremely happy with either. However, the tandem oled display is the best display I have ever seen. Yes it's brighter, but it's not just that, the tandem oled display is near perfect>. OLED displays usually use ABL, which limits the full screen brightness after a short period of time. The tandem oled display does not have this issue. It always looks bright full screen, even at lower brightness. All that being said, I still prefer to watch content on the Samsung, because of its aspect ratio (less black bars being used) so you get more screen to actually use, rather then being "blacked out" due to the films aspect ratio.
The fact that you can use S9 as an external monitor with S pen input in windows is a huge deal for me. I taught math to elementary kids after school through online meeting. Writing to power point slides directly with a S pen just makes the teaching so much easier.

I just bought the 12.9 M2 iPad Pro and for me its really an ecosystem thing because the Tab S9 Ultra has been tempting me but I like being able to use continuity on everything else in my home and I don’t have to figure out how to support yet another device since iOS is pretty easy across devices whether its an iPad, iPhone, and even MacOS.
I promise you that if you switched you would see just how simple samsung is. You don't lose anything outside of communication with other apple users. The ultra is amazing and samsung notes is unreal. Lastly samsung ecosystem is just as good and seamless. I have the s24 ultra, s9 ultra, watch 6 pro, buds pro 2, samsung TV for Dex as well.
I tried every os smartphone or tablet. Currently going with a used ipad m1 11 ‘’ and iphone 14 pro (i gifted my macbook pro to my brother) the ecosystem works just fine. The copy past from every devices is awesome and I dont know if it’s possible on samsung or android in general. But I have to confess that I am tempted by the oneplus 12 or the s24 Ultra 👀
@@disciple37mt That's why I got the Fold 5. Really like the phone and tablet experience with Samsung thought it would be a great way to bridge the gap.
@@PSy84 I've used ipads and they're overpriced and underwhelming imo. They lack a lot of features that Android has been having for generations. They just make incremental updates and call it revolutionary..
I traded my ipad 10th Gen 64GB for the S9 Plus, what a great decision, not to mention I got $288 back for that ipad, and overall I paid $541 with the discoutns. I'm very please with the 12.x tablet, makes a big difference and also, I pretty much switched everything apple to Samsung Galaxy, phone, watch, headphones, tablet and definitely will not be switching back. I like how I can slap a USB-C card reader or a USB-C flash drive on the Galaxy tab and it's ablel to recognize, open and use that storage immediately........unlike my ipad 10th which never open my USB-C flash drive. I carry my back pack around and I also use a dash cam....how will you be able to slap a USB-C card reader, put the microSD card in then in the iPad (usb-c port) w/o having some incompatible issues? You can't! With Adroid, it just works. Nope! I ain't never going back to apple and their incompatible OS.
That's my experience of apple everything is more of a pain in the ass especially when it comes to things apple want to monetise, i just can't be bothered to jump through apples hoops to do basic computing functions, android is easy plug and play.
Your comments are misleading and this review is not very accurate. First off, both tablets do not have a Thunderbolt 4 port. The iPad is Thunderbolt 4 whilst the S9 Ultra is only USB C 3.2 Gen 1. That means the iPad is capable of doing up to 10G using a specific Thunderbolt cable (You can’t just use any C-to-C cable to work) and 3.1 Gen Type C can only achieve up to 5Gbps (still not bad but is not 10Gb). Second, the Samsung display does not achieve 1700 nits of brightness 😆. Please do not spread misinformation as these devices are not cheap! Both devices are extremely nice in my opinion. Just depends on your cause of use.
