100 Day Project: Set Up & Preview

You know what would be fun/cool? If all of us could participate in sending collage material to each other! Strangers at first, but united in our love of abstract mixed-media. For instance, I have some cool/weird things I've cut out of an old nursing textbook a friend gave me. I could take my trusty X-Acto knife and cut out some diagrams or medical illustrations, and send them along to another viewer. In turn, someone might send me some collage materials.

It's fair to say if you have an audience for your art it is liked by someone, either that or we don't like it but we like you. In either case you come out ahead for continuing to make your art.

I want to do small birds I can cut out of papers, add half circle wings and then draw on feet,, eyes and feathered caps.
I will put these on the cards I make.

Think just to make art, I have done the 100 day challenge before with mark making, but think I might try collage also, but add in one other medium with it, don’t know will decide over the weekend. Love your videos so inspiring and keeps me motivated to keep making art.❤

I just signed up for the 100 Days... thanks Jackie for featuring it on your channel. My only trepidation is that it uses Instagram... I have already posted a typo and can't edit! Literacy is important in my world! Lol. I have a goal to do a 365 day clay sculpture project so 100 days of collage should help me test my gumption!

Thank you for doing this video. Your explanation really helped because I’m aware of the 100 day challenge but it seemed like too big a commitment. I think it’s a great idea. I’m transitioning into retirement and desparately want to immerse myself in art. This might help me loosen up.

Indeed a great Friday surprise! I needed inspiration in January so started on January 1st. I use #100daychallenge as it was a self challenge rather than being part of the "project" scenario. Well underway - 6 X 6 mixed media pieces. Looking forward to seeing you succeed this year Jackie!

I don't feel so bad about saving every little scrap of something when I see you're saving the curl off the china markers. You've encouraged me to try the 100 day project. I once tried Inktober and managed to get through most of the month. 100 days seems like a lot. But, maybe even grid journaling once a day will work.

100 days of collage sounds good. I looked at Rex Ray's collages. He did simple too and it really helped his art. A good springboard for other art

For goodness sake, I‘m overwhelmed by ideas to do.
Collage, painting, drawing still- life, photographs, mixed- media, digital art.
I have no idea of how to pick 1.
I was ready to ask:“Say Jackie, do you have an Instagram?“ but already saw you put it in your text below.
Now I have to figure out where to put the work I might make because I don‘t want to flood my @SamStruys account. How do you guys do this?

It’s tricky - I have reservations about flooding my @jackieschomburgart account too, but it’s on-brand enough that I’m hoping it will help me (finally) focus on IG reels and TH-cam shorts 🤷‍♀️ Some people also do weekly updates instead of daily posts ❤️
