    As you know, Christy, life is precious and no one is promised another day. So, the way I see it, "don't sweat the small stuff." Things don't have to be perfect...I didn't figure that out until I was very ill for 4 years. My husband and I had two young children at the time and he and his family took care of the kids and he also took care of me and worked full-time. Life is too important to fret about things that are out of our control.

    I love your videos. Everyone in the world deserves to have a husband to look at them and protect them as Lee does with you. How heartwarming to see. Don’t worry about knocking on the table as I didn’t even notice it. Re being a dispatcher, I agree with Lee that it wouldn’t be best for you. I personally think there would be a lot if scenarios that would trigger your PTSD. After what you’ve been through you deserve some peace and tranquility. I have one comment regarding the back ground music, and this won’t apply to a lot of people but my ADHD goes a bit wacky withy any background music on videos. I wish we had a way to just hear your voices (like pressing a button for CC) lol. Once you reach a certain age or if you’ve had trauma in your life, stopping to smell the roses (literally) is a whole new experience. It’s all about being appreciative for what you have and no longer desiring things you don’t have as you realise they aren’t important. Re driving - isn’t it hard for you to check your blind spots because of your restricted mobility in your neck? In that respect I think I’d prefer to let my hubby drive me but I understand that feeling of needing control. I love your goats!!! It was hilarious seeing the 2nd goat come over looking for beer. Keep up the great work Christy! An idea for a live podcast might be members only get together to “stitch and bitch” LOL. I work full time in England so I doubt I could partake in the stitching but I could do my nails and bitch enough for England ❤

      @littletraumamama  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Stop it. I LOVE the stitch and bitch idea! I’m totally writing that down on my list! As far as driving, I just have to rely heavily on my blind spot mirrors. The only time I struggle is if it’s a weird intersection and I have to physically turn my whole body both ways to make sure it’s clear.
      I think I’m the opposite with background music so I go back and forth on it, but I definitely appreciate the feedback. I try to keep it SUPER low where you basically have to have in ear buds to hear it, but obviously it’s not low enough, so thank you for letting me know!

    Christy, There’s nothing cookie cutter cliche about you and your wonderful husbands stories.
    The Trauma you have to work through isn’t always one and done per se. It can come & go. I feel just by watching you, this TH-cam venture has assisted you. I’m so thankful you are here. You can see how loved you are. Enjoy your travels.

    Life is so precious. Tomorrow is never promised. You need to live your life as of today is your last. Of course it can be worrisome for loved ones but doing what you love is life. Love watching your videos when you both are together.❤❤

    We are so excited and wanted to share this update. My daughter-in-law’s father who suffered an internal decapitation 5 weeks ago will be coming home on October 17. He has regained some movement in all his limbs but is still facing a long rehabilitation. Your prayers would be appreciated. Your podcasts have provided so much information, encouragement and understanding. Thank you for being so open and honest with us. A. Morton Ohio 19:17

    Dear Christy and Lee
    Once again you have such a great genuine way about you and telling your story.
    Lee seems like such a great humble but still full on man.
    And you are one of the most admireable people I've seen and listened to and these are my honest feelings.
    With great respect

    I have had two lots of neck surgery and would like to say that neck pain is so dreadful.I had a hip replacement that went very wrong when my sciatic nerve was stitched to my hip capsule. Then I needed a new knee because of my gait .,on 18th Oct I am having the other hip replaced and I am very frightened as I am alone now without my wonderful husband who died suddenly. Watching your struggles has given mr hope for a future.good luck

    I didn't experience anything at all like you've been through but I completely relate to the driving comment. I have Chari Malformation, and I went through decompression surgery and C1 C2 laminectomy in 2016. The first time I was able to drive again, I felt so free. It was the first time I really remember feeling like myself again

    As far as your channel goes, think about this...Life just isn't about one thing, mix it up!
    I can say that I completely understand about the driving and other things that you have mentioned here.
    And lastly, I thought that my sister-in-law's goat was the only one that was a beer drinker and knew when she was drinking beer. Lol. It really does crack me up. Have a wonderful camping trip guys! Peace...

      I read that beer is good for their rumen as well as other animals like horses and cows. I’m not sure if the other goats like it because Moe won’t let us even attempt to give anyone else beer 😊

    Hey Christy and Lee... Enjoyed this convo.
    I know exactly how you feel about driving Christy, I've recently bought an automatic to make driving easier for me (busted knees will do that to ya). I love, Love, LOVE driving.

  • @lauraelliott6909
    @lauraelliott6909 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great to hear from both of you! Christy, I once had to wear boots on both feet and I learned to drive very well in the boots. I also have minor neck issues compared to yours (cervical instability), but it's also more dangerous for me to drive or ride in a car. I was told even a minor accident could paralyze me. I had to decide what level of risk I was willing to take in order to live a full, meaningful life. It's a little scary, but sitting on the couch for the rest of my life doesn't appeal to me. It's not not terribly healthy either. So I just proceed cautiously.

  • @rebeccahendricks9829

    Driving IS freedom, especially if you have mobility issues.
    I'm a right leg amputee an for many years drove with the artificial leg shoved to the right and using my left foot to drive. Never had an issue.

    After 13 years working as a paediatric nurse, I had to switch to something else. So I went into Clinical Trial research for a few years. But missing nursing, and patients, I went to work in a large adult hospital.

    I feel for you on the having your freedom taken away. I started chemo again yesterday after gaining some strength since July. I’m struggling because today I feel like July was yesterday and I’m back to that damn cancer patient again. As if it was never better for even a minute. I also don’t drive right now and I am hating being the passenger princess.

    Oh it's not silly - the ability to drive is total freedom. I had my father's driving license taken away from him ( he had Alzheimer's ) and he never forgave me and I understand why but I couldn't allow his dangerous driving to continue. And NO you should not have driven with your boot on and I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that you'd do it again if you had to 🤣
