  • Today, we explore Azlant and Thassilon, two of the Ancient civilizations destroyed by the Earthfall over 10,000 years ago. Two civilizations that set the stage for much of Golarion's future development.

    The gods that ascended from mortals would be a fun one. Getting more details on Cayden, Norgorber, and Iomedae is always good.

    • @Dramon8888
      @Dramon8888 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      A video on the Starstone would be cool, but I would prefer one on the others ascended mortals, like Nethys, Irori, Kurgess, etc.
      One of my favourites is Lao Shu Po, since it was just a random rat before lol

      @@Dramon8888 I actually hadn't heard of Lao Shu Po before, so thank you for sharing. Maybe there should just be a stint of any ascended entities, even if they didn't make full godhood.

    Going by the old Dragon Mag #93 pronunciation guide it's 'EYE-oon' stone. But thanks for the video good info.

    • @SirVertigo
      @SirVertigo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, one thing I struggle with is pronunciation on certain things. I don't have many around me who play, so the only way I've heard these words are by reading them, and I tend to read them differently then they are said lol

    For tha algorithm!
    I know the topic I am most looking forward to is the Whispering Tyrant. It doesn't seem right to do that one early in your series.
    Maybe some regional histories? Like the Saga Lands, to pick up where you left off here? The tricky park is not making it sound like a history book.
    I do have a suggestion for your videos. I find bullet style text to help remember important concepts. Like in this video, the 7 virtues and sins *could* have been listed out. But Ixm not sure if it would be worth your additional time editing.
    I did like your use of heroforge minis when you didn't have a character portrait. Clever, and well done! As always, thank you, and I look forward to more.

    • @SirVertigo
      @SirVertigo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the feedback, its appreciated! My next video is Ustalav, mainly for my wife because her current character is from there lol
      I'll keep that in mind with the bulletins, I had been attempting to keep things audio only so that if you can't watch the screen your not going to miss out any info but i didn't think of using it as a list also :)
      At the moment with Ustalav, it was such a large video I split it in two, a player and gm video so hopefully I'll have it finished by Friday still lol

    • @aloseman
      @aloseman 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SirVertigo Ustalav will be cool. That's the undead based nation, right? I like your idea of splitting them into player based and GM based. Most of my lore info has come from the CRB, some live play podscasts, and your channel. I appreciate your idea of keeping the info audio only, but I think it could aid your presentation, kind of like how you use the character and creature portraits. They aren't *needed* but they help. Also, I didnxt mention it earlier, but your edit of the serpent god's head was a fun one. It made me chuckle.

    • @SirVertigo
      @SirVertigo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aloseman Ustalav is near the undead nation now. The whispering Tyrant used to be imprisoned in the gallowspire in Ustalav, but when he broke out he destroyed last wall to the south, and most of his undead forces moved there, creating the new nation of the gravelands to Ustalav's south!
      Also thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying them lol it makes my day when I get a good comment like this lol

    What about doing videos on the separate pantheons? You have obviously the ancient ones mentioned here, but you have giant pantheons, dwarven, elven, Evil, Good, Dragon, etc.

    • @SirVertigo
      @SirVertigo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do plan to cover it all, In my diety spotlights I'll probably try covering like, the Lawful good due, then the Lawful Neutral duo etc for the Inner sea Pantheon, then move into other pantheons! Get the stuff most players use first then move into others!

    Fantastic video series! I am working through them one by one. I noticed there isn't a lot of videos on the lore of Absalom. Do you have one that maybe I just missed? I figured since it is one of the biggest cities it would have a deep history.

    • @SirVertigo
      @SirVertigo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be honest, it's one of the ones I've been planning, but people requested more diety vids, so I focused on them for a while! I'll get to it soon, I know it's a big part of Golarion! It's also gonna be a massive video lol

    I would love to see information on Alkenstar, I've always been fascinated by it; and one of my current characters is the grand-daughter of a former citizen of said nation, trying to reconnect with her heritage.

    • @SirVertigo
      @SirVertigo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Alkenstar is one of the soon videos I plan to do. instead of tackling Cheliax or Taldor, I'm going to be doing lesser known countries first. Venture captains and black dragon gaming have good videos on the main nations so Im gonna shine light on some lesser known nations first. My next nation will be Ustalav (mainly because my wife's character is from there!) and I'm thinking I might explain Nex and Geb first to frame the area, then go into the mana wastes and Alkenstar.