I have both. I have been with Apple for decades. I still have my old 2018 iPad Pro, my partner has the m4 iPad, but I bough a Tab S9 ultra over the M4. Apple Cost: Pen + Keyboard and iPad is expensive, it can easily cost more than a MacBook Pro. Functionality: cut down features compared to desktop OS, dreadful desktop experience, not really Pro Power: fast but you rarely can use the power, its like a Aston Martin Martin engine in a Mini Tablets for me at least need to be portable, even though it bigger i like it a lot. The aspect ratio is better for media and browsing you get more on a screen. I tend to consume media, write documents, send and respond to emails, Dex is on another level, Apples stage manager, text correction and file management is dire. It’s fast, the iPad is faster in tests but it shows how the power is not utilised, as the 9 ultra is silky smooth even inn games. I still use apple mail, 365 office, Netflix, X, facebook, Prime, etc on my Ultra, all my existing apps are available through iCloud from my browser I thought I’d miss my iPad, but I dont. Mind you I still have a iPhone and MacBook
I went with the Tab S9 Plus recently to replace my aging iPad Pro 2017. The Samsung was just massively cheaper than an equivalent iPad Pro, it has much better multitasking, much higher degree of customization, a stock keyboard that can do predictive typing in my native language (come on Apple!), comes with the S-pen and otherwise is close in spec to the latest and greatest OLED iPad Pro. Apple had nothing even close to comparable in the same price range.
I made that mistake four years ago when I had the chance to get the iPad Pro 2020 and I chose the galaxy tab S7 plus and it was a horrible experience for me not to do with the tablet itself but more to do the software and I couldn’t find any contact apps that I wanted And the speakers were absolutely garbage on the Samsung tablet as well compared to my sisters iPad Pro which had booming bass and I think the Samsung had big brand for their audio system but can’t remember the name but either way I did not enjoy it. It sucked so I got rid of the 7plus and I haven’t looked back. I’m sorry but I do think the iPad Pro is the better device, but I will concede the iPadOS hold it back, I would still rather use iPadOS over Samsung‘s brand of android which is a bloated mess.
Aspect ratio is a big thing as well. On the Ipad you get big black bars on the top and bottom, even worse the subtitles won’t display on the black parts. The 11” version has a better ratio, imo.
Not sure where you got the 1750 nits from for brightness on the S9 Ultra. Samsung specs and reviews show it has a peak brightness of 930 nits in HDR. In SDR, it’s around 400 nits. I have one of these and its brightness is nowhere near that of the iPad Pro.
@@jandy1 No where in their literature does Samsung mention anything about 1750 nits. They do talk about a maximum 930 nits under HDR. Regular OLED panels of that size cannot sustain that kind of brightness. That’s why Apple uses the tandem OLED. The S9 Ultra uses their standard high end AMOLED panel, which I believe they call AMOLED 2X. I have one of these. It’s not a very bright tablet. It’s still a very nice screen. It just isn’t really any brighter than most other OLED panels. The stat might be confused with Samsung’s Galaxy phones which can reach that brightness, but those are short-lived to be used in bright sunlight and dim down very quickly.
Compared the Tab S9 Plus to my M2 MacBook Pro 16" (1600 nits peak, 1000 sustained brightness) and for HDR content I really had to look at the brightest of bright highlights side by side to see a difference. The Mac was just marginally better. I think the HDR performance of the Tab S9 series is very good.
@@kasakkaJust to clarify, the mini LEDs in the M2 MacBook Pro (and the M1/M2 iPad Pros) have 1600 nit peak and 600 sustained. The display in the new iPad Pros are 1000 sustained, and it does make a noticeable difference in sunlight.
keeping my tab s9u cause of ip68, expandable memory with sd card, customization, massive screen size, better screen ratio for media consumption and samsung ecosystem
While I understand the stance that the specs of the iPad and Tab S9 are powerful enough to run present-day apps for most people, it’s important to note that the chipset in Tab S9 (and S10) isn’t in the same league as the M4 in terms of power. This is significant when considering longevity, as the M4 iPad Pro will likely still feel snappy after 5+ years.
I have both. I use the iPad Pro 13 inches M4 for reading content and the Samsung s9 Ultra for watching content. The Ultra has better(more colorful)display, better speakers, battery life, and better cameras.
Great review. You covered important areas in detail and shared your opinion with no bias. While there are some features that one offers and the other tablet doesn’t, they are very similar feature wise. Like you said, it’ll come down to software preference either way. Continuity is awesome, however, there is nothing wrong with having an iPhone/S Tab 9 Ultra setup or a Galaxy S/iPad setup. You can’t go wrong either way.

