    Nice prep for the trip... I just got back from the U.P. of Michigan, on my Honda Silverwing 600. 1 week, wilderness camping until the last night, when a storm come in from Lake Michigan... I'm ready to go again already... and I've only been home a week... LOL.

      I lean more towards motel trips now. Getting too old for sleeping on the ground!

    Lots of stuff lol. But years back i followed the travels of a guy named Wan Lee who traveled the US on a 50cc honda ruckus. He carried MORE stuff lol. Keep rolling amigo!

    I just bought my first scooter 5 months ago. Already put 5,000 miles on it. Getting ready to start doing some overnight trips. It's a 2016 Honda Forza 300. I really enjoyed your video. Thanks

      Hey Charles, my last scooter was Honda Forza. Great running bike but doesn't hold up well when it gets windy on the highway. I wouldn't plan any long distance trips with it, that scooter is designed for city driving.

      @@baldandbiking Thanks for the shout back. I never get on the freeway. I just stay on the 2 lane county roads here in Alabama. I'm going to Blue Ridge Parkway this March. I did not know that BMW made a scooter. I was planning on upgrading to a Honda SilverWing but now I will check out the BMW. Be safe.

      @@charlesroper9057 BMW makes the largest and most powerful scooter you can get. I think the Silverwing is a thing of the past now and not sure if they even make them any more. BMW also makes a newer model which is a 400 which might be better for you if you don't want to do any long highway trips. The 400 would be super fast and very reliable. You can find all the reviews on youtube.

    African twin VS BWM 650? Do you miss the scoot?

    Has the BMW scooter been a good scooter so far, nice packing

      So far it's been great. The only flaw I can find it that it doesn't feel good on gravel. There is something I'm reading about having to redo the transmission belts after 15-20k but haven't confirmed it. Mine is now at 15K and still runs fine. It is very hard to find a bike shop that will work on them and it's expensive when you do.

      @@baldandbiking I thought about getting a 650 burgman, I have a 250 Honda ,me and the wife both go on it , no problems, want to go on some scooter camping trips in the upper Michigan up but wish the scooter had a little more pep but does pretty good.

    • @baldandbiking
      @baldandbiking  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@misterz2719 Personally I think the burgmans are ugly, but Im sure they have all the functionality of this BMW. There is also a 400 BMW scooter which is the newer model. A 250 is underpowered for highway travel but great for local trips or around the city. YOu can see in my video how much stuff you can fit into the scooter with a top case, but if you take your spouse there would be no room for the tent and bags. If you are bringing her the motel trip idea would be much better.

      @@baldandbiking I can go fast enough on highway, problem is even with my wife and me it still gets bucked around because it's light, , so the wind pushes us around, my wife loves it more than any other bike I have owned, I agree the BMW do look better, the burgman rides great, lots of power, I will check the 400 out

    • @baldandbiking
      @baldandbiking  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@misterz2719 The 400 may be a bit light too. I had a Forza 300 before this, it was plenty fast enough but the wind blew it all over the place. It's all about what you want to use it for. If you plan to do long distance road trips, dont get anything under 400 lbs.

    You do know you bought a BMW 100% made by Kymco in Taiwan, right? Should have bought the Kymco 550cc Max scooter that is 200 lbs lighter and is faster and shares the same suspension. Kymco also builds the single cylinder 310/410 for the BMW trail bikes. BMW is just a name.

    • @baldandbiking
      @baldandbiking  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the input. I did a scooter rally after that where the first prize was a new Kymco scooter. I still loved this bike though. I don't have it any more.
