At $45,490 CAD, would you take it over Jakub's Cobb Stage 3 Fiesta ST, Civic Type R, Elantra N, Veloster N, Kona N, Golf R, used Focus RS, used Subaru STI?

Imagine how much of a bargain (relatively) this car would be if it was sold at MSRP! Love this car so much but dealers are going to put it out of reach for so many people… the majority of the car’s intended market/audience.

It's so wild that the only reason this isn't as MASSIVE of a departure for Toyota is because the absolutely insane GR Yaris came first. In isolation, this is such a wild car for Toyota to have released. It's just the GR Yaris being fully bespoke bodied (where this has a modified Corolla body) makes it that extra bit special.

Here in December of 2023, you can buy a core edition with performance package for MSRP - $38,800. I test drove one of these by myself. I never thought I would drive a car that I like better than the Fiesta ST until I drove this car. I was a big Subaru guy for awhile, but the handling of the Fiesta ST won me over. I like AWD, but in most cars of this price point it diminishes the fun.

Dang it Toyota. I literally said before this was announced that the Corolla hatch looked good enough I'd totally buy it if it had a manual and/or AWD and/or a powerful engine option. And now that _exactly that exists,_ I'll never be able to find one for sale.
Hopefully that'll change by the time I can afford my next car... we'll see. Maybe these will hit the used market one day.
