I told them that at that price range, I'll go to Chevrolet and get a god damned Camaro 1LE and have more fun all around and at the track. The general manager told me I'm not a true Toyota guy if I buy a Chevrolet. I told him my Supra alone makes me more of a Toyota guy than he'll ever be. I also told him my Z06 might not be fun but even the new 1LE Camaro is more fun all around and better performing than this overpriced Corolla. I also own an AE86 (Corolla sport gts), Mark IV Supra and my little 2000 Toyota Echo which has 321k original miles. I also have a 2004 C5 Z06. "Overall, the main difference between 4x4 and AWD is that AWD systems are always active and automatically share torque among the axles when low-traction conditions are detected, while 4WD systems are part-time and need to be engaged by the driver via a lever or button in the cockpit."
      Also some 4WD systems can have two different speeds, and AWD systems can share different amount of torque between the rear and front axle. (Also possible in some 4WD systems too, and are many times used interchangeably by manufacturers.)
      There really isn't one defining answer what AWD or 4WD are since manufacturers decide to put whatever name they think fits best. For example my mother's 2019 RAV4 says it's AWD, even though the system is only activated by the driver. Same for many older Subaru Imprezas. But 4x4 can also be activated, as in my dad's Hilux, but the power isn't the same among all wheels (rear gets more torque than front). Got it?

  • @Kopernicus67
    @Kopernicus67 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yes, the GR Corolla is without a doubt a technological and engineering feat. Two things make RIP for any of the competition a little premature. First price. Try to find one at MSRP. Heck, how about without markups over MSRP! Second, these cars are going to be sold to people who are into performance, and no one wants one just as fast as the one next to them. WIth 300 hp already coming out of 1.6L there is little headroom for anything more. Most 2.0L Audi/VW engines max out at 400 hp and this is already there. The smaller the engine, the more heat is has to dissipate to put out the same power as a larger engine just chugging along. Too much heat = failure.
    Great car, but hardly the end of the competition. RIP will come when the manufacturers decide CUVs, hybrids and EVs are the only way to make their CAFE requirements. Ford already did that in the US with the Focus RS, and VW no longer sells a regular Golf in the US. Veloster is gone, and replaced with the larger Elantra.
