    Any advice on how to help prevent an injector bolt from breaking while removing? I'm in the process of replacing all the injectors on my 2011 6.7 powerstroke. Cp4 failure.... 😞

  • @1BigMistakee
    @1BigMistakee 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    These 6.7 powerstrokes are great engines. The early 11's-12' had some turbo and glow plug issues but the newer models are bulletproof and can handle a lot of abuse

    I always take a 3/8 extension and a small hammer and tap on the hold down to seat the injector. I'm too afraid of over torquing that bolt

    Are those injectors leak oil cuz I have a 2017 f350 and I see like a little oil leak on the passenger side injectors it seems it comes from the injectors but those days was very cold I don’t know maybe its a gasket but I don’t know whats your opinion help me I don’t wanna take it to the dealer cuz I deleted the truck and only has 70k miles. What u think should I put back the original exhaust?????

    Brack down on expressway towed to Ford today in IA. Got codes, P04DA, P0299, P0263, P0269, and P0673. I’m guessing couple of those are fuel injects and one is glow plug. 2011 F350 6.7 powerstroke. How much are fuel injectors each.

    Was going on a camping trip Yesterday with my 35ft 5th wheel . Reduce engine light came on , white smoke out the exhaust. Shop also said I had a sticking #2 injector. They are recommending changing all the injectors. Is this common ? Thanks for your opinion.

    How do you keep these fuel systems clean when you are working on these trucks? I have brake cleaned everything and used a shop vac to suck any loose dirt up around the whole area and I can still find tiny particles in the injector ports and stuff just from picking them up and pushing them in the holes. The rails I’m sure are getting tiny little particles in the ports, I can see like small carbon flakes down in the injector hole that you can’t even get to etc..do you even worry about small stuff getting in the system? I just imagine these fuel systems would be trashed if you got even a spec of dirt in the rails or injectors.

    Well it appears I broke one of those little plastic return lines. I was driving the truck and suddenly lost power and could hear an injector knock. I pulled over and the line had popped off the injector and was dumping diesel. Would that low pressure line cause the truck to barely move and make the injectors knock like that?

    • @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod

      Yesss. It didnt just break by itself. Either the injector hold down busted & the injector popped out causing the line to break.....OR u just found out you have some sort of contamination in the HP fuel system that blocked the line, caused excessive return pressure & boooooom blew off. Yes replace the injector the only programming you're going to need to do which I don't think you can do with the Snap-on is to program the iqa numbers into the PCM for the injectors you replace

      Hand snug then It’s 14 lb ft. Then 26 lb ft. Tighten at injector first then at rail.

    I have a question I have a 2011 with 80,050 had 4 injectors replaced in October 2021 and now Ford is telling me I need4 more injectors need replaced and can't tell me why I'm having issues. They tell me my fuel is good so what's the problem I ask. If you could give any suggestions I would appreciate.