Had a chance to try out the ipad pro m4 today. Solid tablet as you'd expect from Apple. However, for me, I use my tabs9 as an emulating gaming tablet. Snes, n64, gamecube, Wii, switch and soon wii u. I also use it to stream my pc games. So until there's better emulation on the iPad, I'm staying with samsung
I have moved from the iPad pro to the samsung tab S9 plus because I didn't see the point in buying a laptop based on there isn't anything that I would do on a laptop that my tablet can't do
Trust me guys the tab s9 is superior and more fun to use. One of the best I've owned . It comes w s pen in box , is water proof, can do higher level emulation , no limitations, better multi tasking , has micro SD card, has open operating system etc. Also apple got that apple pencil idea from Samsung. On my tab s9 I play Mario 3d world at 60 fps and project every console game on my Samsung TV wirelessly w my gamesir , backbone and Xbox controller
I've been rocking my galaxy s7 plus up to now, and it's still amazing. I just recently bought a magic keyboard style attachment for it and started using dex and LET ME TELL YOU SOMTHING!!!Dex is absolutely insane! Other than data transferring through multiple hard drives, it's making me start to regret dropping 1500 bucks to build a PC that I hardly use anymore
I bought the 13” iPad Pro because of how easy it is to use as a second monitor for my MacBook when working on the road. Otherwise I think the 11” is a much better size to hold in your hands
Great review. I've owned multiple Android tablets and iPads over the years and the 13" M4 Pro iPad is my current mainstay. I gave the S9 Utra a trial buy but returned it - the high reflectivity of the screen was a dealbreaker for me.
Neither in that size. 11" is the better tablet for me. I don't quite understand why most comparisons are always against the Ultra, even when comparing it against the M4 Pro 11".
A few years ago, I switched from a PC desktop to an M1 MacBook Pro. I am blown away by how much better it is. A few weeks ago, I received a new iPad Pro 4, which replaced a low-end Samsung. A high-end Samsung would’ve been just as powerful, and much cheaper, but I really like the Mac ecosystem now, especially how long I can get security updates. I still have an android phone, but next time it will probably be an iPhone.
@@Adamtendo_player_1nah, I want to go back to android, first because I miss the game I once used to play. It’s not even available in IOS App Store and the Bible app I once had is also not available
I have been considering a tablet device for when I go on business trips without bringing my laptop, and I tried my older iPad pro but the Stage Manager is honestly so hard and convoluted to use, the size of the screen also makes the so called multi-tasking windows really bad to use. It's honestly one of the times when K-I-S-S really helps for such a device. But otherwise, yes iPad Pro is way better in terms of the tech and speed of the device, but honestly, you don't need such high-technology in a Tablet.
It's pretty hard to say that the best tablet right now isn't the iPad 10th generation which is available for $320 on Amazon with all the new features of iPadOS. You can even pick up the iPad 9th gen for $250 at Walmart or Costco. For what most people use an iPad for, it is all they need. BTW, you don't mention reading as something you do with your tablet, the size of the Samsung makes that pretty difficult. I personally love my Mini (which cost me $399).
Ecosystem-wise I am an all-Apple guy, Macbook Pro M3pro, iPhone 15 pro max, iWatch Ultra 2... and I develop iOS apps and sell on Apple Store... HOWEVER... my tablet is the Samsung Galaxy S9+ which offers an AMAZING gaming experience.
The tab S9 is SO much better. Apple’s M4 chip is super powerful….big friggin’ whoop. Try opening multiple windows and do real multitasking. You also didn’t mention that the galaxy S pen NEVER needs charging. It will work even if fully dead. The samsung is also a much better aspect ratio for movies and gaming. Can’t wait for the tab S10 ultra in october; really hoping samsung improves their shitty keyboard case. That’s the ONLY negative I can think of for the galaxy tab.
Opium from a Samsung fanboy iPad crushes android tablets does it matter if Samsung has all the flexibility in the world? The factors are android is still a mobile tablet yes you can do more and I agree android has a better file system if you’re musician or you’re not gonna go with the Galaxy tab S9 ultra that’s a fact..
i used samsung tab S6 for 4 years and just replaced it with m4 ipadpro 11. the only thing i miss on the tab s6 is the dex mode. but ipadOS’ stage manager is also good for my current needs. just waiting for the next quirks on the next ipadOS update.
I have both and for media consumptio, It is s9 ultra that's the winner. The only reason that I also have M4 IPad pro is because on Android, there's no Procreate for drawing. If there was an application that is equivalent to procreate, probably nobody needs an iPad. Unless they have everything Mac already. Another thing about s the multi way Split screen. On iPad, you can only do left and right on s9, you can do three ways four ways..
I plan to buy the ipad pro m4, but most of people in the comments said that s9u is the better device. I decided to check at the market app in my country. Damn, s9u is more expensive.
Could you please help me get the M4? I genuinely need an iPad for gaming and design. It would mean so much to me and truly make a difference in my creative journey. Thank you for considering my request!
well, seeing this video twisted my mind so bad, i was completely decided on the iPad pro M4 and after watching this decided to go for the Tab S 9 ultra and boy did i regretted it. from my experience using the ultra i found discomfort using it in the bed, which was the main purpose of taking hardware to the bed, this thing is heavy, the screen touches my belly and it goes unresponsive, but software ways it is really good, but when i try to accommodate it in a manner that i dont have to twist down my neck so hard, but its impossible to manage with just one hand, the screen is beautiful, but most of the things really dont compensate. so i tried to use the tab outside my apple environment to be fair, and it got me even more decided to get the ipad. so that what i will do...when i get rid of the tab S 9of course.
I'm an android user but the only reason why I like the ipad is for app variety (I'm not talking about the OS). It is a shame that we don't have real pro apps for android tablets.
M4 chip on ipad is no doubt far superior than any tablet right now but if you're an average user, used it for media consumption and productivity. I think s9 ultra would be good choice as well. I think for an artist, editor and gamers ipad would be a better choice since it has better apps that it offers that is available on ipad os.
The Galaxy tab series is still using mobile chipset, but since the X elite series is out, I'm pretty sure, The Tab series will start releasig Android and windows version pretty soon.
I have Samsung tablet i can say display are fantastic in watching movies with beautiful screen it's make me love display so must. Recommended for who want tablet for movies it's only oled from Samsung.
The issue for me here is the s9 tab uses the same processor as the s23 ultra. It's not very good for gaming compared to the M4. I'm an android guy but M4 was my first ever apple purchase. The downsides are iOS is not nearly as good as the android and everything is just so expensive like the keyboard and the pen.
The problem about the Samsung tablet with the keyboard is always the fact that they have a prop out stand that does not work on the lap! The iPad with their keyboard is perfect for the lap. That is a deal breaker for me.
I just bought iPad M4 for my wife. I would buy samsung if I am buying for my self. Nothing bad in iPad but I am more like a android person. M4 chip is really powerful, not sure samsung can match it.
Got the m4 iPad Pro 13 in on release day and have enjoyed every thing about it. Came from a 12.9 and the drastic weight difference and thinness is one you really have see in person. Not to mention, the OLED is a big improvement over the mini LED on the M1 Pro. As always, battery could be better but, I like my m4 iPad Pro
Would you say the battery is on par with the M1 pro or worse? Just upgraded from my 2020 pro to an M2 Pro and I don't feel bad about it. It's on sale for the same price as the new 13" air. Same chip but better display and 120hz.
hope you don't mean the snapdragon x elite series! That's confirmed in rumours to NOT be coming :(. FYI samsung gonig to use exynos apparently on s10 and s10+. Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (skipping 3 apparently) only for ultra

