Im so stuck between this and the r125. (comparing looks since specs are so similar)
I love the massive rear tyre on this bike, the naked style, and the rear and side looks stunning, but i dont think the front looks great
Where as the r125 sounds better, (even with aftermarket exhaust) and the front on that looks fantastic, but side and back are a little boring.
The newer versions of honda cbr125r look and sound fantastic

it has been 6 years but he said that the bars are wide so it's pretty comfortable but I don't think on long rides the seat would be comfortable

Im tied between the Duke and RC...I can ride one next February but I just dont know what to go for. The Duke looks more 'around town' practical but the RC looks amazing and would be better for times when you just want to enjoy the biker experience...err.
U n I have same problem I also can't decide between rc looks and duke overall performance in city
118himan i have the rc 125 and for city riding its really good! i have been on the duke 125 for some hours in city and country roads and the rc is a lot better on twisty country roads and its about the same as the duke in city riding :)

What is the street mpg though? For the 125/200/390 each
PC5032 i got the RC 125 and i use about 2.2L/100km (128 MPG) if i shift under 8k rpm and cruise on about 6k rpm(aka riding normally and not pushing it) :)
Twinzh Thanks. I get about 65 mpg on my Honda Rebel 250 and 50mpg Honda CM450. I have a Suzuki GZ250 that after rebuilt it and bob it out I should get about 80+ mpg. Just wondering if it was worth getting a whole new platform for the higher mpg. A new KTM is $$$.
I haul a *lot* of groceries all the time on my bikes (like every trip), so a sport bike wouldn't work for that, but I could see using this maybe as a daily driver just to get back and forth to work on the cheap, if you didn't have to go really far or carry anything other than yourself.
PC5032 the riding position is making it a really good daily bike! i easily ride for hours with my rc 125 in city's and on the country roads without feeling sore after. I would say that the 390cc is better if you can have it. reason why i got the 125cc is because I'm only 16 and 11kw is max :/
Even tho it only has 11kw its still a lot of fun! and the high mpg makes it cheap to ride! The tank is only about 10 litres (2.6gallons) but it can get you 300-500km(190-310miles) depending on how you ride :)

dude i am have back pain can i buy duke rc 125 bike??
Hey. When I was making my driving license I was given Yamaha YBR 125 and Yamaha TW 125. I'm almost 1,9m tall so both of them gave me rather straight rider position. But more straight on TW 125 what was pain in the...back :) My first own bike was touring-sport GSX600F - sporty riders position, but quite comfy up to 200km (or 3h) if you know how to work with your body on a bike(if no, then count it up to 150km or 2h). The second one is V-Strom 650 which gives me absolutely straight back, and a surprise is that there is no such a thing like back pain (like it was on little TW 125). Even making 400km (6h) on serpentine roads I'm still good. Conclusion? few centimeters in position or way the suspension works makes a difference. So take the bike on a test ride on some bumpy road (or even some nasty speed bumps) to see if your back handles it.
Put it against the Duke :D
If you are thinking speed the ktm rc is a bit faster than the duke but not much.
The rc would piss all over the Duke.

UltraDaniel HD I'm about 6"1(185cm) and the duke is a bit too small for me, i own the rc 125 and its perfect for me :) i would go for the rc125, the duke isn't better than the rc. Even for city riding its about the same. (i have been riding the duke in city and country roads)

Krasimir Dragomirov i think its about the same seat height. but the riding position is a lot more comfortable! i can ride for hours without getting uncomfortable(i got the ergo seat tho)

Can't tell you RC or Duke, but may suggest that better without ABS if it is your first bike. RidingWithTom gave us a video "Yamaha YZF-R125 CRASH!" about it lately - watch it to the end/conclusion and then choose wisely. :)

Think it would be possible to respray the main frame or get ktm to do some special paintjob without too much of a hefty cost? I love the concept of the revealed main frame but holy shit that paint job is horrible.
