    My biggest criticism with this episode is just that it felt more like Jasta grilling Tim rather than a conversation. I appreciate asking the hard questions, and I’m glad he did, but there were times where it felt more like he was talking AT Tim. Toward the end it felt more conversational and had a good flow which I appreciated. Looking forward to part 2, and as someone else said; I hope new As I Lay Dying gets away from the “had fall to get back up” messaging.

      I think Tim handles it well but they are questions that some people want to hear. Personally he messed up bad and I’m over that part. Just kind of hard for me as a drummer to listen to the band now as a fan of Jordan and also Nick.

    • @ItsJeff_
      @ItsJeff_ 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@clcare5563 I agree the questions needed to be asked. I just think it could’ve been done more conversationally and less like an interrogation, especially being that these guys have history. Just my opinion though!

    I wanna thank Jamey for this. I think many folks had these questions and opinions. I’m not a fan from back in the day of Tim’s band so I feel like I don’t have a dog in the race as far as being part of his fan base. My opinion is my own but I feel like he’s still obsessive about his physical identity. Also when pressed, I don’t think he addressed his wrong doing but like brushed it off as a momentary lapse of reason. For society’s sake, hope he uses his life for the betterment of others.

    13:42 also given the background of jasta and literally what it says at the bottom of the information of this podcast I understand his position. In reality this is the best kinda convo you can get, someone who fervently stood on what they felt was wrong talking to a dude who fervently made amends and is trying to respect that going forward. These are the painful bandaids no one wants to rip off but we are all better and closer for it.

I love the music he has made and it and his personal story has helped me not feel alone. He talked about child abuse he experienced in another interview, it’s no excuse but also abusing children isn’t excusable either so how many of us suffer in silence only to be known once we loose control.❤ much love time and much love to the former AILD members, I wish they stayed but tough times show peoples true colors and time is the ultimate judge. He should, but there needs to be a day, ya know.....a bit further down the road, where he, regardless of how anyone else feels, must forgive himself. He knows it was a terrible situation/idea but as far as I'm concerned, he did what he did, was arrested, shamed, but did his time..... case closed!!! Hang in there, Tim. I get the sense I have the same sort of "moral compass" that Jasta has, maybe even more so. But I fail to see what he's doing here other than the standard podcast angle. He did the time; if you have questions as to whether he's a rehabilitated guy, don't have him on your show. This situation isn't about you other than it's your forum, your podcast. This need to dwell on the insidious details of the "kids" and "equity" is too much. Let the man move on and anyone can decide whether he's worthy of support or not.

    Jamey, let me elaborate on the Tire Shop analogy...i understand what you're saying about the equity part...but...if the guy doesn't respond about playing, for MONTHS...then how does the band continue to make and play music? It's ends up becoming stale...you can't make music or play shows if you can't have a member even respond to confirm a 'yes' or 'no'...so I ask, what were they *supposed* to do? Just sit around twiddling their thumbs? Just stop making and not schedule shows to MAKE MONEY? You talk about equity, but if you don't make music and don't play shows, then you 'have equity' to something that is bringing in $0...so yes, I understand what you're saying, but you're forgetting that the work has to be put in (playing shows, recording music, etc) for there to be any kind of progress...so I still say the Tire Shop analogy makes sense...even if that employee was a 20% stakeholder in the Tire Shop, the other 4 people are going to want to continue to make money and move forward...the difference is that in a tire shop you can continue to change tires...in a band, if 1 member doesn't even respond, do they continue to make music without them? You tell me sir

      I think it’s the difference between a session artist agreement and someone who enters an agreement to record/tour and be presented as a shared interest. Think they would’ve moved on without the member of it was a simple session fee.

It's irresponsible to do so whatever side one finds themselves landing on. Personally speaking though, I wish Lambesis and especially all the other guys well. But I honestly don't listen to aild nearly at all anymore. As for the new stuff, it may be very good but it will never and could never hit the same way the previous albums did before all this went down. And unfortunately, the reputation of the other guys have been tainted given their walking back and getting the band back together. Very unique, strange, and unfortunate situation for all involved. That's not even mentioning the trauma his family has to live with.

    I wish Jasta did some homework on the difference between testosterone and tren. Testosterone is a necessary product in the male body and if you lack it the mental decline is very scary. Ive been there. Went to a specialist and I have NEVER felt better. It’s about consistency. TREN on the other hand is only bad in my humble opinion. Big difference between the two and if theres any men reading these comments that have issues with depression/mental fatigue/poor sleep/anxiety/stress I suggest you don’t mask it with pharmaceuticals and go to a MENS HEALTH specialist where you can get all your blood work checked.

    I couldnt help but feel bad for Tim when Jasta gratuitously asked him the family question. Like families grow on trees. Tim obviously loves his kids despite what happened and its got to be the worst kind of hell being away from them, all the time missed. Having his kids taken away from him was his original motive for what he did in the first place. He did his time and has helped others along the way. He is many years removed from this now. I see a changed, remorseful person who misses his children. Then to listen to Jasta back pedal, just throwing a bunch of empty words out when Tim broke down was just pathetic. He doesnt owe you anything Jasta. You are not the gatekeeper to his redemption!

    • @kevinjones6405
      @kevinjones6405 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It clearly is something that haunts Tim to this day and it is helpful to see the level of remorse he has at times because that seemed to be missing when all of this went down. With that said, it was his actions that led to his family being taken away and he has to live with that. I myself struggle to forgive him and seeing him in interviews has helped but it is tough to just move past it or see him as a victim in any way. No, he doesn’t owe Jasta anything nor is Jasta the gatekeeper of Tim’s redemption but Jasta’s feelings represent a fair amount of fans who felt betrayed and can’t just move just because he served some time. This isn’t a drug sentence, it was a serious infraction and it is going to have a variety of emotions surrounding it.