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series is clearly a better tablet than the iPad by far and it's doing it just by software alone. However, the software support (apps) aren't at iPad level and the ipad basically has a desktop cpu.

@RustyJamesify yes you can copy on a Samsung phone and paste on tablet or samsung laptop.
@@carlbrenda6518 thank you for the info my friend ! That a nice argument for me.
Basically if you've spent money on other apple devices, go for the iPad. In every other case, go for the Samsung..
nah. Most android users I know still prefers iPad
@@PSy84 most people you know are not an argument. Ipad is severly lacking in features.
Apple
Cost: Pen + Keyboard and iPad is expensive, it can easily cost more than a MacBook Pro.
Functionality: cut down features compared to desktop OS, dreadful desktop experience, not really Pro
Power: fast but you rarely can use the power, its like a Aston Martin Martin engine in a Mini
Tablets for me at least need to be portable, even though it bigger i like it a lot. The aspect ratio is better for media and browsing you get more on a screen.
I tend to consume media, write documents, send and respond to emails,
Dex is on another level, Apples stage manager, text correction and file management is dire.
It’s fast, the iPad is faster in tests but it shows how the power is not utilised, as the 9 ultra is silky smooth even inn games.
I still use apple mail, 365 office, Netflix, X, facebook, Prime, etc on my Ultra, all my existing apps are available through iCloud from my browser
I thought I’d miss my iPad, but I dont.
One of the only reason I don't choose the iPad bcs of Samsung Notes. It's just too good and prefer the spen bcs of the functionality.
I wonder if it is HDR "peak brightness". Meaning the highlights in HDR can go that bright but the sustained brightness maxes out at 930.
Watching on my Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra ❤
Watching on my Galaxy S9 11" 💖✌️
keeping my tab s9u cause of ip68, expandable memory with sd card, customization, massive screen size, better screen ratio for media consumption and samsung ecosystem
Goodpoint

