It was. The Dreamcast is the baby brother of the NAOMI arcade hardware that CvS2 ran on. I've got the Dreamcast version at home: it's a great port. :)

I love the unconventional team of hibiki, iori, and morrigan. So sick of seeing the same cammy, bison, sagat, blanka team.
They pick those characters because they're generally the best and most people playing in competitive settings are playing to win. :\
Yeah exactly, every top tier character is a street fighter character, and it gets pretty stale watching cause every pro has the same team.
Preppy you said "best" i say *"cheap"* and apart from sakura those are actually the cheapest in the game indeed (except sagat he takes skill but _fuck_ the others, _specially BLANKA_) not the best to play, that's what i dislike or feel dissapointed about most "pros" picking always stuff that make them win the easier way just cause they're "the best" to pick

Preppy It is just that most people like to bitch. They like to call characters "cheap" and discredit wins, when they cannot do any better. They implement stupid "rules" that they think everyone should follow. But you have read "play to win" and you know.

there are certain presentations that just *shouldn't* be skiped no matter if you're in a tourny or something... IORI vs BISON and CHUN-LI vs baddies (or Yamazaki) are *2 of them* lol
Absolutely dont blame people for playing to win but it is a damn shame the meta ended up being all sf2 characters when imo later capcom characters and snk characters are so much cooler. Even snk's Ryu rip off Ryo is the cooler of the two, I think

It's great to see Buktooth play an unconventional groove, and all mid tier characters, and still woop ass. I just wish other players would follow suit....I get so sick of seeing EVERY TEAM have a Blanka or Sagat
Iori, Hibiki and Chun are absolutely not mid tier. Only Morrigan is.

The ST HD Remix debacle messed with all the other games. HD Remix was waaaaay over schedule and budget, AFAIA.

This is like a lot of mind game, both of them were reading and predicting what their opponent's next move.
Buktooth played as any SNK roster like normally would, while Daigo pick meta characters with actually bad match-up that relying so much on the A-Groove combo and his own reaction skill, that's why it ended became a mind game lol
This one for example 6:57 Daigo was successfully baited Hibiki so that he can do the A-Groove combo.
game mechanics and style is so much SF oriented( although some pwer gauges is base on KOF)..reason no KOF high level players play this game
A groove and roll cancel killed this game. It's so broken in professional play.

I play (2020), but I suck at this. I know how to do special moves and basic combos, but things like good spacing and reaction are completely beyond me. Let's not even get to the difficult combos.

What kills me is “marvel” is basically impossible to work with now. So, honestly I think it would make better business sense to go back in with “snk”. Would love to see a 3D version of this with all the clicks and whistles. Then they could add more darkstalker characters.

How comes Morrigan isnt considered that good in this game? Having a dash like that, which can be used for fast mixups and unique movement, is surely very good in a ground based SF style game?

+placebo1234 Daigo wasn't hated, but he had that NY Yankee heat with the FGC for a while, same as JWong. Some people would rather watch the best players lose, than to watch them continue to win. I think for a lot of people it makes them feel better about their own losses to see someone much better than themselves lose.
Or you know, the fact that one is using a team full of top tier characters, and another was a lesser known player doing extremely well which is exciting.
TempusKing buktooth wasn't "lesser known" at all. Campbell was one of the best CvS2 players for the entire life of the game. If anything, Daigo would have been the underdog in this match. People cheered Buk because he's American, and this match happened in America. That's all.

Why does he say "Daigo on the right, Buktooth on the left"? What is he smoking? and why no one mentioned that its actually the opposite. It's very obvious straight away that Diago is not on the right, he does not play snk characters.
Sometimes people would be seated opposite of where they were playing, which can really screw with you. Brain fart, I guess. :)

The only thing I hated about this game was kof characters was so nerfed. And it was a massive hit because SF is appreciated more in US abd japan. But in thé rest if thé World that game was disrespectfull to the true power of SNK charaters
