i am picking one up today for 125 euros! the exact working condition is unknown though. but all the parts seem to be there. will be my first enlarger! i have my eyes on the same philips color calibrator and timer too! so i really thank you for your video's since they will help me immensely in my new hobby :)
Great! So if mechanically it's not rusty you can fix almost everything with soldering iron. But better to think about reasonable lens, because most of the time you can find kit's with junk lenses and with the fungus 👍 So good luck, great to hear more people joining the club 🙌👍
@@NordicLab Well i have it in my home now and its quite a bit larger than i expected haha! something in the electronics is wrong, the fuse of the transformer is blown but the connector that plugs into the transformer seems busted too so i'm going to look into fixing that, shouldn't be too hard. the transformer is different from yours though, i have the normal 35 but i don't think it'll matter much the machine itself seems fully functional, it has the negative plate i want for which i'm glad (for 35mm film). there does seem to be a quite a bit of moisture damage to some screws though. the mechanisms itself all work well so it probably isn't a problem (although those metal rods do have rust spots, i'll see if i can buff them out), it just doesn't look as good. tomorrow i'll receive the philips timer with colour calibrator. the lens is el-nikkor 50mm 1:4 from nikkon. Is that rubbish? no fungus yet luckily!!
did you get the 6x6 diffuser box? video only shows 35 one installed. you ll need a 75 or 80mm lens to enlarge 6x6 for good prints. bit late but a good tip is to try and find instructions for the enlarger you want online first and work out if all bits included. if buying durst, check head movements - 601, 605 will move 90 degrees - wall print, m670 is fixed - floor print
This enlarger have colour head for 6x6, so you have switch on the right side, to change box frame. Check rest of the video on the channel, it's more explanations in them 😉🙌

My first enlarger, a Durst M-601, was the predecessor to this one. In the early 1980s, I set up my permanent darkroom and replace it with an M-800 for its 6x9 cm format, which I still use today. Durst always had distribution and sales problems in the US, and parts are very hit or miss today, but I collected everything I might need and a few backup duplicates before everything dried up. The quality of Durst enlargers is so superior to US made units that they are hard to compare. One piece of advice I will offer. Buy a working backup power supply for the colorhead. Durst electrics were the weakest part of their products, and repairs are not cost effective even if possible,

Yes, you can use cyan filter for contrast paper, but in general you can remove all the filters