11:05 Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is the winner in terms of battery life, storage and value for money.
How do you play Mario and do emukatiobs
Mario how
@sublimechimp emulation my friend and my red magic does it even better
I've been rocking my galaxy s7 plus up to now, and it's still amazing. I just recently bought a magic keyboard style attachment for it and started using dex and LET ME TELL YOU SOMTHING!!!Dex is absolutely insane! Other than data transferring through multiple hard drives, it's making me start to regret dropping 1500 bucks to build a PC that I hardly use anymore
Both tablets are a beast in their own ways and as a andriod user i respect the apple comunity 🤖🤜🤛🍎
Once you get a taste of a few apple devices, the police is so strong you just can’t leave. There’s just something special about the Apple ecosystem.
@@Adamtendo_player_1nah, I want to go back to android, first because I miss the game I once used to play. It’s not even available in IOS App Store and the Bible app I once had is also not available
I dip my Tab S9 Ultra in the lake just because I can. Water resistance in a tablet caught my wallet
Ok
LEGEND 😂
Great video, thanks ! What is the difference in export times of an edited 4K video in davinci/premiere/capcut between the two ?
Superb comparison! Thank you very much. 👍🏼👍🏼💪🏼
Comes with the pen I like that stand by battery life is better . Micro as card slot get 256 gig model on the cheap n put a 2 Tb so card in it
I’m a 11” m4 iPad Pro user and I can’t stand the cursor when using the iPad docked. The ‘sticking’ to icons is way too aggressive

Copium
Opium from a Samsung fanboy iPad crushes android tablets does it matter if Samsung has all the flexibility in the world? The factors are android is still a mobile tablet yes you can do more and I agree android has a better file system if you’re musician or you’re not gonna go with the Galaxy tab S9 ultra that’s a fact..
Whats the type c transfer speed, the ipad is thunderbold no?
i used samsung tab S6 for 4 years and just replaced it with m4 ipadpro 11. the only thing i miss on the tab s6 is the dex mode. but ipadOS’ stage manager is also good for my current needs. just waiting for the next quirks on the next ipadOS update.
No cellular option on the Samsung, no sale. I use it far too much on my current iPad Pro. Hotspot is just not a viable option for my usage.
That’s a surprise. For some reason I thought Samsung offered a cellular model. Maybe it will change that with the next model.
It does have cellular. Its combined in the micro sd card slot

Tab s10 ultra better bring a 15.7 inch screen size, love my tab s9 ultra!!
Excellent review coverage of all points. I was tired of apple fan boys reviews.
M4 chip on ipad is no doubt far superior than any tablet right now but if you're an average user, used it for media consumption and productivity. I think s9 ultra would be good choice as well. I think for an artist, editor and gamers ipad would be a better choice since it has better apps that it offers that is available on ipad os.
i really love your review. a very fair comparison. overal, i love both devices.
Thank you!
I have Samsung 24 ultra, watch, Galaxy buds but I can’t get built in LTE but I can get any iPad with LTE
Never using a trackpad....allways using a mouse...and watching movies is way better on the s9 due to aspect ratio
Thanks for the in depth comparison! Both seem pretty close in specs but I'd likely lean towards the Tab mostly for price sake 😅
Watching this on my unbelievably thin iPad Pro M4 🔥
Crisp and bang on, really loved the explanation. This will really help my purchase decision.
You forgot the IP68 on the TAB S9 ULTRA😊
I am very confused between Apple and Android 😢

The problem about the Samsung tablet with the keyboard is always the fact that they have a prop out stand that does not work on the lap! The iPad with their keyboard is perfect for the lap. That is a deal breaker for me.
I really like the Samsung however I wish they had an 11 inch version. 14 is bigger than I currently need or want.
The plus model is 12.4" and the cheapest model is 11"
I just bought iPad M4 for my wife.
Can’t wait for the new snapdragon on the new tab s10 ,But dang that iPad looks so good on that Magic Keyboard

We're dying to know what Apple really thinks of and is planning to do anout touch screens for Macs.
Im an aviator, we use iPads for Foreflight which then can be used on Apple watches as well. Foreflight isnt on Android tablets, as well as other optimized apps. I have to go with the iPad for sure.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series is clearly a better tablet than the iPad by far and it's doing it just by software alone. However, the software support (apps) aren't at iPad level and the ipad basically has a desktop cpu.
