    I tried one (5 wood) for the first time on Friday. It performed unbelievable well. Gave me confidence off the fairway I never had before. It also helped me shoot 5 under my handicap. So today (Sunday) I ordered a 3 wood. Action speaks louder than words!

    I’ve had the Cleveland hy-wood in the bag since the beginning of the season. As a senior golfer I had been struggling with 3-wood even HL 3-woods. Not enough swing speed. This was a game changer. Not as long as traditional 3-woods but keeps you in the game, in the fairway and very controllable. Good option for anyone who struggles with traditional woods.

    Cleveland are very under-rated, and deserve more recognition. I just bought a new Launcher XL driver which has loads of forgiveness, adjustable loft and lie, and a regular flex shaft. And it is half the price of the premium drivers. It is designed for average players like me, and I will definitely be checking out their Hy-wood. Thanks for the review.

      I bought one the moment it was launched. Extremely happy with this club. I use it mainly for my second shots on par four’s and five’s Also excellent for the long par three’s. As you say Cleveland must be the most under rated brand out these. I would also recommend the CBX 2 wedges which I have 4 of and uses them lots.

    I love your reviews! The way you honestly review each poduct and especially how you take it out on the course instead of just inside in the bay. I also love the specific products you have been reviewing. The longest club in my bag after driver is a 3 maverick hybrid because of the shorter shaft. I hit that the same distance as a 3 wood, yet more accurately. The product you just reviewed is perfect for me- I'll definitely try it out. I've been looking to try the Cleveland halo hybrid irons as well. Thank you again. You do content that is relevant!

    Love the versatility of this club and I haven't even tried it yet. Plan to get the other Cleveland hybrids and was thinking of inserting this instead of the 3 hybrid. I think it will replace my TaylorMade Burner 5 wood - which I hit very well. You helped seal the deal. Cleveland seems to have the hybrids completely figured out and I have no other hybrid testing planned. Thanks for the review.

    Picked this club up today and I love it. Totally different club than the “hybrid”. It is much longer due to more fairway wood tech in the head from what I gather on the website, plus it has an inch longer shaft. It is the same head size, but It has a different feel altogether. Tried them both side by side and it was no comparison for me.

    I have a Wilson Fy-wood ( 19.5 degree) which is a similar product. It is very easy to hit well. For many slower swing players the choice of 5 Wood( 18 degree) and 7 wood ( 20 degree) and 3 hybrid ( 19 degree) is a difficult one to make. I found that the 5 Wood and 7 wood were almost carrying the same distance, but I was more accurate with the 7 wood. I think many golfers could take out the 5&7 woods and the 3 Hybrids too and use this style of club for the second shot on par 4 and par 5 holes.

    Nice review Andy. Seriously considering one of these to replace an old 3 wood I no longer get along with. Whilst I appreciate it won’t have quite the same fire power as a pure 3w, I like the greater flexibility and variety of shots I will be able to play with one of these. Cleveland’s hybrids (I have a 4h in the bag) have impressed me greatly so far and this will complement that nicely 👍

    For most Average, but decent, Golfers, the 205-220 yard club, is by far the hardest club to fit in the bag - you can find ones that go that number, but if you can find one that you can repeat startline and shot shape with, it could just be the most important club in the bag because those long Par3s, or those long recovery shots, are where, if you get it wrong, you can do enormous damage to your scorecard. Great video.

    I am looking at this or their 3+ hybrid, same head but shorter shaft again

    Andy, which shaft/flex was in that club?

    Got a bit confusing in the explanation.
    Is sounds to me like the 3+ hywood is the alternative to a regular 5 wood, is that correct?

  • @sharkhark
    @sharkhark ปีที่แล้ว

    Alot of reviews say you could lose your 3 wood as many can't hit well yours is the first saying it's just a hybrid distance

    You loved the Callaway utility wood. This pretty much seems like it’s competitor. What’s the difference that makes you choose it over the Callaway

    • @TheAverageGolfer
      @TheAverageGolfer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a good point Bruce and similar concept, I felt it was a shorter shaft (may be incorrect) but it certainly had a higher launch/ball flight but essentially your right not a lot of difference

    Ty for review, I was hoping you talked about the sound a little more, I'm hugh sound and of course feel, the reason I won't game ,ping products is because I cannot take the sound, specific there Iron, just terrible sound for me also the p790, Callaway Apex, I've gamed them all and that hollow sound is just to much for me, I've come down in loft with players irons and lost a few yards in distance, but love the feel and sound, this club sounds so good to fit in my bag , going on Cleveland web site right now and pulling the trigger! Totally trust your review , Honesty goes a long way , so ty for that!

    Andy, apart from the shaft length: Is there any difference between this Hywood and the "ordinary" XL Halo Hybrid 18°? Clubhead seems to be exactly the same. I ordered the Hybrid now, since those Hywoods seem to be hardly available here in Germany ...

    I ordered and paid for one of these 3+ 18deg HY-Wood's on the 12th April from Srixon/Cleveland through one of their official UK stockists a completely Standard club nothing special and I've still not received it...! Would be absolutely wonderful if you could actually get your hands on one..!! ☹Ps., Great review of it by the way 👍
    Ps, Delivery update 22/06/22 that's me just received my HALO XL 3+ HY-Wood it was delivered today 😀👍Cheers John.

      @@TheAverageGolfer Well I hope you are right Andy, as I'm getting a bit ragged around the edges waiting on its arrival as I don't have anything between the longest iron I have which is a 4 iron and my Driver so I'm needing something in there to plug the gap..!, the frustrating thing is I bought a set of the Launcher XL Halo irons at the same time along with Two RTX Zipcore wedges and a Smart Sole C chipper and had them all with in a couple of weeks..! @@andrewbentley2593 Same here Andrew I emailed Srixon/Cleveland to asked how long I might have to wait to take delivery and this was their replay :(Thank you for reaching out to us, to obtain an update on your order you must speak to your point of purchase as they will readily have access to this information, and they can contact us any time for an update. In the interest of consistency we by policy do not disclose this information with end users, as your purchase contract lays with the retailer.) So I then contacted my retailer and they basically said that my order had been placed on the 18th April but that my club was on back order and as soon as they received it from Srixon/Cleveland they would send it on to me..! so I'm just going to have to wait..! My Cleveland 3+ is the easiest club to hit in my bag, I can hit it almost as far as my fairway three and it is just so easy and dependable to hit.

    Haywood delivered today. Played 1 hour later. Unbelievable club, so easy to hit from all situations. Couple of Mishits but 200 yards easy and I am a 22 handicap. This club will make a big difference as I used it from the trees, chipping and fairway. If all Cleveland clubs are this balanced then I may look at all there clubs as price is an issue for me
