    Thank you. Changed the recipe a bit. I made the double amount of the dough but only used 230 g sugar plus Vanille sugar, 500 g of flour, 14 grams of baking powder (Backin, Dr. Oetker) Added 2 handful raisins. They came out lighter than my first, the original recipe, batch. It's a good, basic dough to play around with. Kind regards

      Hi, Jim - I usually don't post under such comments, but I couldn't refrain.
      I am sorry for your loss and wish you a lot of strength. While your wife may not be there physically, she will still forever be with you. I know times are sad beyond words, and I hope you take care of yourself and do/be good. This is what our loved ones would always want for us.
      I wish you all the best - hoping my message didn't cause any misunderstandings.
      Godspeed 🙏

    I made your cookies and they were delicious and soft and chewable. My brother and i were fighting over the last one.😂 Every time i made cookies they came out hard and crunchy. I wanted a soft cookie and yours was the winner. I mixed in a teaspoon of cinnamon with the flour, that was my only tweak. Thanks for sharing. The dough was a bit hard to work with but i fiddled with it until i got it right‼️👍🏼

    Last evening, I made these Apple cookies and they turned out exactly as shown here. Alas, they are BLAND with the predominant flavor being the flour; the Granny Smith apples are barely noticeable. I may attempt them again but using more sugar, probably some vanilla extract, and the same spices I use in Apple pie. This recipe might benefit from partial light brown sugar, and/or a small portion of buttermilk or yogurt. I used to make Apple/pecan muffins and in addition to Apple pieces and chopped pecans, I added a cup of applesauce which not only increased the flavor but also kept the muffins moist for a long time. Nonetheless, this is a very good video with easy to follow instructions and the end result shown is easy to achieve.

    Try using a vegetable peeler on the apples before you cut them up. Works great, and mostly only the skin gets removed. I tried it for the first time making an apple pie and it was so much faster! My grandma made banana cookies almost like this. They were my favourite cookies! Sometimes she put chocolate chips or chopped up chocolate bars in them too. Absolutely amazing!

      There is nothing special about this recipe . They are just apple pieces in a cake mix. You could at least have added some interesting spices.

    • @cliffordmorris6091
      @cliffordmorris6091 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You could have made a vegan version by losing the fat, using bananas instead and replacing eggs with chia seed or crushed linseed and water. Use dates for sweetness. The apples could make it sweet anyway. Spices such as cinnamon , nutmeg etc could be used and vanilla for flavour.
      Nuts such as walnuts, pecan chopped into the mix would be interesting. You could make a simple cashew cream to decorate.

    • @cliffordmorris6091
      @cliffordmorris6091 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Various flours could also be used. Buckwheat, oat, banana, chickpea even. You will need to use a raising agent such a baking powder and activate it with organic cider vinegar.

    Cinnamon? ...and if it's fall or holidays also add a little ginger, nutmeg and allspice. Cut apples in smaller pieces and coat them with a little flour to help the apple bits stick to the dough. Spices can be added to flour / baking powder mixture...use that to coat the apples.

    So how about I make spiced apples and then add them to the mix ? Would that interfere with the cooking or anything at all?

      It’s a basic dough recipe so you can add spices you like, vanilla, cinnamon etc. Even replace part of the apples with sultanas, dried cranberries

    I am wondering if the apples get really soft? I would not like the apples to be hard at all. I also wish they would convert the measurements into what we use here in America. Thank you.

      She did in the description below. Just hit the 'more' in blue to get amounts. 14g of baking power is between 1/2 to 1 tablespoon. I would use 1/2 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon = 14g. But you can also duckduckgo it. 👍

    So peel and chop 2 apples.
    They do look scrumptious.

    Why would you peel apples after you've cut them? Surely it's much easier to peel them when whole.

    Id peel apples before, not adter. Also, did you add water to yhe batter? There is no way you could mix all ingredients together to get the daugh shown in the video without adding some liquid.

      Hi! I didn’t add any water to the batter. You can add less flour though. Hope this helps.

      She used two eggs, didn’t she? They supplied the necessary moisture. Add a bit of milk if you want to. Our grandmothers never had a cookbook! And everything they prepared was delicious!
